We were a group of three from different parts of the world. We all felt spoilt for choice and each had something different from the menu. None of us was disappointed! Quite the opposite! The food was fresh, well-prepared and very flavoursome. The service was friendly and efficient-staff seemed genuinely pleased that we were enjoying our evening.

We are currently doing the coast to coast walk and our stay at the Golden Lion has been beyond expectations. The room is beautiful, the bathroom is bigger than most bedrooms and better then you would see in in a vogue magazine. We had dinner here at the pub and it was delicious. Nick the manager Is so welcoming and...

This was a special place There were 6 of us and we all liked this stay. Great food with warm pub ambiance. Rooms spacious and quiet. Modern, hardy showers. Very personable and attentive staff. We would definitely return should we elect to re walk Wainright's Coast to Coast hike or to revisit Yorkshire district.

We visited last Sunday evening for a family dinner. There were 11 of us and everyone (without exception) was very happy with their choices. I had the calves liver and it was excellent. I can also recommend the panacotta - it was exceptional. Great experience; thank you.

This is a very good inn - my wife says it was cute - and it had new bathrooms. The food was excellent. Having accommodation, food and drink in one place is great when doing the C2C walk. However, I wasn't paying close enough attention to the distances involved when walking from Richmond (especially so since there is a detour...

This was a fantastic pub to eat at. Firstly service is spot on, staff are very friendly. The food is right on the money for pub grub. It's very reasonably priced for a the quality. I personally had the ribs and the kiev, but tried the lamb and it was fantastic. We sat with a party of nine, served quickly,...

We stayed for one night last Saturday. Having driven six hours to have a meal with the family I was anxious that the 'village' accommodation arranged for us would be OK, but this place surpassed all my expectations. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and the staff couldn't do enough to help. The food was...

Stayed at The Golden Lion over the Easter weekend when visiting family. We have stayed at many places around and about the area over the years, but this definitely beats them all. Value for money, we really couldn't fault this bed and breakfast. Large clean room with very comfortable large double bed. Great breakfast freshly cooked. Dinner was excellent on...

All I can say is good things about our two night stay at Golden Lion. We were a little apprehensive as it was quite a bit cheaper than some other places in the area; but it was fantastic; and superb value for money. The room was lovely. Very clean, bed very comfy bed, and the shower was amazing. There were...
