My wife and I were very happy with the service, the amenities and especially the location -- right at the start of the Cabot Trail. I would definitely stay here again. No, it's not the Ritz Carlton...but that's the point, isn't it? This is Cape Breton Island, not New York City.

This is a budget motel. Very simple and dated. I had booked one room and then cancelled it so I could book a cheaper room, but they charged me the higher price anyways, and they charged my credit card before I checked in, so I had to pay for my friend's room, too. The room I was in had carpet... More

First off, the fellow working in the office was not friendly; in fact he seemed indifferent as to whether or not we stayed there. The room had very dated furniture and a strong scent like febreeze or something sprayed just before we got there. It was slightly below average as far as what I'd expect for a motel like this.... We had the king room which was clean and the bed was comfortable. Cleaning staff were very obliging if we needed towels or other items, we just had to ask. It is about 10 - 20 minutes from various restaurants which was fine with us; eating out was planned into our vacation. The owner was pleasant, but I can see... More

Travelling with another family, we booked two rooms for our final night along the Cabot Trail recently. Checking in, I felt something a little "off" with the owner. I'm not a hotel/motel owner but if you're in the hospitality business, wouldn't it be a good practice to be, um hospitable? Werner (I'm assuming that's his name from the other poor... More

This Inn is showing its age. It is a nice spacious and clean room in the motel. The pool needs some work, although we did swim in it. Couldn't see the river from the motel, as the trees were too tall. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a budget price and just a place to sleep,... More

The owner could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The staff were pleasant and very efficient. I would recommend this location and would stay here again next year. Great location for access to many beautiful beaches. The view from the balcony was fantastic.

So prior to arriving yesterday, I also read many of the recent reviews. We were getting nervous, especially when we saw the Trump-like response by the owner after being baited by an advisor troll. (Tip for owner: 1s and 5s ratings can't be trusted - read mid-range for what you are doing well and where improvements can be made. Nothing... More

We stayed for 1 night here to begin our trip on the Cabot Trail (excellent location). After reading some reviews we were a bit nervous. However, it was one of the most better values we came across. We stayed in a newly renovated a/c room #50. It had laminate floors, quite spacious and had fridge, small flatscreen tv, coffee. Very... More

We knew from other reviews that this was a basic place. The prices are good, so what can you expect? We got a so-called housekeeping unit which was converted into 3 large rooms and a "kitchenette". That translates into a hotplate, 2 tiny pots, and get this, a bar sink, so the pots or the water bottles can't fit under... More
