The Bella Coola Valley has some stunning scenery, and the 'Hill' is the only way of getting into the valley. The locals think nothing of travelling this road, I was glad I was the passenger and not driving! It is spectacular though, just do not drive too fast and beware of lorries coming around the hair pin bends. We had...

We had wanted to come to Bella Coola for years and now wonder why. Apart from the Hill the long journey in is not particularly inspiring; the town of Bella Coola is well away from the coast and could be construed as "ugly", Hagensborg is just a string of properties alongside Highway 20 and the harbour is ....well a harbour....

We stayed for 2 nights, tried for 3 but due to the ferry comming in the lodge was full. Staff were great, room was clean, no fan in the bathroom, comfortable bed. Due to the full house, seating for meals was limited and if you wanted to venture out really early, breakfat was not open until 7:30am. Note: there was...

Bella Coola Mountain Lodge We spend two nights at the Bella Coola Mountain Lodge in August, and our experience there was very mixed. The lodge is slightly set back from the road and consists of an attractive wooden structure. Food is excellent, especially at lunch and dinner. We were, however, shocked with the ugliness of our accommodation, suite # 15....

We just got back from a 3 night stay in Bella Coola. We could only get 2 nights at the Bella Coola Mountain Lodge as they were booked the first night. We were very pleasantly surprised with our room. It had probably been renovated was decorated very nicely and very clean. We weren't doing our own cooking but could have....

This lodge is in a great location to explore the mountains around the Bella Coola Valley, and the staff at the lodge were cheerful, although Fraser the owner seemed on the verge of resenting the guests intrusion. Maybe he is just struggling to make a go of the business. The dinners in the restaurant at the lodge were outstanding, but...

You may have caught me at a frantic moment, with the tours and all expectations of gust satisfaction often falling on the owner, it can be a hectic moment or two! Glad you enjoyed the raft trip, I have been guiding that personally for more than 10 years and always like good feedback on the part I do best at...

The Bella Coola Mountain Lodge is well-situated on Highway 20 (really just a not at all busy 2 lane road) in the heart of the Bella Coola Valley and was a reasonable distance from everything we wanted to do there. Our rooms were very large and comfortable, if not fancy, with a kitchenette (although we dined out). The view of...

Thank you so much for a great review on our lodge, staff, and meals, we do do our best and our staff are dedicated and their love of the region shines through! Also so glad you enjoyed the raft trip, eco-rafting is our specialty from May through August, then we switch to Grizzly Bear Tours in September and October (!)...

This hotel is actually in the unincorporated Norwegian settlement of Hagensborg but the whole area is known as Bella Coola. The lodge is situated right on the highway, but since traffic was minimal when we were visiting, there was no problem. It is a lodge that has been added onto over the years, but the total effect is rustic and...

Our remote area does present challenges at times and it is nice to see that our efforts to provide a quality experience do not go unnoticed by discerning travelers! We are pleased that you had a nice visit and appreciate your time to tell others of our offerings. Hope to see you again one day, Fraser.

The scenery is fantastic, all the staff are most helpful and cleanliness all around the Lodge is good. My only criticism is the breakfast. If you are not in the dining room first there is nothing left to eat, on the second day there was no bread to make toast. On our last day a group of Germans came in...

Sorry that you did not find the complimentary breakfast up to snuff. We try throughout the morning to keep the supplies topped up as best we can, but you are right, some people may eat more before you arrive, so it can be difficult to get there first. Our staff are always pleased to re-stock any of the breakfast items...

In early August and mid-September we visited the Bella Coola Valley for six days in August, exploring the area and for five days in September, mostly watching grizzly bears fishing for salmon in the Atnarko River. Both times we stayed at the Bella Coola Mountain Lodge, the first time because from the information we gathered prior to our trip, it...

Thanks for the review Gabor, it was a pleasure having you visit us (two times in one season) in Bella Coola, and you definitely got to see a lot with the eco-rafting bear tour and hiking! You fit a lot into your holidays, way to go. I particularly appreciated your knowledge of river hydrology, as i am always eager to...
