Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An absolutely fabulous place owned and operated by fantastic folks. Accommodating doesn’t begin to describe the service and hospitality of this place. I felt relaxed and welcome from the very first moment. Tranquil gardens to enjoy your favorite book as well as a variety of books to choose from in the little library. I got a chance to stay in two rooms during my extended stay and both were great. I’d suggest the “Terrace” room though. Mainly because it’s on the 3rd floor and has a great view of the garden and the mountains surrounding Carrara. Margherita was an absolute angel with lots of helpful information on the area and suggestions for tours available.

Beautiful renovated villa with a great taste for art. We stayed for only one night in the appartment with a terras and view on the garden. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning everything was perfect. Very friendly owner and host.

It was a really nice experience. My family (2 adults and 2 children) stayed 2 nights at Villa Belverde. The owner of the hotel was really ospitable. Lady helped us to make a plan of our trip thru Italy and interesting places.

Perfect accommodation. Outstanding service from Margherita. Luxury at a very low price. 20 minute drive to La Spezia where is extremely easy to take train or ferry to Cinque Terre. I could spend a couple hours writing how perfect was our two night stay at Villa Belvedere!!!

From the moment we drove in Margherita was wonderful. The suite was more than we could've hope for. I felt like I could've moved in there. It was comfortable and relaxing and just overall beautifully decorated as well. It was lovely to have our own terrace and be able to stand outside and look at the mountains. Can't wait to escape here again.

A beautiful totally renovated old Italian villa. Only 5 or 6 appartment in an idyllic setting of immaculate gardens and grounds. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor and had a very large balcony overlooking the city of Carrara, the marble capital of Italy. Owner was most gracious and helpful in all respects. Everything there, including a 1st class breakfast, was superb. A true bargain for what was offered!

Absolutely stunning! Our 'B&B' turned out to be a 3 room suite with self catering facilities: kettle, coffee maker, fridge, sink. The floors were pure marble and the beds firm and a dream to sleep in. Fully air-conditioned and with shutters at the windows as an optional extra to keep out the heat, the rooms were wonderful. Breakfast is served in the magnificent garden and Margerite looks after every possible need. A fabulous place to stay when going up to the marble quarries.

Wonderful place to stay. Very tastefully renovated italian villa. With a beautiful garden and an interesting mix of antiques and modern art. However the hospitality was the highlight, the far best we've had in Italy. The service was above and beyond We will come back someday and stay longer. I can not recommend this place strongly enough.

My husband and I and our 2 kids go to Italy once a year. This year we decided to visit Carrara. Our friend recommended that we stay at a newly opened B& B -- Villa Belverde. We could not be happier with his recommendation! The house setting, and views were great and very hospitable and detail-oriented owners made our trip even more remarkable. We stayed at il Baldacchino suite and our kids at La Veranda. Each suite was different and gorgeous! (marvelous design with some awesome paintings btw) Go there! You can't go wrong with this place! 5 stars for everything.
