Clean, good shower. Location good for visiting Gibraltar. Walking distance even for me , a seventy- one year old. Lots of bars and restaurants close to hostel. Friendly, helpful. Staff. Reasonable price for the area. Parking is on the street . Breakfast available in lots of little cafes 1-2 mins walk away.

Conveniently positioned a short walk from the border with Gibralatar and very close to the authentic and lively streets, squares , cafes and shops of the town. Friendly people, helpful but English is limited! (Our fault for not speaking Spanish.) Rooms are clean, comfortable and airy but basic. Only criticism: I would have appreciate tea/coffee making facilities in room however...

Pros Value for money: Around US$35 per night. Double bed, private bathroom, bathtub, air-conditioner. Good location: Easy to find. Supermarket, sim card shop, restaurants nearby. Only 15-20 minutes walks to Gibraltar. Cons Weak WIFI: I couldn’t connect the WIFI at all.

Recently returned from a week stay at the Carlos I in La Linea and to be fair you get what you pay for. Its basic but clean and tidy and towels were changed daily. We did move rooms as we wanted a double bed and to be fair they did warn us it was noisier than the front of the...

My partner and I stayed 7 nights while waiting for our flat in Gibraltar. **I will start with the positive points: > FOOD: 9 euros for a 3 course meal with drink. Bargain. It tasted really nice too. > SHOWER AREA: Good power shower, good toilet, cleaned daily and new towels each time. > ROOM SIZE: Good size for two...

Not sure what some of the reviewers here complain about. Yes, it's not the Hilton but that's the point. The hostal does what it says on the tin: offers a decent place to overnight at a very reasonable price. The staff are also very nice, even if they don't speak much English.

We stayed one night, good location but very noisy. There is an Irish pub in the square and a salsa bar. The music went on until 5 am so not recommended if you want a good nights sleep. The room was also very small and a tiny bathroom

Okay, it´s not the AC Marriott up the road, but the Hostal Carlos I is tidy, clean and quiet, and offers a friendly staff, hot showers, and a comfortable bed. The hotel does have the advantage of being right in town (unlike the AC), and is thus a 5 minute walk to the border with Gib. So for a night...

We slept one night in this hotel, but the overall experience is very good. First, the building is tall and narrow - we saw a beautiful square underneath through the balcony. Also, the glasses in the bathroom where from real glass. They serve pretty tasty and cheap breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The bed had a bed-broad pillow, which is...
