I stayed here for 2 nights in April as I was attending a wedding a few miles away. This is the first place in 40 years of travel that I've come across a 4ft Wardrobe???? Where are women attending functions supposed to hang their dresses ?? I've read other reviews about small beds but if I'd been offered one I...

Dear Guest, Thank-you for taking the time to review your stay. Your observation that we are suitable for weddings, conferences and functions is correct as this is what we specialise in. As we do not have any leisure facilities on site (I.E no gym, swimming pool etc..) we are not aimed at the leisure market for this reason. As we...

I cannot fault the location, helpful staff and general overall feeling of this hotel as a wedding venue. The views from the grounds are spectacular and the building give character to the event. The wedding was the only event in the hotel which made it feel like home. The various rooms allowed people to go some where quiet if they...

From arrival to departure I found the staff and facilities absolutely fantastic, courteous, helpful and polite. The food both in the evening and at lunchtime was superb with a wide variety of choice. I didn't stay over but my colleagues assured me that the rooms were spotless and more than adequate for their needs. The venue is situated in beautiful...

Having read the reviews of fir tree court, I was a little dubious. Yes, it's inconveniently far from reception, elysian when (like mine) your key card doesn't work. The room was large and nice, and smelt clean although it wasn't 100% (dust, lots of bits on the floor). Dinner was nice and not overpriced but the service in the bar...

Enjoyed a lovely day at a wedding reception - plenty of seating, good facilities, lovely views. Meal was good for a large group and service was efficient. Bar prices seemed a little high in the evening. Our room however, was a different story - the double bed was only three quarter sized and barely fit into the room - jammed...

Dear guest, Thank-you for taking the time to review your recent stay. By your comments of your bedroom I can only assume you were in one of our small double rooms which do have a 4ft bed. Due to the age of the building and being a converted 17th century mansion house, every bedrooms is a different shape and size...

Room 1 in the Annexe. Just look at my photos. Paint peeling off the walls. Filthy marked walls. Room so small you can't open the bathroom door as it hits the bed! Blood stained and ripped duvet cover. Wardrobe is a cupboard under the stairs with just one hanger in it. Ceiling so thin you can hear the guests talking...

My partner booked this hotel as I had missed Valentines as I was away working in Spain. My partner checked us in while I dealt with the bags and she was told that we would not be staying in the main house due to a wedding party taking over and we would be in the Firs annexe. First Strike So,...

It was only by chance we came across our Wedding Venue, thanks to a De Vere mail-shot (prompted by an ill fated & under-utilised gym membership) Luckily our memories of Highfield Park will last longer! On our first visit we were warmly welcomed by Sarah & Louise, Wedding Co-ordinators who by virtue of their friendliness, were relaxed enough to let...

We booked our wedding at Highfield and had the most amazing day. The grounds are beautiful - although we couldn't use them as too wet, nonetheless they were stunning. There is a sunroom/conservatory which means you can enjoy the room from inside. The inner rooms are gorgeous and we have some beautiful wedding photos. We had the most wonderful day...
