Detailed Reviews
We stayed for 2 nights, prior to sailing home on the ferry from St Malo. We had a very good deal, whereby we had a reduced rate with no room cleaning, which was not an issue for such a short stay. It is a basic no frills hotel, great for short stays and stopovers. The receptionist was helpful and friendly and gave us information on nearby eateries. He spoke English. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, even though we were next to the lift. The bed is on the firm side and I used my own mattress topper so had a good sleep. Breakfast wasn't haute cuisine, but very good value for the cost with the usual ham, cheese, bread, pastries, fruit juice, coffee, eggs, sausages and apples. The hotel is located a few kilometres outside St Malo so a car is necessary. The car park was good but does get full. The air conditioning worked, which was needed as it was exceptionally hot during our visit. I would definitely stay again if in the area

This is a fairly ordinary hotel south of st malo with large clean rooms and gated parking - so only if you have transport. Within simple and easy reach of st malo centre or the ferry port. Good value and a good value breakfast.
Nothing fancy, but great value for what you pay, for an overnight stay or just a few days. We would stay here again.

I must admit that I am a fan of B&B Hotels. I've stayed in a few around the St Malo area before catching the ferry back to uk. I think they're great. Always clean and tidy, nice staff and an ok, if a little basic breakfast. Yes, the rooms are a little small but these at Saint-Juan are a little bigger.
Outside the hotel, the village is really nice with lots a local shops and a great little beach (for the dogs) just down the road to the estuary}

We informed the hotel well before our trip that we were likely to arrive late (between 10pm and 11pm, as a stop-over before our morning ferry) and they messaged us to say that Reception would be closed from 9.00pm but gave us instructions to use a machine outside the front door to gain access to the hotel and our room, and to call the 24 Hour Assistance if we had any problems.
We arrived at 10.30pm, found the machine, put in all of our details which matched our booking, put in our bank card as instructed - and the machine just said "remove card" and that we had to contact the hotel. We tried several times with different cards with the same result. We then tried ringing the 24 Hour Assistance buzzer next to the machine. It went to a recorded message. We tried 3 times but received no reply.
Faced with the prospect of spending the night in our car, we tried the Hôtel Première Classe Saint Malo next door. Luckily that reception was manned and they had a room so we stayed there instead.
We were not charged for our booking at B&B HOTEL Saint-Malo Sud as we were unable to stay, but we felt we should warn other travellers not to book if you are planned to arrived outside the manned Reception hours as their out of hours procedure does not work and we were left in a foreign country at 10.30pm with nowhere to stay.

Dear ABI, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience. We are really sorry for this incident that was related to a cable cut that night. This incident is exceptional and fortunately does not call into question the efficiency of our system of late arrival that is used daily by our customers. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Sincerely, Donia

This hotel offers excellent value. The rooms are clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and excellent soundproofing. Rooms are air-conditioned, and unlike other B&B hotels this one has internal corridors. We had an excellent night's sleep, with no noise from either outside or other rooms. The only fault was that breakfast wasn't brilliant, with the eggs and bacon running out more than an hour before the end of service and them not being replaced and the bread being of average quality. The hotel is very well situated close to the motorway - it is just ten minutes to the intra-muros. It is an excellent place to stay if catching the morning ferry.

I don't know about you, but I think traveling is too easy these days, and we need hotels to restore the sense of adventure that's been lost by this.
What I want from a hotel is constant, edge-of-your-bed excitement from the moment of check-in until stumbling away, hallucinating from lack of sleep.
If you feel the same, then this is the hotel for you!
The 'will they, won't they' suspense before finding out whether your room is ready (it isn't, but it's ok because there's another room instead, oh what a rollercoaster) is a suitable introduction to 24 hours of cleaners walking into your room unannounced (if you're not fully dressed, they score a point), the dawn chorus of successive door slamming, and then having to move rooms the following day because the room you got put in isn't actually a room you can use for some reason or other as decided by the hotel.
You think it's all over - SURPRISE! Once allocated your new room and given a key code, you will find that your new room is occupied by naked people! Now unable to get into your old room, or take your stuff into your new room, you may now sit in the cafe surrounded by your bags for two hours until your new room has been cleared of naked people and cigarettes.
But don't get too complacent, because now it's time for the cleaners to start mopping the cafe area, and stacking chairs all around you. Think of it like battleships, and they're slowly advancing on your table, while you have to see if they reach it before you have somewhere to move to. The hoover will distract from any entertainment you might be getting from the TV, so they've got that covered too.
Finally you'll get to your room, and if you're lucky you're not an asthma sufferer, because it will still smell of smoke. Times this by 6 for the number of people in your party, and it's the perfect team-building experience. They really have thought of everything, and I for one can't wait to see how they improve on this experience for the following few days of our stay!

Very Good location just south of St Malo but easy to travel in about 3/4 minutes by car. The hotel was clean offers a good breakfast at about half the price of the more central hotels in St Malo. There is a secure car park with plenty of space but beware you don't get blocked in if you have an early ferry, the French will park anywhere and wont get up to move!!!!!

Nice place to stay, near the highway. Close to Saint Malo and Dinard. Hotel closes at 9pm. Use you room code, no keys nor access card, for parking and main door, after 11pm. Breakfast is simple. I have seen more elaborate ones, in hotel of similar level. Rooms are small, compared to North American standards. Still practical. No complementary coffee in rooms or outside breakfast hours. Personal is friendly and helpful.

stayed three nights.very good value for money.large rooms, clean and tidy. Friendly staff with a little English spoken.Breakfast was good( just a little slow in replenishing everything) as it is one person trying to do everything on their own. No coffee/tea facilities in room (but i always take travel kettle etc) they do have vending machines in the foyer. Great base for sight seeing area. Yes I would stay here again.

We stayed at this splendid B&B for our last night before catching the ferry home, but it was so good that we intend to go back and spend a few nights there. The house itself is most interesting and the hosts are most interesting and welcoming.
I have not completed the "star ratings" below as they are not appropriate for a B&B - but just visit - and you will not be disappointed.

Odd question but it is 372 kilometres or 231 miles from Charles de Gaulle Airport and the distance from the Eiffel Tower is only 214 miles so a little closer but still about a 71 hour walk.
The reception closes at 9pm. If you advise them, they will probably find a way to send you the codes for your room, which is the same for the parking gate, which closes at 11pm, and the main door. I hope this helps. Have a nice trip.
Bonjour,
Malheureusement nous n'aurons pas de chambre familiale pour 5 personnes.
Merci de votre compréhension,
cordialement
Juliette
