Very good value for the price. Basic accommodation, but nice and clean, perfect to stay overnight or longer. Take a room with river view or even terrace. Very nice owner, who will serve you modest but tasty breakfast in the morning.

We booked a room and turned up at this hotel, having told them on the phone we would be arriving at 4am. We were met with a closed hotel and, after calling them from outside, a nonchalant 'I know you booked but people came...sorry'. The next two hours was spent wandering the streets (no taxis/public transport at 4am) looking for... More

If you have the big room on the first or second floor with two large windows, one facing the river - you have a great room. (12USD) Our room was twin bedded, amazing view, large size, a bit of furniture and the bathroom was also fine. Thanks to the big windows there was a good air circulation, so no AC... More

Our room was a 3 bed and it was around $100, 000 dong per person. The owner is extremely nice and helpful(although his english isn't the best)! He even offered to make us breakfast before our tour of the near by national park. The room was pretty spacious and came with AC and a lovely hot shower. The rooms are... More

Dong Hoi is a pretty little seaside city. The locals here are so friendly. The owner of this hotel doesn't speak much English but is very helpful. The room was clean and basic but has everything you need. Ask for an upstairs room with a view of the sea. It was great to wake up with the sun pouring in... More

There aren't many tourists in Dong Hoi- most seem to be just passing through. As a result, most of the population doesn't quite seem to know what to do when a tourist shows up in their store or restaurant. And certainly don't expect the simplicity and comfort that comes from areas that are a little more touristed. With that said,... More

Mau Hong is located in a place that is ideal for those who wish to visit the beautiful beach, and also is within walking distance of the main 'town area'. Dong Hoi is very quiet and small itself and I found the area right around the hotel was just what I wanted. The room I was given was huge and... More

This is a typical backpackers guesthouse. Nothing fancy, but the rooms are spacious. Try to get a room on the frontside for the nice view over the lively fishersharbour. The room at the back we had first had rockhard matresses, the rooms in the front where a lot better. The innkeeper is a friendly and helpfull guy who speaks a... More
