No lift . No toiletries. In room sleepers were not provided. South Indian dishes at breakfast are not up to the mark. Main course menu lacks variety. Cleanliness is great. Staffs are polite & helpful. Front desk should be more active to arrange tours & taxis for tourists.
Hotel service is good. Staff is polite and friendly. Bathrooms are small. My room has mountain view which is ofcourse extra charged by hotel. Service is provided by hotel in room also. Food was good and my trip was managed by manager itself. If you dont know the places to visit then have talk with hotel staff.
We stayed for 4 nights in Nettle & Fern on our sikkim trip. It's best hotel in gangtok. Rooms are specious with beautiful interior. Staff is good. Manager Dhiren is very helping. He helped us book hotels at other places. We had absolutely amazing stay everywhere. Will strongly recommend.
This is my second visit to the property. The hotel is extremely clean, food is good and last but not the least the staff is extremely helpful. If you are planning to hire a car for local sight seeing or traveling to other cities, please contact the hotel. They will provide you with a car costing you less than what you will pay at the local taxi stand.
Starting from its amazing location with top-notch views of the hills, the stay couldn't be more perfect. The complimentary breakfast dishes and other food items represented the authentic flavours of Gangtok and we couldn't get enough of it! Also, the hotel staff and manager were very cooperative with us tourists and gave us their best deals and co-operated whenever applicable. The rooms were clean, spacious and aesthetic and overall, it went beyond our expectations. Their own bakery just below had the most delicious cheesecake among others and it's totally recommended. We made some amazing memories and got to know some of the heartwarming people of Gangtok. Nettle and Fern turned our trip into a lovely vacation with its homely atmosphere! Totally recommended!
A hotel stay is very subjective, what is good to me might be not to someone else. So the below review and suggestion is based on my personal view only. *Room Tips* 2 Pax - 404 3 Pax - 501 4~5 Pax - 502 403 and 402 is also good but 404 would be a better choice. And if budget is not a constraint then book 501 even if you are 2 pax. My friend and I stayed in 404. Deluxe suite on 4th Floor. The room was adequately comfortable with modern facilities like geyser, tv with satellite channel, hair dryer, room heater, tea/ coffee maker and electric kettle and mini fridge. The closet and luggage rack was perfectly placed upon entry so that one need less moving around while moving in or out. The interior decor is quite pleasant with wall arts and light stand. Mirror next to window with dressing light and drawers were there. Both the bed sides had reading lamp. Now coming to comparisons between plus and negative *Plus* The view from the room is breath taking, the entire valley is visible and on a clear day the mountain ranges too. The staff and service is impeccable and I need to mention Rishi, Amit from Restaurant and Room service and Bishal the manager. They have went beyond their support scope to make my stay comfortable. Food is so tasty and delicious and if you choose to eat from restaurant then the music themed restaurant shall trickle you more. Location wise this property is at a great place, nether far from MG Marg that you cannot commute not too close to get disturbed and I actually liked to peace and quietness *Negative* The breakfast option was very limited for a food lover like me it was peanuts, so limited that out of disappointment I chose to skip B/F and have brunch outside at MG Marg and that is how I encounters Bakers Cafe and Taste of Tibet. *General observation* Since all hill property are mostly wooden based, so sounds gets passed through easily. We had a group of young guys/girls staying and did caused a little noise which was disturbing, like at midnight playing music, banging doors, running down stairs etc. Over all I would rate 4.75 /5 to Nettle and Fern.…
Breakfast options are quite less, need to improve this. Otherwise very comfortable hotel, food quality is good, staffs are very good and well behaved. Location is 1.5km far from mg marg, very difficult to get a taxi if you are getting down at Deorali taxi stand.
This was a truly unique and memorable experience. The hotel is situated in the heart of Gangtok, very close to the main pedestrian avenue lined with shops and restaurants, MK Marg. We were in a suite with a view of the entire mountain range. Even though it was cold and rainy, our room was toasty warm with state of the art wall heating. Room service was excellent, especially after a long day. The food was delicious. We tried the local Sikkimese dishes and loved them. The hotel bakery adjacent to the hotel had some delicious cakes. We loved the cheese cakes! The hotel manager Dhiren organized full-day trips so we could maximize our short stay. We are looking forward to coming back with family members and friends.
We had a great time during our stay at the Nettle and Fern hotel. The manager, Mr Dhiren Chettri was very courteous, ensured that our itinerary was well planned and accommodated all our travel requirements. The room at the property was clean, cosy and provided all the amenities that one could ask for. The hotel is right next to some great cafes, which is an added advantage as well. Would definitely recommend staying at the Nettle and Fern hotel in Gangtok!
I stayed at Nettle and Fern from Oct 26-Nov 1. It was a very pleasant experience. The manager Mr.Dhiren Chhetri went out of his way to make me comfortable and ensure that my sightseeing trips to North, East and South Sikkim were well organized. The room facing Mount Kanchenjunga was a delight. The hotel is located a little away from MGRoad but the walk is good exercise. Mr.Chhetri explained everything personally and that made the difference,
