My husband and I stayed at Poets Corner at the beginning of a month long trip round New Zealand and Marg and John set a standard here that was not bettered elsewhere - excellent though the other lodges were. The comfortable and luxurious accommodation, the delicious breakfasts, Marg's attention to detail and both their warm and generous hospitality made for...

My wife and I spent a long weekend with Marg and John and it was a great experience. There are 4 rooms each side of a central courtyard which leads to a central living area with kitchen. The kitchen has homemade baking and other food and drinks which we could help ourselves to and the lounge has countless cds, dvds...

You seems to be in a family, listening the different stories of the place, listening the suggestions for the area. The design of the house is incredible and the terrace view is a dream. Poet's Corner is a modern, private, comfortable, beautiful bed and breakfast property. You enter into a quaint, well manicured couryard with 4-6 doors entering the guest bedrooms on either side. Through the courtyard you enter wall to wall, ceiling to floor sliding glass doors. The living area is large, modern, comfortable and extends through the dining and kitchen area. This...

This was our 2nd visit to New Zealand and to Poet's Corner in 2010. We couldn't resist it. Much has been written about the amazing view and the quality of the accommodation, which has just been redecorated. It's just excellent! However, what sets this lodge apart from many of the other excellent places where we have stayed in New Zealand...

The views in all directions of the sea, the pastures, the tree covered hills, the lodge's gardens encourage simply relaxing and looking out for a long, long while. For a B&B the setting is unique. It is 6km from the gold mining town of Waihi but feels like far away. Since we were the only guests, Marg put us in...

We stayed at Poet's Corner Lodge for 4 nights at the end of our trip to New Zealand. We had just spent 5 nights on a Tall Ship, with very cramped accommodation, so to be welcomed so warmly by Marg & John, and ushered through the large double doors into the attractive courtyard, was wonderful. We had 3 of the...

Poets Corner Lodge was the last stay of our 14 days roundtrip over the North Island. We thought it couldn't surpass all the other nice lodges we'd stayed in, but we were wrong! What an extremely pleasant surprise when we arrived. A WOW feeling! What we saw was a beautiful lodge in a lovely setting! The lodge is seperated from...
