This Hotel deserves a 5* category. I came with my son from the 22nd until the 27th. Almost just before the season gets close. The impressive service, the quality of food (all day long) and the rooms setup, makes us consider to come back and tell our friends about our experience. We stayed in room 66 and 67. Great view, great housekeeping. Thank you on all of you again

We stayed here. There is 3 lovely pools. One is quiet and the other pool had nice fun music playing. Bar staff at pool friendly. One waitress was really bossy and complaining in her own language to the other Waitresses. Food was lovely good choice. The beach is tiny outside hotel. There is a beach future down the road but prepare to sink in the stones as it gets deep quickly. Lovely restaurants nearby hotel 10min walk and lots of cute shops with clothes and gorgeous paintings. Room in hotel lovely best sleep ever could not hear a sound. Beds great and comfortable. Room cleaned every day. Nice that we had tea/coffee available in room. Entertainment provided by the lead entertainer guy was very great. Really enjoyed the singers, the belly dancing. Music after was really good too pity the guests staying at poolside didn't make more of effort to have fun instead of glued to their own board games . Couple from Ireland.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Blue Beach Hotel. We woke up to the most beautiful sea view each morning. We were 2 adults and 2 kids, we had a family room which was a great size with a balcony, mini fridge and safe. We found the beds very comfortable and slept very well each night. The food was lovely, it can get a bit repetitive but that's to be expected when you are getting 21 meals. It was nice to be able to go up or downstairs to try different foods and the a la carte on our last night was a nice treat. The staff of course were fabulous, so hospitable, attentive and friendly. The pools were all fab, the boys spent most of their days at the sea breeze pool, the animation duo were awesome, wonderful energy. We would happily return to this hotel in the future.

A gorgeous hotel. Accommodation is really comfortable, staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good. Fabulous selection. But what's with the inane music relayed over speaker in the lobby and at the three pools!! Had to request a room change on the first day because our room was beside one of the pools and music was still pounding out at 11pm! It's in such a beautiful setting, the ocean on your doorstep, perfect for peace and quiet. Why, just why pollute it With this constant noise pollution! I just don't understand it.

We enjoyed our stay here. Ill list as pros and cons: PROS - the location is great. Less than 10 mins drive from airport, in Kardamena which is quieter than Kos town and the hotel itself is not in the town but a 10 min walk along the coast away which for us was even more perfect as we were looking for a relaxing break but close enough to places to go out and eat. - 3x swimming pools on site, no problem getting sun loungers though we came in October so might be an issue peak season - love that the rooms are in blocks over the hill. We got a great sea view and it was nice to walk out into sunshine and not hotel corridors. - everything was clean. From rooms bathrooms hotel lobbys and pool sides - hotel is on steep hills but there are lovely gentlemen happy to take people up and down in golf buggies. (We were happy to walk most the time). - everyone is really friendly - our room (twin room) was really spacious inc. the bathroom. Beds were comfortable. Air con worked great. Good balcony with drying rack. Patio door had a mosquito screen so we could open the door and close the screen. Smart tv also so could access netflix! Tea coffee facilities in room. - really comfortable sun loungers. CONS - would have liked to have massage -but was fully booked as theres only one therapist. Book in advance. - asked for an iron and was told “they can’t guarantee theyll find one but they will look”. It didnt turn up and i spent the holiday wearing creased clothes. A 5* hotel should have an iron!!! - breakfast was underwhelming. It was fine and you wont leave hungry but as a frequent traveller, it certainly wasnt a 5* spread, particularly hot food (or lack of it). - outside of meal times you wont get much food. We were booked for breakfast only (not all inclusive) and our flight landed early afternoon. We got to the hotel around 3ish starving and just wanted a sandwich or similar and was told lunch service was over and the a la carte dinner started at 6 (which we needed a reservation for). Poolside has a few snacks which the bar guy was lovely enough to offer me and i was grateful for, but would have been livid if i had to pay for it as it was nothing more than a dry breadroll with a slice of cheese and also pretty rubbish if thats all on offer outside of set mealtimes. We had just landed and didnt want to go hunting for food in the town so just bear this is mind. - room was only cleaned once during our 3 night stay. I dont mind reusing towels but floor and bathrooms should be cleaned. I guess we could have requested a clean which we didn’t. - “beach” in front of hotel is not a beach but a strip of mud with some sunloungers. Not the hotels fault I suppose but can’t really advertise it as such. Nicer beach few minutes away for public that we used. Overall we were happy with our stay and would come again, but some areas of improvement needed which made me feel this is more a 4* and not a 5*.

Currently staying here, so thought I would write, before I get lazy on returning home. Overall experience, very good. Is it a 5 star city, business hotel eg JW Marriott or International? No, but you try staying in one of those with all your meals and drinks for less than 3 times the price you’re paying here and you’ve done well. Reception staff excellent- so often a let down in holiday hotels. Had some problems with TV and room wi fi and sorted effectively and efficiently. Food so far, excellent. Tried both buffet restaurants and whilst nothing I would choose at home from a menu, had been tasty and perfectly cooked. Restaurant staff are great, as are the bar staff. The Seabreeze pool/bar is a bit of a 3 star experience, with loud music, aqua aerobics, cramped bar seating- you get my drift, but wander 20 metres across the path to the Azure pool and bar and you get a completely different experience- pairs of sun loungers spaced 20 feet apart, quite atmosphere and clean and tidy bar, with great staff. I don’t normally return to the same hotel twice, but if I did, I would come back here. Well done to the management and especially the staff. You are a credit to Greece and it’s wonderful people.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, checkin was quick and you get brought to your apartment with a gold buggy which is very good. Resort is a hilly walk up to reception and the restaurants and gym but not too bad. Food was ok, plenty of variety but found some of the meat like the chicken and pork to be more the cheaper cuts. Italian night we found the best. Drinks are fine on the AI and the 3 pools we saw are great , staff really friendly. A la carte can be booked through the app and we really enjoyed this. Entertainment was up and down depending on the days. Our apartment was very clean and had a lovely sea view. The bathroom however had a shower curtain within the bath and i would have expected a separate walk in shower for a 5 star. It a quick walk down across the road to the beach and you can snorkel in the little coves. Also only about 10 minutes into town which was great. Overall i would say it was a bit pricey but we thoroughly enjoyed it and will look to come back in the future if the price is right

The Hotel is great and the location at the beach is very good. I had a great Full body Massage at Aegeo Spas with Sevi as my therapist, and also a good facial Massage with Dimitris. There are also several great targets for guided tours around the Island and to the neighboring ones. I really enjoyed my stay and can recommend both Island Kos and the Grand Blue Hotel.

Rated as a 5 star hotel, you would think you would get a 5 star hotel. Sadly, it wasn't but there are plenty of positives to mention. Room - The family room we had was more than adequate but outdated. Shower over bath, with shower curtain as opposed to a modern walk in shower, and furniture that was probably installed 10-15 years prior to our arrival. The cleaning schedule was a little hit and miss and the in room entertainment was a small TV. Standard old kettle, coffee in sachets and a mini fridge that was relatively cold. No in room snacks provided sadly. The balcony provided beautiful views however over the grounds and out to sea and the aircon was pretty good. We were provided with an extra key so leaving the aircon on when out was a god send upon our return as the room was chilled beautifully. Hotel - The hotel doesn't feel huge but is quite big. It is on a steep hill, so if you struggle with that generally, you can request the golf cart but it can take a short while to arrive during busy periods. There seemed to be a lot of hair balls of all things always blowing about the grounds, and we noticed lots of hair also around the grounds on the pathways - very odd! The reception area is very smart, not that you need to go there after checking in as it's at the top of the hill and pointless visiting. Staff throughout the hotel were all very polite and worked tirelessly to make sure our stay was a good one. There is a car park at the top of the hill and at the bottom, so parking your hire car is no issue, and you can hire vehicles onsite from the company located in the hotel but I wouldn't recommend them due to the rudeness and attitude of the lady at the desk. They were not cheap either, and there is plenty of choice in Kardemena itself. The hotel also has spa facilities which we didn't use, but others may benefit from. Don't be fooled by the beach photo for the hotel, there is no beach just rock and a few old sun loungers on there. A little misleading if you are expecting more. Facilities/Breakfast - 3 pools and plenty of sun loungers to go around. That didn't stop many people dropping towels/a book on them however and disappearing for an hour or 2. This was not monitored nor stopped which is very annoying but as I mentioned, there are plenty of beds so not a huge issue. The beds were quite comfy too, if not a little dirty, which was a bonus. There is an onsite shop which is a little more expensive than local shops but is convenient and well stocked. Breakfast time was pleasant, as seats are situated looking over the top pool and over the ocean. It can become a little busy at times, but there is lots of seating although some of it is in the sun which can make eating your breakfast a slightly sweaty experience! Plenty of choice on offer, with a choice of the usual breakfast items and much more - I was quite impressed with the choice and quality and with coffee on tap, what is there not to like. 4 euro tax to pay per night on your room - considering you pay tax on the hotel booking this is a little odd having to pay another tax on top of the tax you have already paid! Improvements - Pool towels are given to you for the whole week. By the end of the week, they can become a little smelly. Changing them every couple of days would be better and more hygienic. The car hire company in the hotel were both rude and expensive. I would give these the boot and bring someone else in to offer better service and value. A touch of customer service also wouldn't go a miss as well as basic manners. No service around the pool for food or drinks. Very odd considering this is a supposed 5* star hotel. Conclusion - A very enjoyable stay, and well worth the visit. Definitely not a 5 star establishment, 3.5 stars would be more accurate. However, don't let this put you off - a well situated, comfortable hotel with good facilities. I'd recommend for couples and families alike. 3.9/5
