Game lodge, located about 10km out of Bela Bela, accessed via a very drivable dirt road. The entrance stands out and cannot be missed. It is very clear though that no day visitors are allowed. Following the dirt road through to reception you start to feel settled in the natural surrounds; and if you are lucky you will see an...

We just loved the accommodation, the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the game drive and spent most of the time relaxing at the beautiful poolside. Would recommend Thaba Monate for families and even couples. The atmosphere is so relaxing and tranquil.

We arrived in the afternoon with a warm welcome. Sussie at reception was very friendly and shows us to our chalet, the chalet was clean and tidy. As the sun set and our braaivleis fire are on we heard the lions. The sound of the lions was very relaxing and let us feel at home. the next morning when we...

Not very happy with the service, friendly whilst there but as soon as you want your deposit back, its a different story. Kept my R500 deposit for 4 glasses broken. Will never go bac or recommend it to anyone else. The zipline people were very friendly tho and was well worth it.

We spent 3 nights in a chalet at Thaba Monate. Maybe at some point in time the chalets could have been regarded as luxury as advertised, but it is clear that some serious renovations are needed in order to bring these places up to standard let alone luxury. R1600 a night was not good value! The furniture, beds etc all...

Our stands were nice and large and we were shown to them immediately on arrival. We had partial shade. Did see staff assisting folk to erect tents though we didn't use this service. The ablution blocks were always clean and the cleaning ladies very friendly and helpful. Shortage of toilet paper every morning but soon rectified and understandable as peak...

We used to love this place and utilised the camping grounds often but unfortunately we won't be back. The heated pool is no longer heated, the tennis courts are in a major state of disrepair as is the min golf. Ablutions are still good but the campsites haven't been mowed and keep up to standard. We also found the staff...

Thank you so much for excelent hospitality. We are really sad to go home. Everybody went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We have got a child with special needs and everybody went out of their way to make it possible for him to participate in activities. We will definitely come back.

“If you travel in a group. Ask to be booked at the camp sites that are not occupied. They tend to fill one camp site first and move the rest to the next. That is if you want to be free to enjoy till early hours of the morning”
