We booked this resort as we needed extra space as we were travelling in group of 3 adults and 2 kids. We booked this place last minute (4 weeks rpe arrival) during a busy period with school holidays.

We booked the 2 bedroom unit, which comes fully equiped with kitchen, 2 bathrooms, dining and lounge.

At first when we arrived we found the unit dark (probably due to curtains) , but the room was updated and clean. This can be easily fixed with some fresh paint.

I always felt the couch was dirty and needed a nice clean, i avoided sitting on it for the entire stay.

The best part about resort was its pool. We spent most of our time in the warm pool which could be accesed directly from our room (our room number was 152). What we also loved was it didnt smell like chlorine. You could also access the beach via a 5min walk and it was a lovely beach and was patrolled

Resort also had wifi and we found it was cheaper to call and book with them directly rather than on their website or third party.

Was a lovely stay but probably wont come return as the accommodation just needs a good refresh. We usually stay in 4plus star accommodation and i think the accommodation is probably more a 3 star.

I went to Grande Florida with my family. To be honest, Grande Florida is the BEST HOTEL I’ve ever been to at the Gold Coast.
The pool opens at 6.30 in the morning and you can stay in it until 9.30 at night.
We had two bedrooms – a parents’ room and a room for the kids.
You can buy snacks and chips and ice cream at reception.
Families can go to Time Zone and have lunch at lots of different places nearby. And lots more …

Our experience was the same as mentioned in the below post from Kelly W.
When we entered the room, there was an extremely strong smell of bleach, so the cleaners had been there, but the floor was not clean.
I requested a renovated or updated room due to some of the comments and we were told ours was. It was dated, basic and it was clear the owner didn’t really care. The kitchen was old, it was a challenge to cook, ensuite door didn’t close, artwork fallen off the wall and the beds were hard, the worst we have sleep on while on holidays.
The pools are great, and the reason you would consider coming here
The location is also great, it’s very low-key and not as crowded as other areas of the GC.
Unfortunately, I think that the days of this place being full of holidaymakers is behind it. For such a busy period there was only ever up to 10 families or couples across to massive pools, and it became obvious that most of the units now are owned, not holiday rentals. I suspect this is why many comments around the average condition of the units and unfortunately it just didn’t have a holiday vibe over Christmas.
Unfortunately, it felt well short of our expectations.

The grounds & pools are lovely but that’s where it ends. Our 3 bedroom apartment was very dated which would be ok if it was clean but that was not the case. Management needs to do a big overhaul of their housekeeping practises urgently. The state of this apartment was completely unacceptable. Mould on blinds, dust flying off ceiling fans, stained linen & carpet, not even enough cutlery provided for the number of occupants … the list goes on.
VERY disappointing given the high price tag for substandard accommodation.

Two stars, one for the location to the beach and the other for the pool/gardens.

We were given apartment number 1 which was on the ground floor, very dated, mismatch of basic utensils, dirty toilet.

Arrived for check-in but couldn’t drive in as someone was water blasting their car in the entrance. Went and parked in the car park to find someone was already parked in our bay. (The car park is all about dodging personal belongings of owners who store all their crap down there)

Wouldn’t stay again.

Minimum 3 night stay in a 2 bedroom apartment that appeared to be recently renovated so felt modern on arrival but on further discovery there were many flaws. After 2 showers, water became cold, very basic unmatching crockery and cups and a strong smell of bleach throughout apartment on arrival.
No complimentary amenities and a broken shelf in the shower so had to put everything on the floor.
Beds were hard and pillows flat which resulted in a pulled neck muscle requiring physiotherapy on holidays. Only sheets on the bed and a smelly blanket in the cupboard to use when the night temperature dropped.
Only good thing was the pool which was heated and the close access to the lovely beach.

Be warned, there are no elevators in this complex so if you get a top floor apartment, it’s 6 flights of stairs, with luggage/groceries from the parking garage.

That said, the apartment was a very good size, had all the amenities you need, including washing detergent for the clothes washer. Reception has a little shop you can buy essentials from and it’s directly across from the beach. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby and two sensational pools onsite, one heated and one not.

We had a great stay and would come back again, but request a lower floor apartment.

From check in to check out... Awesome. Super friendly staff, very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit, clean modern, awesome facilities, easy parking. The key feature was the heated outdoor pool, we have never spent so much time in a pool!! Everything is near by, definately will return for another extended stay!

We had high expectations for this hotel having admired it from the street for many years. Check in was friendly and great as were the first impressions at the front. But when we were going up the stairwell to reach our room, we were quite repulsed by the poor cleanliness of the stairs. Drink stains on the floor and sticky carpet on the stairs, with dust on door trims and scuff marks on walls and doors. Does management ever check the state of these? The hotel room was fine with lovely renovated kitchen and bathrooms, good sized bedrooms and modern appliances. But there was a lot of dirt and grime in sliding door and window tracks that needed cleaning. On another positive note, the pools were great with plenty of room for guests to spread out. The overall look of the property (apart from the entry area) is dated, with a definitely 80's colour scheme. I would rate this property 3 star, with some good points and some bad points.

The Grande Florida Beachside has two fantastic pools. This is the major draw card to stay. Also conveniently close to the beach. Apart from the pools and location there is not much else going for it. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment had a broken washing machine and Dishwasher and was missing some basic utensils in the kitchen. The apartment is outdated and the stair cases really dirty. A family member stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and found it to be missing basic utensils, glasses etc from the kitchen and also outdated. Not worth the $5200 for the 10 nights in January.

Hi to be honest I never took much notice of the games room, but I did see kids in there. I have stayed there 3 times and there is sooo much to do with the 2 large swimming pools plus beach and park across the road BBQ areas in the resort. My older kids loved it.

It has some video games in it last time I was there, we rented through miami/burleigh real estate for a 2 bed apartment and it was well equipped and 1 minute walk to the beach. They also have 2 large pools with one heated for the cooler months.

Hi Judy, We Stayed in a 3 bedroom ground Floor appartment opposite the pool which was also quite at night. The appartment also had a washing machine. There are about 5 steps leading up to the front door. The balconies are large on the ground floor. The appartment also has a ensuite in the main bedroom. Hopefully this answered your question. Have a nice stay we did. Kind Regards Grahame
