Room 29 - DIRTY , UN HYGIENIC , OLD & UNSAFE. I have stayed on the Gold Coast many times for surf carnivals but have never come across a more run down unit for over $210 per night. Carpet stairs broken with nails exposed. Dust so think it made you shiver. Broken fittings and fixtures. No working TV. Paint falling off walls. No intercom. Permanent rental domestics in front of our child.🤨 We have named it the Crystal Meth Hotel. I have never put a review in my whole life. We tried to leave early and raise issues without success. CRYSTAL METH HOTEL.........We won’t be back.

Have been here before and it was nice, this time horrible. Noise from renovations next unit no peace and quite. Toilet blocked up, toaster didn't work hole in wall in one of the bedrooms. No complimentary tea or coffee, no Wifi had to pay for that. The pool was even used at about 11.00 at night. The unit was clean but basic. Won't be going back again

At first I did not want to do this review but after some thought I don't want other people to go through what my family went through. (We rented 2 apartments.) Let me give you a little history first. Crystal Beach was my favorite destination every time I visited the Gold Coast. You could even say it was a home away from home. The first time I spent time here was nine years ago. Since then I have rented the accommodation here a total of 3 times…. until now. I’ve seen managers come and seen managers go. Let me start with some positives. Its location is perfect, 45 seconds from the beach, 5minutes from the airport, 30 minutes from the Gold Coast city center and 2 minutes from the Gold Coast highway turnoff that goes to Wet'n'Wild, Movie World, Dreamworld etc. (40 minute drive once on the highway.) Most of all it has a nice heated pool and Spa which was well maintained and inspected every morning by a staff member and secure underground car parking that was great. Now for the negatives. (Please take note that this was not like this in the past.) There are two people who manage this facility. One of the managers is extremely terrible, rude and is hardly in the office and your best contact is the answering machine. This same manager has no people skills whatsoever and will talk over you while you are speaking and talk down to you at the same time and is only interested in your money and that’s it. The other manager is nice and considerate but unfortunately is overruled by the “ruder” one. All I can say to anyone is “Do not make a booking at this place”, stay away! Don’t pay a deposit or your money is gone! Our rooms were in poor condition, furniture was rusted, power points were dangerous and some did not even turn off. Some electrical items did not work or just stopped working altogether. We were not given fresh linen on the 10th day and the cleaners are you! (Or face a $70+ fee.) The reception was even empty for over 48 hours over one of the weekends and I saw people even trying to get in but eventually left. The craziest thing that happened during our stay is that they were literally renovating around us, and at one stage even removed our door leaving our apartment open to anyone. (At least we were there that day!) And at times we were trapped in our room due to the renovations and couldn’t plan anything much on those days. I will never recommend this place to anyone ever again nor will I stay here ever again. Many bad things happened here during my stay but if I explained them all this would have become a small novel and not a review. One particular manager in this place has completely ruined it. Worst of all is that I hate doing reviews like this but sometimes people need to be warned that some places are not what they really appear like in the pictures or the ratings that are given.

View of 3 guests - ages 21 to 29! Apartment number 38. 100% would stay here again in this apartment number! Was very weary on arrival considering some of the recent views, but I have to disagree with them. Ideal location! Bus stop right outside so was able to get a bus from Gold Coast airport. Easy to catch the 700/760 down to Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta, Tweed, basically anywhere! Easy to get to Broadbeach South for tram to Surfers Paradise & to Varsity Lakes into Brisbane! Amazing view of the beach. As others have said the balconies do over look one other. The Reception was closed when I arrived but I was emailed and had a text of how to get my keys - very organised! Free wifi was available via the Crystal Beach Hotspot! Free & super fast - wasn’t expecting to have wifi at all because the Apartment charge of €20/1.5GB was a rip off! Foxtel TV! Magazines, books and tonnes of leaflets in Reception to read! Everything we needed in the kitchen including Sistema tubberwares x3, very modern decor, generous sized bedrooms, a few basics like 1 use washing up liquid, dishwasher detergent & laundry powder! Washing machine & drier. If you are lucky enough to get a modern clean apartment like No 38 then this is AMAZING value for the location! All linen good quality and clean - bed linen and bath towels! Despite being so close to the Airport we didn’t hear the planes at all! 10mins on the bus to a Coles Supermarket at The Pines Elanora! Aldi, Mc Donalds, Subway, Banks and a Pharmacy + lots more at the shopping centre! Whirlpool spa tub alongside the pool. The Whirlpool is really warm & powerful! Sun loungers around the pool with an unspoiled View of the beach! Couldn’t of asked for more! Thank you so much! Shower pressure isn’t all that good. No frying pan and only one rack in the oven if there was anything that could be improved! Also no where to recycle - only a wheely bin! Would be easy to add recycling point! Friendly maintenance staff & the communal areas are well looked after!
