Hosts were fantastic and very helpful 😃 we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the bay. The views were amazing and could be seen from not only the main windows and balcony but also from both the bedrooms. We also enjoyed using the pool on the ground floor. Although it was small it was very clean and tidy and we enjoyed out time in it. We used the hopo ferry which was recommended to us by the hosts, it had only been running for a couple of months and was fantastic. I would highly recommend it as it has several stops that you can get on and off of it. The area is great and has several places to eat within easy walking distance. I will definitely be returning here for my next holiday to the Gold Coast.

The apartment was fantastic. Very spacious, clean and had a comfortable bed. The views are fabulous. Staff are friendly. It was quiet at night. The kitchen had everything we needed. There are some great restaurants within walking distance.

I booked two units at Beconlea some months before our intended stay in January 2025. The booking was through Agoda and was paid for through their site. Four days before travel, I called the hotel to ask about parking. They claimed to not have a booking and that they don't deal with Agoda anymore. They refused to honor the booking but said that the units I had booked were available to me if I cancelled through Agoda and then booked directly through the hotel. I was then quoted prices at least 70% more than I had paid through Agoda. What a disgrace - I have never received such poor customer service at any hotel. I called Agoda, who then called the hotel, but they wouldn't budge. Agoda were wonderful and more than compensated me for the inconvenience. My strong advice is to avoid this hotel altogether, but if you decide to book then be very cautious about using a booking site such as Booking.com, Trivago etc. Based on my experience, how can you have any confidence that your booking will be honored?

Booking for 12 nights made in July 2024 through Agoda for stay Jan 2025. Booking confirmed by Agoda and Beaconlea. Payment made pre stay through Agoda. Messaged Beaconlea through Agoda messaging system 30 mins prior to boarding international flight from New Zealand to be advised that our booking was cancelled as Beaconlea have no contract/further business with Agoda (noting they are still advertising with Agoda) but we can book directly with Beaconlea for more than twice agreed price. No other option but to confirm and pay given flying internationally, in peak tourist season and no time for other options. And when we arrived tried to charge us a further $10 per night from agreed through Agoda messaging. Entered room without warning. Very disappointed with the whole situation. Feels like the whole interaction was underhanded and Agoda is being used to lure people in, and then cancelling with no notice, backing people into a corner for more money. Would not recommend.

My booking & payment was made with Agoda 2 months before my check in date for Xmas eve. The Manager of Beaconlea Apartments was very nervous upon my check in & said his computer system did not line up with Agoda & he did not receive any funds. I contacted Agoda who confirmed the full payment was released & booking was confirmed. It appears the Manager just simply double booked us & left us out on the street on Xmas eve at 4pm - 12 hours from home. No contact was made by the.Manager prior to trying to check in. Agoda were great & refunded my money in full & gave.me a credit for.a.future booking. Terrible experience!

Apartment was exceptional. Spacious, clean, nothing it didn’t have. The views are breathtaking whether it is during the day, sunrise or sunset. Location is perfect. Within. Walking distance to the Grand Hotel. Walking distance to other places to eat. Short drive elsewhere.
Highly recommend this place and cannot wait to return in 2023

We stayed in apartment 34, on the 12th floor, in the middle of the building. The apartment is huge, spacious, very well fitted out & has a big wraparound balcony with amazing views from every room. Thx to a previous reviewer for advising that the higher floors are quieter & middle apartments have the best views. The apartment was built in the 80s & it is still in a time warp, but all appliances & fittings are high quality & it has everything you need in the kitchen, laundry & bathroom.
We loved the big master bedroom with sliding glass doors to balcony, views of the ocean & giant ensuite. The kids room is a little squishy, but has built-in robes, balcony access, views, a little bedside table & lamp and plenty of power points.
The apartments face east, so you get a blast of heat & light throughout morning sunrise if you've left the curtains open to fall asleep watching the lovely views (blackout curtains do a decent enough job blocking the heat out otherwise).
There is a clean & reasonably comfy couch, a big dining table, foxtel & a bit of free wifi (500mb a day - my boys went through our 3MB allowance in one day, lol - after that you have to purchase it). No air-con in our apartment but ceiling fans in every room (I believe some apartments have air con, others don't). Luckily being April it was not too hot (lovely breezy 26 degrees every day), so we didn't miss the aircon. We found it disconcerting using the ceiling fans, as they hang very low and we are a tall family (teenage boys both over 6 feet) - probably only a couple of inches between the fan and a tall person's head (poor design).
Mostly we loved it. The apartment is so much bigger than every other place we have stayed in surfer's, has incredible views, is great value for money & is in a fab location away from the ugly, noisy strip & close to theme parks, harbour town, dining, water sports etc.
BUT... unfortunately, all the mattresses (both singles & queen) were really terrible (springs digging in) & none of us slept well the whole trip. The showers were also pretty terrible (constantly go between hot & cold). We would definitely go back if it weren't for the beds (bit of a deal breaker - all returned with sore backs). All the apartments are individually owned though and from the photos it looks as if some have been updated, so may have better beds. Worth asking the caretakers for their advice (or reading reviews carefully to find out which apartments are best).
The apartment staff are great, very friendly, helpful and good at their jobs. The apartment was very clean (all surfaces on all the white cabinetry wiped clean for example), as were the common building area and grounds (pool, BBQ, foyer). When we arrived at 10.30pm on Sat night there was nowhere locally to get anything to eat. The caretakers (a nice couple who live there and manage everything) gave us some food from their own fridge. They also helped us out a couple of times with printing things from the computer (theme park ticket, blue fest ticket). The cleaners do a good job in the apartments.

We stayed here for four nights. Family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids (9,7 & 4)). After a rough start to our holiday with a rental car mixup at the airport, we finally made it to the accommodation - and our holiday really started! Ian & Robyn were fantastically helpful and we received an upgrade to a 3 bedroom apartement which was massive! Had everything we needed and such AMAZING VIEWS! Beautiful! Great location with free parking - out of surfers but close enough to everything. While we were carless - Ian ever gave us a ride to Seaworld for the day - so appreciated and they really went the extra mile! Thanks so much guys - you made our holiday :-)

We (4 adults and a toddler) stayed at Beaconlea in Oct for 7 nights. We were on the 5th floor and all rooms faced the sea. Good for views but very sunny and hot in the early morning if sleeping in. The pros: great views, free undercover parking, clean apartment, fully equipped kitchen, close to beach and restaurants, wonderful managers, great value and relatively quiet. The cons: no washing powder and enough toilet paper to last around 5 days, no bathtub and the sink was too high for my toddler to reach. I understand that it is supposed to be self contained but it isn't very practical to buy a whole bundle of toilet paper rolls and a small pack of washing powder just for a week. I would recommend that Beaconlea sell some necessities at their Office mainly toilet paper rolls, washing powder (in individual packs) and dishwashing powder. However, the Managers are extremely nice and gave me some extra rolls and also some batteries for my toddler toy. I would recommend family or groups with their own transport to live here who prefer to be out of the bustle of surfers paradise but close to the theme parks/ southport park, harbour town outlet and the beach.
