Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Currumbin Sands was simply fantastic, I live locally and my family likes to stay on the Gold Coast to take little trips throughout the year. My kids are now in high school and the type of serviced apartment and amenities they desire have changed a bit. This place was perfect for my two eighth graders. The property looks a little old from the outside but it is well maintained and the rooms are very spacious. They had a smart TV so we could stream movies and a large table big enough to set up a 1000 piece puzzle which was a great bonus. I was surprised at how much sand and ocean we could see from the second floor, view was great and beach access just a short two minute walk from our door. The bathrooms were dated but also large and had all the things you need, full washer dryer and a bathtub too. The BEST part (aside from the ocean views) was the pool near the beach block. It had a large pool with water feature, a medium sized pool kept at 35 degrees and a spa. It was heavenly. They also had a toilet there and tables with BBQs. We will definitely keep coming back and plan to book here for a week or two each year. It is close to local restaurants (Balboa Italian being a favourite) and two blocks from PBC High. Every single staff person we encountered from the cleaning staff to the front desk was welcoming, kind, courteous and helpful. This place is a hidden gem.

Stayed in apt 54 which was well appointed. Although a bit older, this complex is very well maintained and the low rise setting lovely. Not all apartments have ocean views so ask when booking. Pools were great and access to both surf beach and the more gentle estuary are great for families. Cafe right next door was also great to have for morning coffee.

While the pool and location is nice, I was rather disappointed in our stay. Only one carpark is allowed per apartment, so if there’s a couple families staying together you have to try to find a park outside the gates (and it’s not easy as it’s so busy). I had to park my car on side of busy highway outside and worry about it constantly. Only 6hrs visitor car park allowed and couldn’t leave my car inside the gates for the 6hr allotment during the day without getting a note. No aircon in bedrooms (only lounge room) and in December it’s too hot for that. Only 3GB free wifi allowed for a 6 day stay and could only get one bar of service here with Optus. And it’s just not enough wifi for a modern apartment stay, especially when you’re paying what you do per night. Too many annoyances to properly relax. Wouldn’t come back.

We have stayed here a number of time and always enjoyed it. Absolute beach front. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially as my husband confused our leaving date and they managed to arrange another day in our well appointed unit.

Such a great location for family fun. We spent out time in the pool or just out the gate at the still water playground of Currumbin alley. We bought out stand up paddle board and fishing gear and had lots of fun. The accommodation was just right and the setting was nice and relaxed with lots of families around with similar aged children to ours (to make holiday-friends with!). We'll be back for sure!

We stayed in No 54, it was beachfront with 2 bedrooms. The rooms were clean tidy and roomy. The kitchen facilities and laundry were great. The view was amazing. We had the washing machine break down on the first day and it was replaced that same day. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The pool and spa were great and access to shops, beach, walking trails , Currumbin Creek, airport and attractions were easy. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone including families. There is NO lift access. We are definately coming back.

We got a 3 bed 2 bath unit which was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 1 toddler. It was well equipped and clean. The hot pool is amazing, especially on days where the weather was not great for the beach. We had unit on the top floor and in hindsight I should have investigated better as the stairs were tough for the grandmas. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We will look at making this a regular stop for our GC visits.

I give this place 2 stars because the location to the beach is great and the front desk staff was nice. The WiFi here is the worst I’ve felt with in the past 15 years, they were apologetic and promised a new system going in “next week” but there was no other offers of resolution to get by now or compensation for the vacation hours lost chasing WiFi. (I work remotely when vacationing so a 20 minute project becomes 2 hours when you have to leave the property to get internet, even my hotspot cell service was poor here) The key to each apartment is a hard key ($260 if lost) which you need to enter or leave the parking garage, stairwell, and room so if you have multiple people in your group that will want to go up and down throughout the day this is NOT your place. They provided one garbage bag of the cheapest quality they could find (the ripped of you blew in their direction), one dish soap, and nothing else. The salt and pepper shakers were empty in each of our families 4 units so you’ll want to bring literally everything you need for your stay here. It’s a flash to the 90’s with their technology and key system. I will say the grounds are beautiful, tropical, and the pool is nice with three different water temps.

We booked 2x 3 bedrooms and 1 x 2 bedroom both beach front for a large family holiday. We have stayed in this area annually for 12 years now and loved the change of apartments. The hot pool was exceptional! We love being right on the beach and close to Supermarket and cafes etc. The unit have a homely feel and we didn't mind the stairs. Our rooms were clean although one bathroom was a bit dusty. The staff are amazing and helpful, were happy to provide extra blanket as it was cooler weather. Our stay was during school holidays and although they said they were fully booked we did not feel like the place was crowded at all. In fact many times we were the only family in the hot pool area. Would definitely recommend and have already booked for our next holiday.
