Air con - fans in all the rooms Lots of space Room located close to pool Kitchen equipment Pools were suited to little ones but I found them to be crowded Laundry with everything needed Woolworths metro 100m down road Beach easy walk down the road Shuttle bus to theme parks if needed. Felt the price seemed reasonable.
The Bad
The room was not clean. It felt gross to be in. The lighting was terrible, the couch was damp and grimey. There was mould behind the curtains and they were old and gross. We booked a superior 2 bedroom and I thought it would feel nicer being renovated. It wasn't renovated at all! Just newer looking couch placed in there. Was disappointing. We have since moved up to a Big4 resort and it is soooooo much more nicer!!! 100% nicer and more exciting.
Road works loud at night. No lock on balcony sliding door which meant we always had to have eyes on our toddler.
The other let down was there is no real atmosphere at this resort. It's quiet and chill but no oomf which I feel their instagram page etc misleads you to think there is some buzzing activity happening. The front staff are polite but no real enthusiasm etc our new resort has music playing, adults can jump on the waterside with kids (can't at turtle beach), and there is a swim up bar, just more buzz. Turtle beach was underwhelming to say the least.

Overall a decent stay. We travelled in June outside of school holidays so it wasn't too busy. Pros - Tidy rooms Allocated car park Walking distance to shops and beach Restaurant on site, which is convenient but see cons Plenty of pools and deck chairs Activities for kids best suited 6-10
Cons - Restaurant overpriced for cheap grub The layout is incredibly confusing and the signage isnt clear. I still haven't found the arcade. The maps aren't clear either and I have bumped into many patrons trying to follow maps also The security with lots of locks is comforting but some doors need turtle key and others need room key and it isn't clear..could easily be rectified with a picture of a turtle

Having stayed here a few years ago and liking it, I was worried reading some reviews about the rooms needing maintenance and a refurb. We were staying as part of Accor and so happy with our 2 x 2 bedroom apartments that were all nicely renovated and on the ground floor. Kids loved the play park, parents loved the deck for drinks and food, staff were very friendly and efficient, and we were also happy to just pop across the road for other food options such as Thai, cafe, kebabs, pizza, bottle shop, convenience store, etc. Also went to the beach a few mornings with the kids, there was roadwork so it was a longer walk than normal but easy and safe. The washer/dryer took a long time to dry but found that just hanging them out on the clothes horse on balcony did the trick. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I very rarely give a negative review but after reading 1600 reviews before booking this resort thinking it would be fantastic unfortunately I cannot give this more than a 2-star review. We are very disappointed. The room itself was good and clean however there were cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom. We stayed as a family of 4 in a 2 bedded room and were only given one towel each. One would think that housekeeping would change towels each day but we did not see a housekeeper in our stairwell of rooms once! We had to wash the towels that were in the room when we arrived so they weren't soaking wet and we had no bin bags to change the rubbish over once the bin was full.
Checking in - you have to pay a $200 bond regardless. If you are travelling with a larger family, good luck because you go up 4-5 flights of stairs. No there are no lifts.
Parking - is free and the parking spot is dedicated to your room number however it's so unsafe with the corners. If people aren't paying attention it's an accident waiting to happen. The kids are- great for the kids. This is why we booked it. They have endless but the 2 kids small slides but if your child is small, again an accident waiting to happen cos they can plough themselves straight into the wall, so this was unsafe. fun Your staff and or lifeguards if you want to call them then are qualified. I had to ask 2 guards where we could get some pool towels only to be told she didn't know because she was new. I'm sorry but do your staff get a work orientation day to tell them where things are if needed etc, no. She had to ask 2 other staff members before we got our answer only to find out we had to walk over to reception which is on the other side of the resort next to the other building to get one. Then, we were charged $5 for each towel. Absolute joke considering we paid $400 a night.
Dining-in option at the cafe, I call it a cafe because it wasn't a restaurant. The staff (especially the one with long blond hair) was rude and arrogant towards us because we asked a couple of Qs about the size of the meals and all we got in return was rudeness. ‘MEH’ Food is over priced. We ended up deciding to do the takeaway option as the area is cluttered and too small. It was pretty sad actually, especially again for what you pay.
Check Out Day - rude front desk staff. Only one working the desk at a busy time of the day. When I asked if they could take the money out of our meal we billed for the room we were told it wasn't an option and we had to pay the full amount on the spot. Again rude and she had an attitude. Checking out of our room - you are EXPECTED to trace ALL your rubbish. It's too much for house keeping or if you even have housekeepers because we didn't see one the whole time. And.… going down 4 flights of stairs was a total pain and inconvenience, again for $400 a night. We shouldn't be expected to do that.
We won't stay again. We stayed for the kid's atmosphere and the kid's play areas but it was very disappointing and not worth $400 a night.

We booked this trip through a package deal at a travel agent, and he warned us it’s a bit “tired” at the resort. Looking at all the pictures online, I thought I don’t mind a bit of dated decor, because the place is in a great location and has awesome pools, plus free car parking.
Unfortunately tired was an understatement for our unit, number 51. Everything apart from the kitchen just felt a bit “dirty”. The unit needed a good day and a half shut down and deep cleaned. There were random dirty marks throughout but particularly in our bathroom. The bedroom curtains, I could rant about for days. In what world do you put beds under a window and have the flimsiest piece of fabric (calling it that because it looked like a haphazardly sewed together sheet of thin cotton) that sits above the sill? Sleeping in, impossible. My 3 year olds room we ended up hanging blankets from the curtain rods so she could actually sleep. The curtains weren’t even attached properly! Lazy management in my opinion.
Another thing that was warned about was that there are no lifts. So to take a pram and a small child through the carpark to your unit you have to scan in, push open a heavy fire door, and hold it open while you wrestle everything through because there’s no attachment point for the doors. I get it, they’re fire doors and securely locked, but surely a timed release could work? Trying to get my 3 year old through while carrying luggage and the pram we almost took her out when we didn’t realise how heavy and fast the door shut.
No air con in our rooms, only the ensuite room, which sucked in the heat.
Facilities were the best part - loved the activities available for kids. However, the mushroom pool which is the best one for littlies was under maintenance, due to be reopened halfway through our visit weather permitting. When I say I didn’t see a single tradesman there the whole time I’m not even joking, and we had sunny days for the first half, unfortunately delays due to the weather was the excuse we were given as to why it ended up being shut the entire time we were there. The main pool by the reception was fine, but would be good to have some warning of when the dips are because we were all caught off guard by a sudden dip in the floor.
Staff were nice and location was great. Will be even better when the transport upgrade grade is finished. The resident birds are cute.
Wouldn’t stay again, have told friends about our stay and how disappointing it was.

Hi Frenchie, We’re truly sorry to hear that your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We take all feedback seriously, as we are committed to improving our guest experience. We regret that you had issues with the cleanliness of your unit and the curtains, as we strive to maintain high standards. We’ll be addressing your concerns with our housekeeping team to ensure this does not happen again. Regarding the lack of lifts, we understand how challenging it can be when traveling with small children and luggage, and we apologize for any inconvenience. We will review the accessibility of the property to see if improvements can be made. We also regret that the mushroom pool was unavailable during your visit. Weather-related delays are sometimes unavoidable, but we understand your frustration. Turtle Beach resort is AMAZING! I’m actually gobsmacked by some of the negative reviews on here! My family just had a one week stay at Turtle Beach (1.5 and 4.5 year old) and I can not rate this resort highly enough!!! We caught a local bus from the airport (less than $5 each/one way), which dropped us off right out the front of the resort. The resort itself is amazing! Both kids and adults are fully taken care of! There are three kids pool areas, two with water slides and an adults pool area. There is an on-site cafe / restaurant- the coffee and food was amazing! The resort has a gym, sauna and a little movie theatre showing movies across the day. For anyone seeking some time out they also run a kids club! When we were there they had 3 hours sessions running three times a day and for $30/session it’s a steal! They also do FREE 30min kids activities across the day, LEGO building, arts and crafts etc There’s tennis courts, putt putt mini golf, plenty of BBQs to be able to cook and eat outside and a kids playground. There is also a Woolies literally a 3min walk from the resort and a heap of nice restaurants (Italian, Thai, Japanese) and take way places (eg fish n chips, kebabs) across the road from the resort. A huge shopping centre is also just a short bus / Uber ride (or 15min walk) just down the road. Our init was great! Two bedroom, two bathroom, large living area and balcony. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place if you are a family with kids or even without kids, there is so much to do for both adults and kids, we are already planning another trip back here for later in the year!

This place has been one problem after another! From booking us into a supposedly refurbished room with paint flaking off the fan onto the bed, kitchen cupboards falling off! We had walked up the 3 flights of stairs with bags to be greeting by this site for $3000 for 10 nights!!! We then walked all the way to reception it’s a hike to have to walk up another 3 stories to see another apartment which looked a little better at first! The phone didn’t work to contact reception or the cafe to order over priced food and drinks ( more expensive then the theme parks and no red meat on the small menu) the dryer had that much rust it was our clothes I cleaned it 4 times with stuff I had to go buy! A 10 day stay gets your room serviced but not till the 8th day!! Water slides close early even on weekends 5pm so if you are at theme parks you get no use of these. I wouldn’t normally do a review but we haven’t had a holiday in 5 years this is not a cheap place to stay so we felt very let down! Had I read more reviews I definitely wouldn’t have booked this place!

On first arrival, no where to park, only underground parking. Great if you don’t have a large Ute. The lounge in the room had old food stains smeared on it and looked like it hadn’t been wiped in years. Food crumbs underneath the coffee table and the bed looked like it was from 1970. Great pool areas, especially if you want to vape right next to a group of children swimming as one man thought was necessary. The playground was in between two buildings where people could watch from their bathroom (I know because of there was a man watching my daughter). The deck/restaurant area was poorly looked after and food left everywhere. My family and I were there for a total of 2 hours before we decided to check out and leave. The lady at the front desk said she could find us another room and I kindly said no I wanted to get out of there and she responded with ‘no problem’. Not even an inch of trying to make things better for us.
Do not waste your money.

We just stayed at turtle beach for 2 weeks and had the most wonderful time! The kids had a ball. The set up is wonderful with multiple pools, which all have spas, and lots of shallow water areas for small kids, waterslide pool and the splash zone, the tennis court, beautiful gardens and mini golf. The location is great close to shops, take away stores and a 2 min walk to the grocery store and across the road from the beach! Also pretty close to the theme parks and other great areas to explore. The apartment was perfect, very comfortable, clean, everything you need. The staff were also all so wonderful, everyone was so helpful and friendly. We would happily stay here again!

This is one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed at. Terrible service, rooms are terrible, not even proper sheets or a doona on the bed. The roller bed broke middle of the night, not even made up properly, sheets not even on the bed no mattress protector and the bed smelled. The room smells, can’t even fit a suitcase in the room, door came of the hinges. My son had to sleep in the kitchen. They charged extra for toilet paper only given 1 roll for 8 nights and we’re charged extra for 5 people. There are just too many things. Booked the tennis courts and they were double booked. Room noisy, I tried to call the manger it took multiple times for them to return my call and couldn’t care less when they called. We needed to check out early because my Nana passed away and we needed to travel home with plenty of notice they refused a refund. One extremely disappointed guest. I would never stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend the resort.

Hi fossyMc,
Our 2 Bedroom Superior apartments have had all of the cane furniture removed and been replaced with a more solid furniture package and fresher style of decor.
Thank you.
Hi there,
it was a quite a large sized apartment with two bedrooms & the main bedroom had a queen/king size bed with en-suite including a shower & toilet!
The second bedroom was smaller & had two single beds set up & in the wardrobe there was an additional fold out style single bed that could be set up as well!
The lounge room, dining & kitchen area was nice & open area with heaps of room!
Their was a separate toilet & the main bathroom contained a shower over bath & also a full size washing machine & dryer too!
I hope this helps!
I think if your were to use the additional fold out single bed they would have some sort of additional charges for linen but you can check out their website for more information too!
Happy holidays!
