This vibrant café precinct borders the famous Hedges Avenue ‘Millionaire’s Row’ and is home to an array of boutique bars and restaurants. This area combines a family friendly beachy atmosphere, with an ultra-trendy vibe that is utilised by surfers, cyclists, holidaymakers and healthy lifestylers. At the southern end, the beachfront offers park, playground and barbecue facilities, ideal for young families and offers an enjoyable sealed walking track that connects to the picturesque lookout at North Burleigh Hill. Our motel is about giving customers value for money but not taking away from their experience. We provide clean and comfortable rooms with very friendly service. We pride ourselves on ensuring our customers have the best trip possible whilst staying with us at Surf Street.

Basic and no frills but very clean and all the necessary things were there. Surprisingly quiet inside rooms given location on GC highway. Good value for money. It’s a place to sleep and then head out for whatever you came to the coast for , suited me perfectly. Friendly staff .

Given that this is a drive up three star hotel we were very happy with the comfort, service and cleanliness. A good size room. A couple of older features that need an update, but a clean tidy and very comfortable couple of nights sleep. Air-conditioning (a little old unit) and a ceiling fan. This room was well located for our needs. A good basic room, that is everything you'd expect of an older drive up motel. Free parking. Clean. Comfortable. Close to Nobby Surf Club, close to restaurants and bottle shop.

Very small motel with 8 rooms only. Very clean, comfortable and welcoming. 3 minute walk to beach and 5 minute drive to Nobbys Beach, and cafes, restaurants etc. Owner must have green fingers as garden, although small, is really attractive and well kept with a small garden setting and smoking area. Easy parking. Bed was exceptionally comfortable, microwave available along with coffee and tea makings. Large clean bathroom and extra blankets, hairdryer and small room heater. Very reasonable price for the area.

We booked Surf Street Motel because it was close to a function that we were attending. The room was very comfortable for our short stay and the place was a few minutes walk to the beach and some cafes. We stayed in a room with a queen bed and a single bed. The photos are very indicative of the what to expect. The bed and pillows were very comfy and the A/C kept us cool on a hot evening. The water pressure was a bit low, but manageable. The room had a kettle, tea, coffee and milk and also some toiletries. The microwave came in handy to heat a quick snack before we headed out for the evening. There was also a hairdryer, in case you need one. All in all, it was lovely budget stay. I would stay again if I was in the area.

Stayed here overnight when visiting friends and our usual place was unavailable. Room itself was fine, bed was comfy, shower worked well, parking is good and sheets were clean. Unfortunately though we were placed at the far end of the complex, right next to what was essentially the smoking area for the motel. The room stank of cigarettes from the moment you walked in the door, it must have been coming in under the door as the ‘smoking area’ was about a meter away. See photo I have attached. If you come here just make sure you request not to stay in room 8!

We just stayed one night, arriving late from the airport. It‘s a clean room and would say good value for money for Surfers Paradise. Beach is just a coule of blocks away, same as a nice beach cafe for having breakfast.

The room had everything we needed! It was clean and the beds were comfortable. It was very close to the beach, coffee shops, restaurants and other fun activities. Stefan and Grace went beyond any other motel we've stayed at. They made us feel like family! If we are ever in Australia, we will definitely stay here again!

Hi Laura, Grace and I would just like to say a massive thank you for such a great review. We enjoyed telling you and showing you all the great spots on the Gold Coast to visit. If we made your time on the Gold Coast more enjoyable then we have done our jobs. Grace and I both enjoyed getting to know David and Sara as well. We hope that you all visit us again soon or if we come to the USA we will be sure to get in touch. Kind Regards, Stefan and Grace Surf Street Motel Management

We just wanted a one night stopover,as booked a long term apartment the next day. This was the only Motel that was open @ 7:30pm,it seems all the others we tried closed @ 5:30. Not a way to run a business.Good clean basic motel, which as most of them needs a refurb.Good hosts, worth a try.

Booked this Motel more for nostalgia purposes from bygone years, although the price was also a factor considering I was needing 4 nights accomodation - paid just $85/night so for what I got was reasonable. Rooms are older style (approx. 40 years old) therefore of that style, small room, a side bench , small rear bench and bar fridge and a bathroom thats original in condition. Small air con unit worked well and the ceiling fan was all that was necessary overnight. This room had a double and single beds (both comfy) so floor/other space was minimal. At time of check in was provided a small jug of milk for tea & coffee and bathroom had basic toiletries. Rooms have access to wifi (free) and worked in the room on 2 devices When I arrived couldn't actually get into the office, screen door is locked- whilst this is probably just normal security practices does leave you a questioning feeling is the Motel being right on the highway safe re: room security. Had to wait for someone to come, once overcome this was given the room key and able to look after myself. The Motel does not offer any breakfast (at all) so you're heading out. And even though the staff indicated they wouldn't enter the room for the duration for the stay I would have thought the offer to replace the tea/coffee, garbage bin and towels each day would not be too inconvenient. Overall it's not flash, but comfy. If I was paying more I'd be seeking the couple of items above being addressed. Would I stay here again for this length of stay ( in all honesty probably not) but if I just needed somewhere to put my head down and get a decent sleep this place this Motel could be an option. If you wanted to compare I'd probably do some rate research for the motels along the Mermaid Beach/Nobby Beach strip and get the options and value your seeking prior to committing.

Stayed here for GC600 with a friend. Libby was very helpful and gave us what we needed. Motel is close to public transport and shops which was convenient. Room itself is quite small, with an unpleasant odour - bit of cologne fixed that. Bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom is dated. Small aircon unit (box style) that didnt really do the trick, however a ceiling fan is right above the beds which is good. Overall, its a budget motel, not a bad spot to put your head down for a night or two. Wouldn't recommend staying longer though, you may get cabin fever. We paid $100/night which was good. One of the managers said we were getting a really good deal, but to be honest if it were more expensive i would have stayed elsewhere.
