Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are on our 4th night at this wonderful hotel. I couldn’t wait to write a review. Sadly we checkout tomorrow. I would like to first of all compliment the staff who are friendly, efficient and couldn’t do enough for you. Always checking that your every need is met. The staff at the pool were wonderful, we had a cabana for a couple of days which made our time extra special. The breakfast buffet each morning had plenty of variety and a special mention to the pastry chef ~ yum!!! Dinner at night was lovely, the service brilliant, and the food was delicious. We had a superior suite which was very spacious with a lounge and bedroom. This was a staycation celebrating 2 birthdays. We had a wonderful time, the pool of the hotel is huge. We are looking forward to returning one day soon.

We arrived at the Imperial (previously known as the Versace) and were greeted by a lovely concierge. We were staying for 3 days. We were disappointed that on the last night at 0230 hours we experienced a constant dripping noise that was coming from the drains, I muffled the sound by placing towels and bath robe over the drain holes. The noise continued (laid awake until 0500) when a loud noise was coming from the drainpipes in the roof. It sounded like water hammering. On check out I reported this to management and advised I had a recording of both noises, to which they advised they did not need to hear it. I asked to be contacted in relation to the noise, to which I was ignored. The concierge deducted $20 from our minibar bill, which were thought was part of the special $150 deal we had toward food. Upon our arrival home, I received an email request for feedback to the premises, I provided feedback two weeks ago and to date I have NOT received any reply. It is disappointing that management has no customer service or foresight to contact customers when a complaint is made. Obviously, they do not care about customer service. I waited 2 weeks to give the venue a chance to reply but alas nothing heard. On a side note, the overpriced steaks were not what was stated in the menu. It was a minute steak with a very hefty price, when complaint was made the waitress advised they were having issues with their suppliers, not my problem. I then ordered a cocktail and after taking my first sip, I discovered the glass had lipstick on it, I wasn't wearing lipstick, again I have a photo of this too. We ordered dessert, which after 1 hour did not arrive. The furniture needs a through clean, it is old, tired and dirty, not what we expected at all. All in all, we were disappointed with the whole experience.

Stayed here for a few nights and couldn’t fault it, as soon as you walk into the hotel you can see its quality. Our room was decent size and had lovely decor, with a good size bathroom and a powerful shower. The swimming pools are first class and the outdoor area was very nice , would definitely stay again!

While the Hotel accomodation and location are very good the downside is that 10 days after leaving they have still not released the bond. This is unacceptable and takes away from a positive experience.

Absolutely terrible. The hotel itself is old and out dated. The staff were lovely and very hospitable, however, lacked abundance… Our room air conditioner was so loud! Called to get it checked, apparently that’s normal for air conditioning to be that loud! Definitely not. Could not sleep the whole 3 nights we were there. Went for dinner at the restaurant. There was shell all through my dish and couldn’t eat it. After complaining got it taken off the bill. Ordered a cheese platter it was so poor. I think my 5 year old could make a better one. Buffet breakfast was lovely. However, they tried to charge us for 2 kids eating breakfast there (we didn’t even bring our children on this holiday). We had to argue with them at check out that we did not have children… Absolutely crazy! Overall, we would never stay here again. Food was so overpriced- loud air conditioning and uncomfortable beds.

My husband and I chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary by staying here for 3 nights. What a great decision. From the moment of check in, to checking out, our experience could not have been better. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, helpful and eager to accommodate. We had buffet breakfast each morning, which was continually restocked and laden with delicious options. We ate by the pool, and the food was hot and tasty. We ordered room service for dinner, and this was delicious and well presented. We ordered A la carte in Il Barocco and were impressed with the whole experience. Candles on the table made the night. We enjoyed our stay so much, we actually didn't leave the hotel. We have stayed in a number of hotels and were so happy that here the whole vibe is to take care of the customer and go above and beyond. We will definitely be back.

There was rubbish just outside our room as soon as we checked in to our room. We called the cleaners but after 3 hours, the rubbish was not only still there, but it actually increased (most likely coming from a room above). This time, we complained directly to the reception as we headed outside for dinner. Reception said they would get it cleaned, but once again the rubbish was still there after we came back from dinner. In the end, the rubbish was still outside our room by the time we checked out the next morning. We also found a cockroach doing the rounds in our room in the morning.

Booked for 8 people for high tea on a Sunday afternoon. We were placed in front of two coffee tables. The service was slow. The sun beamed trough the windows making it very uncomfortable to sit there. We asked to be moved as the heat was terrible. The staff said there is nowhere else for us to go. The heat through the windows was so strong that several items on the top layer of our high tea melted. I have been to a lot of high teas but this one would be the worst. Certainly not 5 stars.

The proof is in the pudding and why you should take other peoples reviews with a grain of salt. My experience here earlier this month couldn't have been more different from the many negative reviews. I've been here twice. First 10 years ago and a few weeks back. Upon arrival, the concierge and check in was seamless. Summer on Check-in was pleasant and provided a warm welcome. We were provided all the details on the hotel and what inclusions we had, and how to use them. Our room was ready 1 hr prior to check-in time. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. There is no sign of bad wear and tear like other reviews. Rooms were serviced before mid afternoon. The bar and breakfast service were polite and speedy, and the food was good quality. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay and would rebook when we next get the chance. P.S. recommend heading next door to LaLuna Dining for a great meal and nice outlook
