Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for a few nights and couldn’t fault it, as soon as you walk into the hotel you can see its quality. Our room was decent size and had lovely decor, with a good size bathroom and a powerful shower. The swimming pools are first class and the outdoor area was very nice , would definitely stay again!

While the Hotel accomodation and location are very good the downside is that 10 days after leaving they have still not released the bond. This is unacceptable and takes away from a positive experience.

Absolutely terrible. The hotel itself is old and out dated. The staff were lovely and very hospitable, however, lacked abundance… Our room air conditioner was so loud! Called to get it checked, apparently that’s normal for air conditioning to be that loud! Definitely not. Could not sleep the whole 3 nights we were there. Went for dinner at the restaurant. There was shell all through my dish and couldn’t eat it. After complaining got it taken off the bill. Ordered a cheese platter it was so poor. I think my 5 year old could make a better one. Buffet breakfast was lovely. However, they tried to charge us for 2 kids eating breakfast there (we didn’t even bring our children on this holiday). We had to argue with them at check out that we did not have children… Absolutely crazy! Overall, we would never stay here again. Food was so overpriced- loud air conditioning and uncomfortable beds.

My husband and I chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary by staying here for 3 nights. What a great decision. From the moment of check in, to checking out, our experience could not have been better. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, helpful and eager to accommodate. We had buffet breakfast each morning, which was continually restocked and laden with delicious options. We ate by the pool, and the food was hot and tasty. We ordered room service for dinner, and this was delicious and well presented. We ordered A la carte in Il Barocco and were impressed with the whole experience. Candles on the table made the night. We enjoyed our stay so much, we actually didn't leave the hotel. We have stayed in a number of hotels and were so happy that here the whole vibe is to take care of the customer and go above and beyond. We will definitely be back.

There was rubbish just outside our room as soon as we checked in to our room. We called the cleaners but after 3 hours, the rubbish was not only still there, but it actually increased (most likely coming from a room above). This time, we complained directly to the reception as we headed outside for dinner. Reception said they would get it cleaned, but once again the rubbish was still there after we came back from dinner. In the end, the rubbish was still outside our room by the time we checked out the next morning. We also found a cockroach doing the rounds in our room in the morning.

Booked for 8 people for high tea on a Sunday afternoon. We were placed in front of two coffee tables. The service was slow. The sun beamed trough the windows making it very uncomfortable to sit there. We asked to be moved as the heat was terrible. The staff said there is nowhere else for us to go. The heat through the windows was so strong that several items on the top layer of our high tea melted. I have been to a lot of high teas but this one would be the worst. Certainly not 5 stars.

The proof is in the pudding and why you should take other peoples reviews with a grain of salt. My experience here earlier this month couldn't have been more different from the many negative reviews. I've been here twice. First 10 years ago and a few weeks back. Upon arrival, the concierge and check in was seamless. Summer on Check-in was pleasant and provided a warm welcome. We were provided all the details on the hotel and what inclusions we had, and how to use them. Our room was ready 1 hr prior to check-in time. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. There is no sign of bad wear and tear like other reviews. Rooms were serviced before mid afternoon. The bar and breakfast service were polite and speedy, and the food was good quality. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay and would rebook when we next get the chance. P.S. recommend heading next door to LaLuna Dining for a great meal and nice outlook

We were fortunate to have been guests when the Palazzo Versace Hotel first opened on the Gold Coast. The design, luxury, glamour and ambiance reflected the creativity of the Fashion Icon himself. We have referred friends who have been equally impressed with their stay. It has been a favourite of ours on each visit to the Gold Coast ,either for the Seafood buffet and/or Afternoon high tea. Our last visit was before the Covid outbreak when we celebrated my Sister-in-laws birthday. She raved about the experience and wanted to go again on our recent trip for her birthday. We decided to call in the day before and have afternoon tea. From the moment we entered the depreciation was glaringly obvious. There were very few guests present. The furniture looked tired and shabby, The carpet in the side hall was stained. We were the only customers in the lounge area apart from a staff member having a coffee. We ordered afternoon tea which when it arrived comprised of 2 suspicious looking savouries, 2 sandwiches that were obviously from the fridge and some cakes which were highly coloured and aged looking. We sampled the sandwiches and were not brave enough to risk the rest. The tea was drinkable. We told the girl who took our payment how disappointed we were at the sub standard “food” . While walking out a staff member who overheard our conversation asked what was wrong and was eager to try and remedy their failure. She called a Manager, to whom I gave my business card and she said she would have to consult another Manager who may consider a voucher as compensation. We have returned home from our trip. Our visit to the hotel was 2 weeks ago. We have not heard from the Imperial Hotel management. They have taken over a magnificent establishment and let it go to ruin during its take over. Another death for the Versace Dynasty. Needless to say WE WILL NOT RETURN Mary Roberts

Beautiful hotel, very opulent/classy. Had a lovely coffee in the atrium, excellent customer service and great choices of food snd drinks. Well worth having a meal or staying. As I have stayed previously when it was Versace. Beautiful rooms with beautiful furniture.
