A superb natural reserve, South Stradbroke Island offers calm inner waterways on one side, virtually untouched native bushland in the centre, and 22 kilometres of pristine surf beach on the other side. Three camping grounds on the island provide a choice of a self-contained cabin, onsite huts and tent sites. There are several ways to get to South Stradbroke Island including boat hire or charter, water taxi or your own private boat. Enjoy delicious meals, refreshments and views at Tipplers Licensed Cafe. Tipplers kiosk supplies basic groceries and camping essentials such as ice and firewood. Facilities include a safe netted swimming enclosure, barbecues and playgrounds. This really is a camping trip to get away from it all!

This is such an amazing camp site that is only minutes away from the Gold Coast. You can only get there by boat but it’s worth it. Awesome facilities, not crowded and wallabies everywhere. Our site was right next to the water, it was nice and quiet and so good relaxing at night near a camp fire. So easy to walk to the surf beach. We didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back there again.

Brilliant!! Just got back from a one night camp out with my two daughters, we stayed in a wallaby hut.. very cosy, cost effective and clean.. great onsite staff, friendly & helpful, would highly recommend to anyone wanting a great camping experience for a weekend or more. 10/10 will definitely be coming back

Perfect for our family of four. The cabin had everything we needed including a perfect hot shower after a day on the Broadwater. 12 minute walk to surf beach. Campground was surprisingly quiet. Had wallabies visiting for water. Perfect combination of being away from it all but with the perks of modern living. Fishing during the day and watching the footy at night. Home refreshed.

Container Cabins Are Fantastic/beds /linen/very soft warm cover /lights to take outside as well as inside /:CLOSE TO SHOWERS /Close To Gas Cooking Facilities/Close to Toilets/“beach front “ All cabins …..just a short walk to the main shop/Food Drinks /pool tables /tv/+much more …..but the Staff Were Fantastic….I had 2 g’kids wth me & the staff were Amazing …..congrats’ to staff & c u nxt time ,Kaptain SaltyDog

What a piece of paradise. Rangers were friendly and very helpful. Grounds clean. BBQ area great, showered hot and clean Every thing you need for camping is right there. Have been going for many years and it just gets better & better

We stayed in a cabin it was immaculate so clean an linen was fresh and beautiful all facilities were clean an easy to access I would recommend this to anyone that wants a beautiful place to relax an enjoy x why travel overseas when you have this amazing Place at your doorstep .

South Stradbroke Island is so close and yet it seems a world away. Camping in shady tent sites by the Broadwater beach is so relaxing. Toilet blocks are well kept and showers are great. The camp kitchen also has lockers available for power needs. The Managers Scott and Bec go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Ice and firewood are available on the island. A great place for a weekend or longer and the fishing is good too.

Cant say enough about accomodation, service, facilities and the friendly staff at tipplers. The shack stay was amazing, comfy and definatly worth it. The staff and operaters have done well and the food at the cafe......delicious!!! Will definatly be back

We had an awesome stay in the one of the shacks at tipplers campground. The shacks are beautifully setup - clean sheets and towels, comfy beds, beautiful views. Firewood and ice can be delivered to your site. Hot showers were great. Perfect, easy, budget friendly getaway.
