Good location- Apartment not inspected before our check-in. Bedrooms fans only operate when light is on? no a/c in bedrooms- bathroom amenities not adequate to the period of stay- no garbage bags in kitchen and we were charged $50 for excess garbage!? no dish washing liquid- price per night $600+ for 2 bedroom apartment- Dated / old lounge / dining furniture Untrained / unpleasant staff at reception ..

This place is a real discovery. We had Appt 71 on 23rd floor, which was excellent - beautifully decorated and well equipped with all necessary amenities. The view from the south-facing duel-aspect balconies was breathtaking. The bed was extra king size (didn’t use the second twin bedroom which overlooked a wonderful sea-view. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful at every turn. We would definitely return.

We specifically chose this building as it is brilliantly positioned. 50 meters from the beach.. 200 meters from an excellent shopping center and just 3 or 4 minutes from a good selection of cafes and restaurants. Being an older building ( a plus- believe me). Our apartment had been nicely renovated .. There was plenty of room to move around .. 2 excellent bathrooms, a separate fully equipped laundry generous kitchen, wrap around balcony and sensational uninterrupted views from the main room, kitchen and bedrooms . The pool is big and sheltered from any wind that might spring up.. Our only suggestion is that there could be more utensil in the kitchen . We were perfectly happy not to go out to dinner but found that a few kitchen essentials were not provided.. like a second chopping board, a strainer for salad making, a couple more pots and pans.. Also .. on a stay longer that 3 days you really need to have more that 2 rubbish bags , dish washing liquid etc.. Nothing major that a trip to the local supermarket didn't fix .. but would have been nice to be replenished every few days.. BUT totally, thoroughly recommended. We will most certainly be back....

After having a great holiday at the Talisman last year, we booked for six weeks of winter warmth and sunshine again. We asked for & received a NW or NE facing unit so that we had views and sunshine. All good, we had apartment 36 (NW), and the weather was wonderful. We had also booked a superior apartment again. This is where it started to come unravelled. We paid for a 'superior' apartment but it felt like a 'standard' apartment. When we arrived, there were new managers/owners of the business. I complained to them about our apartment and said that it didn't appear to be a 'superior' apartment (which cost extra $$ per week) - I was told that "you should see the 'standard' apartments”. The manager said that if we were agreeable she would like to look through the unit at the issues I wa not happy about when she could get away from the office. Neither of us followed this through. The good bits - fairly freshly painted, lovely newish curtains, everything worked (except the vacuum cleaner). Pool and spa warm and great. The Talisman is just over the road from the beach and the Oasis shopping centre with a Woolworths and restaurants etc just five minutes’ walk away. The Talisman itself is the very best location in Broadbeach. The apartment itself: - The apartment just felt grubby. I asked that the loose couch covers be cleaned as I didn't want to sit on them. They were pretty worn as well - see photo post dry cleaning. - Bedding – sheets lovely ironed fresh white sheets changed every week. However, the cotton blankets and bedspreads all needed a wash. The towels were quite thin. The beach towels cost an extra $10 to hire. - All the beds had dust balls underneath them - The shower needed a good scrub (I cleaned it myself when we arrived) - One only available power point in the kitchen area. A double, but one side was already taken up with the WIFI. Our first purchase was a power board so we could use kettle / toaster / charge phones etc. - The stove/ cooktop was clean. The oven racks etc all covered with foil so nothing could be spilt. This meant that nothing cooked properly as no air circulated; so I removed the foil. The cooktop's temperature control was haywire so everything was inclined to either burn or not cook. - The microwave was in the kitchen cupboard - maybe a fire hazard?? - No rangehood or fan in the kitchen. – and a bamboo plate hanging over the hot plates as decoration – now surely that must be a fire hazard. - Personal security/privacy in our apartment – there is no deadlock of any kind and service people come and go as they wish – they knock - if no answer, they just come on in. Cleaners to change linen, the TV repair men, the window cleaners – they are all given the master key. I might add there is no safe in the apartment. Around the apartment: - Two lifts - one or the other was going to be out of service for 8 months from March 2023 which would take it to November 2023. However, before we left this was extended to February 2024! - The wait times could be extensive and the one available lift often very full. - The cleaners had a particularly difficult time waiting for the lift and their two trolleys basically took the whole lift. We did enjoy our holiday, but that was because of the fabulous outlook and the weather (and the pool).

Our family of 4 recently stayed on level 18 (apartment 56) looking out to the beach and south over the park. What an amazing view in all directions from 2 balconies and all the windows. A very spacious apartment with everything you need. Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full size dining table and lounges. The location is absolutely perfect and a lock up garage for the car. The managers of the complex are lovely, answering any questions we had and let us into our apartment a few hours early. The pool was heated in winter which we enjoyed and all very clean. Broadbeach is the perfect place to stay.

We have stayed twice before at Talisman and not had a problem. Last week we arrived and hadn’t been notified that the penthouse above us was being renovated. Some days we couldn’t hear the television because the level of drilling into the concrete floor above us was unbearable. I approached Carolyn the manager and asked nicely could we be moved to a lower floor. This was refused after she said all clients had been prewarned of the work. I have email proof that this was incorrect. She was uncooperative, we will not return to Talisman again .

We stayed here many years ago and loved it! Because of its popularity it’s been hard to get in at times, but finally we managed to secure 10 wonderful days here. Apartment was clean, tidy, modern and had a great views! Swimming pool has all day sun and is heated which was divine on cooler days. Front desk staff were friendly, helpful and manage the complex to a high standard. Wonderful says it all really.

The apartment we checked into was very dated and presented with mould on windows and curtains and at first glance was really quite dirty. After I complained Management offered a re-clean or a refund, however as it was Mothers' Day weekend we couldn't get in anywhere else so I accepted the re-clean, in all honesty I wished I had just gone home. After the clean the following day I found further filth, built up grime around sink taps, excretion in the toilet brush holder, old dried food deposits on, frying pan, cupboard door and kitchen bin. The lounge carpet had not even been vacuumed and the bedroom carpet was full of stains and dirty patches where grime has been walked over a period of time. The only good thing I can say about the place is the sheets were clean, but that was because they were new, according to Management. Talisman Managements excuse for the poor standard was “The contract cleaner’s supervisor did not inspect your apartment prior to you checking in as he was aware of an up-and-coming spring clean due the following week” In my view this does not exonerate them from doing their own checks and certainly should not mean the cleaners don't do one because its due a spring clean! It is with a heavy heart I do this type of review for anyone as I am mindful of the hard times tourism has had over the last couple of years, however I don't want someone else to pay good money for an apartment that is not kept to a clean standard with wish washy excuses. Management have offered a 15% discount on my next stay, however I will not be staying there again nor recommending Talisman to anyone.

Wow, what an awesome weekend we had. Will certainly be back. Talisman is within a short walking distance of the Oasis Shopping Centre and many cafes and restaurants. It was lovely having the patrolled beach just across the road, and Kurrawa Park on the other side. Our apartment was nicely furnished and had everything we needed. The views from the lounge, kitchen and bedrooms were spectacular. The hot tub was so large and really warm. Pool temperature was also great. The apartment, foyer, lifts, garden/bbq and pool area were all immaculately kept. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and we complimented them on how refreshing the entrance smells when you walk in as this made an excellent first impression.
