Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked a wheelchair accessible room for my family and were then contacted to be told that the only sort of wheelchair accessible room the hotel had was one that only had 1 bed and could not fit even an additional rollaway bed. When I pointed out that this was discriminating against families with disabled people I was told I could pay another $300 a night for second room that my daughter could sleep in. So the hotel expects families with a disabled parent to leave their children unsupervised in a different room and pay twice as much as everyone else would for a hotel room. I suggested that the hotel should provide a second room for free and that I would sleep in the second room while my wife and daughter shared the disabled room (even though my wife really needs my assistance) but I was told the best they would do is offer a 10% discount on the 2nd room. It's disgraceful.

Comfy rooms. Facilities fantastic except the pool gets packed. Get to breakfast early because you need to line up for a long time. Nowhere in the room to hang swimmers so we had to get inventive. The restaurants were all booked out so need to book in advance.

Great stay at the Star - book an Exec room which gives access to the 21st Floor exec bar for drinks and canapés. Only real downside was the Isoletto pool deck. Should be adults only - a lot of small splashing unsupervised kids which totally kills the vibe. And bar only open till 5pm in summer?

Amazing stay, prompt service provided without missing a beat. It has been a while since I felt what true 5 star service should have been, and this is it right here at The Star Grand Gold Coast. From check-in, everything was explained clearly, then the exc lounge access and service was great, breakfast at Harvest was amazing - the wide variety of choices and people at breakfast while service is still upheld to its standard. I’d definitely return to stay for my next GC trip. Also, worth mentioning, this one gentleman I came across at Nineteen when I had my birthday breakfast, he is so knowledgeable about their company’s portfolio. Clearly explaining to me about their interstate properties and each of their signature restaurants, he offered me a complimentary mimosa, and he is fantastic. Sorry I forgot his name!

This is a very nice hotel with very comfortable beds, nice modern decor and good service. However it is in the casino and we were not aware it would be that close but we had a good time. They have a massive buffet breakfast, they catered to my allergies and had a proper coffee cafe. I can’t complain as we had an excellent meal at Cuchina Vivo and cocktails a second night. We got $50 credit included in our room each night. We played at the casino one night and it’s right opposite Broadbeach restaurants and pacific fare so we enjoyed the location Why I wouldn’t come back is only because the casino is very much on top of you, Melbournes crown hotels keep the properties very separate and we felt that was the only negative, where as for prob 90% of guests were assuming is a positive. So I’ve given it 4/5 as overall it was a fun two nights.

My wife and I stayed here in December for our yearly trip to the Gold Coast to celebrate our wedding anniversary and absolutely loved every minute of our stay. Everything was perfect, including the facilities, the staff and the location.  The room was modern and very comfortable.  The executive lounge was great, we have been to many executive lounges over the years and this one is right up there.  Look forward to coming back here in the future.

We stayed at The Star Grand @ Broadbeach for 8 nights and had a wonderful time. We called the hotel directly to make the reservation and were able to book an amazing deal which included breakfast, valet parking and access to the executive lounge. The staff in all areas were friendly & professional at all times. The Harvest breakfast is excellent and we want to specifically mention Adam & Alex who were working on the omelette station and their supervisor James who took the time to speak with us. The housekeeping staff were great and kept us stocked with anything we needed. We loved how they came back late in the afternoon to check if we needed anything replaced, they were all very welcoming. Having access to the Executive Lounge was amazing, again the staff were very friendly & professional and looked after all our needs. On the first night I asked about the availability of food to meet a food allergy. Each night after that there was a separate plate of food for my husband. A big thank you to the chefs for accomodating this request. I also asked if a small birthday cake could be made for my husband’s birthday and the chefs prepared a very special cake. Thank you so much. I would also like to mention Julia, Tina & Luciana who worked in the lounge and looked after us. The valet parking & concierge staff were great, this was our first experience using valet parking and the process was amazing. The room was lovely with great views and the bed was super comfortable. Great location with easy access to Pacific Fair. This holiday was a 10 out of 10, thank you to everyone @The Star Grand, Broadbeach. We will be back!

My friends were allowed entry however I was denied due to wearing knee-length denim shorts with a dressy button up shirt in summer. I was wearing dressy, stylish attire but was refused entry for what seems to be no good reason. Avoid this place if you value yourself, males are discriminated against, as the rules don't apply to females.

Great experience from the moment we checked in. The staff were all amazing and very customer focused. Room was clean and very welcoming. A little disappointed with the garden bar menu and the Gin and Jazz was a little underwhelming, but the gin cocktail was amazing. The hotel lobbies smell divine and the whole hotel was clean . Really enjoyed our one night stay and will definitely be back
