Dorsett Gold Coast emerges as a stylish hotel with an atmosphere that guests often find both modern and luxurious, situated near Broadbeach and offering splendid views. Travelers regularly commend the hotel's location and diverse amenities, such as the pool and executive lounge.
However, opinions on the hotel's value for money and room satisfaction show divergence, with some noting unexpected costs, room size, and cleanliness issues. Service quality also varies, with reports of both commendable assistance and slower, less satisfactory interactions.

Detailed Reviews
We really liked the great location in Broadbeach. Great pillows. Probably a good hotel if you just intend to spend lots of time at the Casino
Unfortunately the downsides were ….
We arrived at 4pm and our room wasn't ready. Check in took a long time in spite of them not being busy.
The room was nice but there is no minibar - you need to order items for it and are charged delivery.
The room we had was overlooking a major building site. Thankfully, due to weather they were not working.
The shower had been incorrectly installed so that it could not be lowered. There is no magnifying mirror in the bathroom, no mirror in the bedroom (or wardrobe). The bed is hard.
There is no restaurant in the hotel, just a small bar / coffee shop that does not appear to be open at expected times. (when we arrived at 4pm it was unattended). We said we would have breakfast but we had to walk to the Casino and there was a long queue to get into the restaurant so we went elsewhere. There is no priority for hotel guests.
After being out from 9am -2pm the room was not made up when we returned. Housekeeping was difficult to contact on the phone and on both days we needed to ask for tea bags in the room. The gap under the door allows light & noise from the corridor in overnight.
The large balcony has no furniture on it so is not conducive to sit on. There are no easily moveable chairs or tables in the room. No desk or dining table
All in all, not a terrible stay but expensive for the level of service and the kind of room it was. Personally, I would not stay here again by choice.

+1
The hotel was new, with a stylish, contemporary look. The only problem with the room is that there was no storage space, other than a shelf for a suitcase. There were no drawers for clothing etc. The housekeeping needs improvement too. The teaspoons and mugs were dirty on arrival. The teaspoon had clearly been used and not washed, or just rinsed at most. The dirty mugs remained untouched for the duration of my stay, even after I complained and after I was told they would be replaced. The shower gel, shampoo, and hand wash in the bathroom are fixed to the wall, and can’t be removed without a key. That’s fine except that the housekeeping staff left the hand wash and shower gel near empty for days, and when the shower gel finally ran out, I called them and they had to come into while I was half naked to replace it.

I had booked 2 rooms for my birthday in the executive floor. For being a new hotel needs a lot of improvement. Start off with trying to find were to park if you come the back way from the casino the access is still cut off due to construction of the apartment tower no real signs so park in the main casino car park and walk from there, The foyer looks great, receptionist friendly but then the ordeal with getting to the room. It has 19 floors but only 3 lifts you can wait up to 20 minutes to get a lift when the hotel full so many people complaining. After waiting at check-in got my key but then went to 18th floor but my key would not work. So down I come again wait for the lift and she recoded the keys as asked if I could get my bags brought up but was advised too busy at concierge. I then waited for lifts again got to the same room the lady had written down this time the key work but it was my brothers room a king. I had booked a twin room she was well aware of this as took my ID, so down I go again 3rd time now at 1 hour this time the queue even longer at reception so I went and seen concierge to get him to sort out or the manager as I had my disabled mother in wheelchair I had now left for an hour in the other hotel in the casino. So off I go still long queue and after 30 minutes he had done nothing at concierge desk. I was now in the queue now served by another lady how had no idea so manager came over. 3rd time finally got the keys sorted for my room. You would think even off me a complimentary drink of something as each room i paid for was nearly $500 each. Now we get to room. while new its quite small but modern. My twin room had balcony but very dirty lots of dust outside and no chairs. The bed I have stayed in so many hotels in world and its like sleeping on a rock so uncomfortable. Now it is advertised that the executive rooms have balcony my brother room did not so got ripped off. Prior to the executive lounge opening we did go down to the pool for drink but no were to sit so went to bar behind the reception that was very nice for a drink. What gives this 3 stars is the executive lounge on the 19th floor, great views, lots of seats and lounging areas. The only thing prior to evening drinks you can only get water or coffee, breakfast included up there service in the lounge and food was excellent

The Dorsett is an incredible play to stay, conveniently located in the heart of Broadbeach. The room was absolutely beautifully styled, pretty spacious, and clean with a decent city view and small balcony.
The room had a hanging rack for nice dresses and suits, a safe, a TV, free WIFI (that worked without issues), a small bar fridge with complimentary travel sized milk, a coffee pod machine, ducted air con (that worked well), endless shampoo, conditioner, and body soap, as well as a hair dryer and the other general disposable items such as a shower cap, sanitary bags and tissues. The bathroom was huge, with a massive dual head shower with great water pressure. The bed was extremely comfortable which is a huge compliment as I usually only like my own bed.
The hotel had great facilities with a nice cafe in the lobby to grab something small to eat alongside alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Highly recommend their gluten free banana bread - the best gluten free banana bread I’ve ever tasted! There was a huge heated poor alongside a restaurant where you could eat and sip beverages by the pool. There was great customer service by both the staff monitoring the drop off/pick up zone (took our bags up to our room while we parked) and the reception desk. There was affordable parking at the Star Casino with direct lift access to the Dorsett ($20 per night).
Lastly, if all of that wasn’t enough, they gifted me a teddy bear and beautiful chocolates with a card to congratulate me for graduating from my Masters of Law. They didn’t have to do this at all, and the surprise was one that I was very touched by.
Highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Check in staff were friendly, room was comfy and pool is fantastic.
Thanks to the explicit instructions on here, we didn't have any trouble with finding the car park. I note that on a busy Friday night, the main car park was closed when it reached a certain capacity but as hotel guests we were still allowed in and told exactly where we could find spaces which was very helpful.
The pool was a lovely temperature (heated) and we all enjoyed swimming. I'm not sure of the temp but I don't like cold water and had no complaints.
We actually had two separate bookings - 1 night with executive lounge access and 2 nights with a 'normal' room. The staff were wonderful with regards to the change of room and had our second room ready prior to the check out time - so we could move directly from one room to the other. I didn't find much difference between the rooms (executive was a higher floor with dressing gowns and better toiletries) but otherwise identical. Drinks and canapes in the executive lounge were good. Breakfast in the executive lounge was nice, very relaxed atmosphere with great views but a limited food choice. By comparison, the 'normal' room breakfast was at Harvest at Star which had far more choice but is much busier. With kids, we would choose Harvest over the executive lounge because of the greater food choice.
However, despite our very enjoyable stay, I an unlikely to stay at this hotel again due to the lack of desk or any available workspace in the room and/or hotel. Knowing that many people work on trips as I do, I feel some very poor design choices were made here (aesthetics over practicality). The hotel suggested the lounge area near reception but again, it is not really practical/ideal set up as it is lounges and low tables which makes typing difficult.

My family of 4 stayed two nights in an executive panoramic room which included lounge access with breakfast over New Years.
Room was beautiful and large with amazing views spanning Broadbeach down to Burleigh. Balcony was big although no seats if you want to sit outside.
Bathroom was huge with an amazing shower.
The pool area was beautiful with many cabanas and loungers plus some beautiful comfy lounges in the shade near the bar. Service was very quick for bar food.
Service from Dorsett team was amazing everywhere we went from check in to housekeeping to the cafe. Lots of sanitizing stations throughout. Everyone was super helpful.
Executive lounge was definitely worth the extra $$ with great views, service, food and beverage throughout the day and evening.
Parking was plentiful and easily accessed.
QR code access to food service delivery from Star casino restaurants was also handy. 5 min walk across the road to the beach or the huge Pacific Fair shopping Centre.
We will definitely stay again!

We stayed at the Dorsett on the weekend and absolutely loved it, we were going to an event at The Star so decided to stay and make a weekend of it. Check in was smooth, we parked at The Star so when you check in you just pay $20 for parking and they validate your ticket. Our room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the pool. Really comfortable bed and a luxurious bathroom. The rooms aren’t huge but great for a couple and totally soundproof we didn’t hear any pool noise or any noise from the corridor or other rooms. The Star is in the same complex so we had lunch at their noodle bar which was delicious and well priced. We had breakfast in the executive lounge, highly recommend this option the view is great and lots of choices in hot or cold options. The Dorsett pool is fantastic, it’s huge with lots of space to relax and a restaurant and bar right beside it. Will definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in a corner room. Room was very modern and clean and the bathroom a good size. There are a few things that can be improved however - the bedside tables are architectural and totally impractical, to the point of knocking things off in the dark. The hanging space is not enough for more than a couple of days and some drawers could really be helpful.
I’d like the mini bar to be stocked also. I’m not sure what the $200 deposit paid at check-in is for if there is nothing to use it on.
The pool is gorgeous however, chairs and lounges are not plentiful enough. The usual suspects are up at the crack of dawn, minding their lounges with towels all day so no one else can get a look in. There really should be a concierge to manage the use of the sun beds. It’s a really annoying part of the hotel.
The food in the pool bar has something for everyone. Would be handy though to be able to order on the phone and it be delivered to the lounge and it opens too late. Need to be able to order a coffee and bagel or something in the morning.
The location is supreme - with connecting access to the casino restaurants. It’s also just across the road from Pacific Fair and the bus terminal.

Hi D7280JBkatherinem, Thank you for sharing your review and feedback. Our apologies for the confusion with regards to your preauthorization. The preauth is a standard practice within the industry. As we are part of the big entertainment precinct, this will enable you to charge back to you room if and when you do decide to dine in any of the many restaurants from the Star casino. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope to see you back soon. Kind regards, Romeo Buencamino Front Office Manager

Granted they had only been open for 4 days and were having some teething problems but it feels like alot of style over substance. It is a beautiful room that has been styled by someone without effective thought for practicalities. There are also alot of misses in terms of what a property and room at this price point should include (no robes and cheap instant coffee) We ordered a sunset wine and cheese platter that took over an hour to arrive at the room and was served in a disposable platter plate with plastic cutlery with no champagne flutes. Other problems include the fact that the aircon didn't work properly. The balcony is sort of pointless given that it has no furnishings on it but was useful to open when the glitching aircon was insufficient for a comfortable nights sleep. On checkout we raised some issues including the aircon and were brushed of with 'yes we have been having a problem in some rooms'

We stayed at The Dorsett Gold Coast a couple of weeks ago. It was overwhelming! The staff were all good. Starts with the Receptionist Shali who made us feel welcomed and accommodated in a very nice manner. Then, as we progress to our room, the Housekeeping/Maintenance guys namely Rico and Romeo make sure that we we have everything that we need. Our luggage and extra towels and coffee. They also fixed one of the bulbs in the bedside so it won't flicker. They also assured us that if we need something, we can call and tell them everything we need.
It was a great experience to stay as they made you feel home. The staff's hospitable attitude, friendliness towards clients and accomodating manner deserves to be mentioned and appreciated. Kudos to the team!
The hotel was new, clean and modern. Unable to use the pool as it was pouring rain around Queensland that time and all we need is a home/room to stay after a long day travel.
Overall experience: Comfortable, relaxing and and quiet.
