Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I stayed at the Darling in a two room suite a few months ago and enjoyed it so much that we returned this week to stay in a three bedroom Penthouse, which was superb. The Penthouse is a bit expensive for just we two but for three couple sharing the cost great value. Even for two couples on a special occasion the cost would still be OK. Our Penthouse was very grand, spacious and had superb views of the surrounding coast and hinterland. So stacks of room for three couples but we did enjoy the decadent ambience all to ourselves. A huge spectacular lounge, three bedrooms and three bathrooms and four toilets. A huge table, four TVs and a whole pile of electronics to come to grips with. Well worth the cost and what a superb experience.

Just excellent five star accommodation and at the top of the five star rating. My wife and I actually live only five minutes from the Darling Hotel and stayed there for two nights and dined at restaurant 19 just for fun. The whole experience was superb and we will go back for my Birthday in August. Loved the programmable electronic sheers and curtains and the in room coffee maker makes great coffee. We dined at 19 one night and just bought take away meals from the Casino Food Court the next night and took them back to our suite to enjoy the opulence. Quite a spacious gym but limited equipment, however I did a 90 minute workout with no prob.

What I found lacking in the extreme was the service at reception. We had a lovely guy when we arrived. But the ladies after that were supercilious and unfriendly in the extreme. Won't stay again!

We stayed on the 8 th floor with partial view to the sea. The room was huge with a seperate bedroom and a large bathroom with a beautiful bath tub. Everything in this apartment was top quality and very clean. The bed was enormous with 4 superb pillows. Best of all complimentary snacks. As it was my husbands birthday we started with dinner at Kyomi and ended up in the room enjoying all it had to offer😉highly recommended for a special occasion.

PLUS - Tranquil. No unwanted noises at floor 11th (at most time) even though the casino is on the 3rd floor and the hotel faces the main highway. - Not crowded at lobby but not empty either. The vibe is just right. - Have easy acess to motor vehicle with valet parking - 10 min walking distance to the biggest and newest mall in Surfers Paradise with everything - Entry level Stella room spacious and luxurious enough for a family of three MINUS -There are different level of stupidity and at the end of three days sojourn, i still couldnt grasp the right temperature and water pressure of the shower unit. -Unsure what is the big hoo ha with Nineteen, the place for breakfast. Limited variety and juice served may be the $2.99 per litre type at Coles unless you upgrade. RT 1/7/22

The darling's rack rates are a bit expensive for the average punter, so when COVID inspired discounts hit the screens we jumped at them. What a beautiful hotel, from the valet, porter at the front door, front desk, and room service...all superb. The room was beautiful and generously sized, importantly the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is very quiet so we enjoyed uninterrupted sleep. Easy access to the the Star Casino and only a short walk across the road to all that Broadbeach has to offer. Took up an offer for breakfast at Nineteen restaurant....highly recommend!!

We stayed in the Stellar Suite, which has a its own large balcony looking towards the beach. It has a separate lounge and bedroom, and the bathroom is also separate with large wardrobe space as well. They have the latest Nespresso Creatista plus coffee machine, which we liked the flavour of so much we brought one ourselves. The bathroom amenities are prestigous, and the shower is fantastic with different options. It was also very quiet. Overall the room gives you a luxurious feeling when compared to the normal rooms at the Star, and I would highly recommend. Valet parking is also included, and the whole Hotel has an elegance about it.

Family of 4 ( 2 x parents and children aged 15 and 18 ) recently stayed in a Spa Penthouse. We were not aware this hotel existed. The hotel is fabulous and will be our new home when on the Gold Coast. The rooms are very classy and our Penthouse had a full 180 degree balcony. 200m from the beach however the rooftop pool is difficult to leave. Hotel security is top class. Will return as soon as possible.
