Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for 6 days. Location pretty good and size of room is good. Our one bedroom room was on the ground floor and the view was to the shops/cafes. I did politely request mnths prior to booking the room, a room with a beach view and said it would be a nice surprise for my husband as it was his birthday when we arrived but no, got the ground floor facing shops.
The only negatives i found was the day & night blinds were a pain, pulling them up and down but u need to draw them for privacy as tourists/public and shop staff would be able to clearly see in if it was night and u had the lights on.
We were only given two 20 mls of washing up liquid sachets for 6 days! (no dishwasher in room so manual washing up) so using half a pkt to try and conserve it in each sink fill, was pathetic. Hardly any bubbles so needless to say crockery & pots won't be properly washed by anyone thru the lack of suds.
On 2nd day I asked for some more sachets as i am washing up morning and night and lady at reception gave me only ONE more sachet. Same applied for washing machine powder. ONE 20ml pkt.
2 small toilet rolls and ONE small complimentary soap, ONE shampoo & conditioner for 2 people and for 6 days!
Rubbish bag, a thin plastic medium size bag for 6 days which is actually the size of the bathroom waste bin and doesn't even fit around the kitchen waste bin so needless to say, another bag was needed for our 6 day stay.
Management needs to be not so frugile with every day items that are needed to stay in a self contained unit with 2 human beings staying in there for nearly 1 week. When approaching reception, the lady's facial reaction was like I was asking for something over the top and i was greedy. Other than these issues of tightness, it's not too bad there.
I would probably stay on the side with beach views higher up if i stayed in there again, but i doubt i would go back due to the issues i raised and the customer service attitude of both the older women in reception. Both put on a very small smile when approaching them and not a friendly attitude considering they are dealing with tourists every day which is there bread and butter.
Washing machine, dryer provided, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, pots and pans all provided. Safeway opposite rooms. Car parking provided also
No air conditioner in living areas but there is one in bedroom and a pedestal fan for lounge room which is needed.

We stayed on the 10th Floor (Room 1004) all rooms have ocean views which is refreshing. This property is in a prime location, is across the road from the Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club and patrolled beach, walking distance to restaurants, woolworths, BWS bottle shop, Star Casino, markets across the road Sunday mornings, secured off street parking, self contained kitchen.
As most holiday appartments on the Gold Coast, the unit was not airconditioned, it wasn't really an issue due to the time of year we travelled but it's something to consider if travellng in summer time. Whilst the ocean breezes are nice, if they don't blow it can be hot in apartments, speaking from previous experience. We also found parking an issue as people would park in our designated park park meaning we'd have to find another carpark, fortunately it wasn't a busy period and this was easily done.

We weren't sure what we were going to get when we checked in to South Pacific Plaza, purely based on how cheap their rooms are compared to others. This accommodation was less than half the price of what we had paid elsewhere and the location was fantastic - beachfront and on the mall.
The staff at check-in were lovely - helpful, professional and friendly. Our room was stunning having recently been renovated with lovely decor and a beautiful view of the ocean. You literally have everything on your doorstep here....the beach, the shops, the restaurants.
We loved our stay here and when we return to Broadbeach this will definitely be the first place we look for accommodation.

I almost cancelled my booking because of how rude Sharon was. When asking her simple questions like where the grocery stores were or nearest bars, she simply told me to google it. We asked for more information about the facilities and she rolled her eyes, groaned and gave us a flyer without saying anything. That should have been my warning sign to leave but I hoped the rooms would make up for her poor attitude. Unfortunately, they're very old, desperately need refurbishing and the majority of the appliances are rusty, very dangerous for our children. Will not be returning and do not recommend.

Dear 406sineadh Thankyou for reviewing us and especially myself and false acquisitions as I have not spoken to you. Maybe you have grabbed my business card from the front counter?? I am seriously thinking of taking this further & would like an apology. I live in the building, why wouldn't I tell you where the grocery store etc. were. Kind regards Manager/ Sharon

SPP is in a superb position close to everything. In the past pre-Covid we could request a certain room and management were lovely; coming from New Zealand for three weeks or a month we had always been accommodated with a fantastic apartment with a sea view. So this time despite our very best efforts we come from New Zealand to have a view of buildings and some hills in the background. Apparently it’s the luck of the draw nowadays. In their own words

The 1 Bedroom Superior apartments start from 1st - 16th level, there are restricted views from the lower levels. Room levels are not confirmed until the day of arrival. We constantly move bookings to accommodate new ones that drop in during the day…”.
You’d think if you booked months earlier that you could ask for a certain room. We started asking last year 2022. We could not get the room we wanted despite being flexible with dates. We have come to SPP seven times since 2013 pre-Covid and always had a higher level 03 room with a stunning views. We were very disappointed this time as we had an 05 room with a superb view of the buildings out the back so we kept the blinds shut all day, just a peak of a view of the sea from the kitchen window and the deck. The “large double bed” was a small Queen bed. We wanted either a King or two singles. There were abseilers around our windows and adjoining apartment drilling into the wall for three weeks and always some noisy maintenance drill going off every day without notification as to duration — this was a constant. We are both in our late 70’s and just when I was thinking I’d have a nice nap in the afternoon, the noise would crank up again. I don’t know why they think people should just accept this when we’re paying nearly $2000 a week to hear constant drill noise. The room/booking (by booking.com) was misrepresented — no dishwasher, no coffee machine, no pool view. Apparently from the first lady we spoke to, it was our fault for booking through booking.com (they really didn’t like them) but if SPP can’t give you a room and booking.com can what are you supposed to do? The TV stand was flat pack and fell to bits as it hadn’t been installed properly. There was fluff and dust all over the bedroom ceiling and the first week we were there after moving all our stuff off the surfaces, the floors weren’t vacuumed. The wifi is not secure and we used our pocket wifi at our own expense.

Stayed twice now during Jan school holidays in a 2 bedroom superior room, first time on a low floor and this year on a high floor. The beach views are the best, the location is great with shops and restaurants just outside your door and beach across the road. The pool and spa is always clean and water temperature nice and warm. Our room had air con in the lounge and fans in the bedroom. Some rooms are more updated than others. The couches, fridge and decor definitely needed replacing in our room. I think for price per night it’s good value. Yes it’s not luxurious but then you are not paying top dollar either.

We stayed for 7 nights and absolutely loved it. The park and beach were right across the road. The view was amazing and every morning there were spectacular sunrises. It was great being next to the Oasis centre with all the shops as well as many restaurants and cafes. You can easily walk to Pacific fair and star casino. The room we had had everything we needed and with the perfect location it didn't matter that the room was a little bit tired. This will definitely be our go to place on the Gold Coast.

+1
We have stayed here many times and have never had a problem until this 7night stay. We paid for a “Superior” apartment but unfortunately got an apartment that was in need of much repair. It was tired, shabby and certainly not as advertised.
The list of issues with this apartment is long, including peeling paint, filthy light fittings, unwashed dishes, scruffy furniture, splattered doors, walls, ceiling, rusty old stove, wifi that disconnects continually etc Absolutely not superior!
I have emailed management twice and included photos but no response...which is pretty slack considering!
Our bed was good and our view was amazing...which sadly is overridden by how disappointing everything else was.

We paid for a "superior" apartment.
Superior to me means that you get a dishwasher and your bedroom also should include a TV and airconditioning because at night you need to close the door to keep the noise out so you need to use the aircon.
The furniture was old and very basic.
Positives include central location at the mall and across the road from the Kurrawa
Surf Club.

What a great place. Modern inside, plenty of space with amazing uninhibited views out over the beach and sea. Handy to the supermarket retail shops, restaurants and most importantly a caged playground. The 2 bedroom apartment had a fully equipped kitchen which meant we didn’t have to eat out for every meal.

Hi Luke and thankyou Leanne has answered you correctly.
Via the carpark, however this can be a little steep. Front steps to the street level or a ramp (this is not a driveway though, only pedestrians) via our pool and out onto the street.
Kind regards
Sharon
Yeah they are happy to hold your luggage for the day as I did this when I stayed as my flight wasn't til later in the day. Ask for a later checkout as they are happy to oblige if the room is not booked, although that probably depends if its peak times. Hope this helps.
There's one right next door in the Oasis centre up on the third level.
