We stayed three nights and hiked each day. Heeding the suggestion on our confirmation that we might bring food with us, we found their ample refrigerator and storage space and large cooking area and grill allowed us to cook our meals and dine in the great room with the view. [The dearth of exciting restaurants in town made this especially... More

Stayed two nights with family in March. The communal lounge and dining area with mountain outlook were terrific - lovely to be able to meet other travelers in a relaxed and informal setting, play board & card games at night, sip wine etc. The downside of the communal facilities is, perhaps, the shared kitchen. Ultimately, you end up getting a... More

The Mount Cook Village is very quiet - one hotel, one lodge, two hostels and one restaurant. Come here for the views and the walking - both of which are fabulous. The Lodge is a great choice. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The shared lounge has breathtaking views. The shared kitchen works well. We Hermitage Hotel next... More

Probably a bit overpriced for what it is. But considering the remote location and lack of other options, I wasn't surprised nor upset about the price. Room is very sparse with fairly cheap furnishings, but it is clean and well kept. Communal kitchen facilities were not ideal, but workable. Staff was very friendly and gave us some great advice on... We stayed here in March 2015. As most people have mentioned, the views are stunning, especially from the front facing rooms. Even if you do not have such a room, then go to the kitchen area and there are lots of sofas which face the mountains. There was no fridge in our room (was a front facing room on the... More

From the moment I checked in I felt this was a haven from the cold & misty weather outside. Room was well appointed & very clean. Very impressed by the communal kitchen/dining facilities. Everything was supplied including washing up liquid so we just needed to bring our food. Had a lovely evening meal in the warm atmosphere & enjoyed breakfast... More

Our ninth night was in Mount Cook. Mount cook village is a good 55 kms from the Tekapo Twizel Route. As you turn left and do this 55 km drive, you drive past the unbelievably blue waters of lake Pukaki followed by the huge rugged snow capped mountains. The village is very small. Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Lodge is the... More

We stayed for one night in February 2015, and were completely wowed by the views and surround landscapes! Our room was a bit small and dated but completely acceptable. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist who told us about some great walks in the region, and the view from the living area on the top floor was superb.

We had room 3 which was opposite reception and near the front door and whilst you could see Mount Cook people could also see into our room through the window when they came into the lodge but as we were only staying one night we weren't too bothered but I would have asked for a different room had I been... We stayed at the Mt. Cook/Aeorki lodge recently while visiting the Mt. Cook park. We were greeted by a very friendly and extremely helpful front desk clerk who told us all about the hiking in the area. The rooms were very neat and clean. The lodge also had a fantastic common room with games, and a massive communal kitchen stocked... More
