We stayed two nights in an ensuite room which had two twin beds and a double decker bed. The room is really very small especially if you have luggage cases and we only had two sleeping in the room. Though there are separate bath and toilet sections, the shower cubicle is one of those tiny triangular glass enclosures which is... More

Hello, thanks for reviewing our lodge. I just want to point out that we recommend the family rooms for 2 adults and 2 young children, or 3 adults. The rooms are not large but they are economical for families. The photos give an accurate size. Kind regards, Mary Malcolm, Manager More

We stayed a night at the Lodge while on a road trip around New Zealand. It is perfectly placed to explore the mountains and visit the Hermitage and Edmund Hillary's centre. The room is a good size and other cooking and eating arrangements are in a communal room. The views from the communal room (and from our room window) are... More

Thanks for reviewing us. We are pleased you had a nice time in Aoraki/Mt Cook. With our guest kitchen, there is often a selection of international foods being cooked, so everyone can cook what they like to eat. Part of the fun. Kind regards, Mary Malcolm Manager More

Great Views all around and very close to the glaciers i stayed at the alpine lodge it was clean and tidy. But i would recommend bringing your own food to cook as there is very little choice for places to eat.

We booked a four bunk bed private ensuite room for 2 nights. The front desk is not 24 hours but the service is excellent. This room type is not very spacious, but the value is reasonable. Some kitchenware are not handy, difficult to use. Very close to Mt. Cook information centre. Will recommend to friends or people who are looking... More

Stayed 2 nights with my daughter. The bedroom was compact but the place was clean and quiet. Great communal lounge and well equipped kitchen. Wish I had thought to take food - there is no grocery shop at Mt Cook with only some very expensive, very basic food available. With the right ingredients you could cook up a storm!

We enjoyed our night at Mount Cook Lodge. It had a well equipped communal area. The view from our room was amazing, but the bed was old and dated and the whole place needs a face lift. There is no lift to the first floor. The milk is in the communal area, UHT only - would have liked fresh milk... More

Hello Julia, Thanks for the review. I am sorry that you feel the lodge is dated. It is only 11 years old. The complimentary milk for guests is long life milk, as we do not have a frequent grocery delivery here in the mountains and we need to ensure there is always milk available. We are very pleased that you... More

We had a mountain view room with a king bed and ensuite. Not much floor space when there are 2 suitcases. Everything was clean and comfortable There is a large share kitchen which was very welk equipped with multiple tables. The communal lounge was very warm and had a lovely mountain view. You get 5gb of free WiFi.

What a great way to view the tallest mountain in NZ. Sitting in your room with a floor to ceiling window, comfy temperature and a beverage in hand. As my wife says. Very civilised. We stayed in adjoining rooms which accommodated our family of 4 comfortably. The views from our beds were amazing even though we were on the ground floor. The communal area upstairs where a great addition and a perfect spot to watch the sunrise with a cuppa. The staff at reception where great and helpful. I recommend a walk through the... More
