I stayed at Rose's, Posada Arigalan, last year for a month. At night, I fell asleep to the waves and in the morning I awoke to see the sunrise over the ocean. Every room has a spectacular view. I stayed in one of the affordable cabins as I was taking a month long course at nearby Agama, which is a five minute walk. Over my cabana, there was a beautiful covered roof deck with hammocks. It was a peaceful place to do yoga or read or chat. The beach is a short walk away. And the staff were attentive and lovely and friendly. I felt safe and cared for :) Thank you to Rose and Marcela and Estaban my stay in Mazunte was absolutely fabulous. THANK YOU!

I spent 10 days in the daek room that the Arigalan Hotel offers for spiritual seekers. Rose, the owner, was extremely friendly feom the first moment we met. She let me cisit the room a couple of times before my retreat and get adjusted to it. The room is quiet and the service from the hotel excellent. On my request I was given 1 vegetarian meal per day. The food was extremely delicious and made my day :)

The room itself has everything need for a dark room retreat (shower, WC, AC, fan, a comfortable bed and space to practice yoga and meditate. It is also located just next to Hridaya Yoga.

My experience was fantastic and I hope so will be yours.

Rose is absolutely one of the most attentive, caring, and approachable hosts I have ever encountered in my world travels. Love to you Rose. I was so happy staying there for my 3 weeks in January while taking a course at Hridaya Yoga next door. I loved my Cabana with all it's charm and efficiency. I loved the beautiful sunrises and the gorgeous views through out the day from so many different vantage points on the property. The kitchen was great as I could cook my own meals just like home when I wasn't going out to restaurants with friends. I took daily walks down to the beaches on both sides and refreshed in the pool upon my return. I am already planning my return for 2016. Can't wait to get back to my home away from home.

Great location for viewing the bay at San Angustanillo. But we suggest you avoid this dump. They call themselves an "Eco Hotel " which seems to be an attempt to cover up their obvious infrastructure problems. The front desk was manned by an immature child-man. He described what the previous guest had said about the concerns we had regarding the lack of running water, as if that should impact our own difficulties. He never in the nine-day stay addressed the problem: not only is there no hot water, the cold water is nothing more than a light spray, something one might use to water delicate plants. For 4000 pesos/night (CAD $200), at least get the water running. Other hotels in the area have water. Stop hiding your woefully inept management behind ridiculous claims of a "yoga/eco" experience. We visited here in 2004 and the only changes in 18 years are a few new half completed structures and even less water pressure. Finally, hire a competent adult to be at the reception desk. The one you have now barely speaks English or Spanish after living in México for five years, according to his own garbled English.

This place has a great location. It overlooks the lovely San Agustinillo beach and is an easy stroll from the villages of San Agustinillo and Mazunte for a variety of restaurants and other facilities. There the accolades stop. Having checked the website three weeks before arrival we were looking forward to a drink in their bar and perhaps a meal in their restaurant after a day on the beach. Alas we were misled as there were no such facilities at Arigalan. In fact, apart from the rooms, there were no facilities at all. Even the most basic backpackers' hostel has a kitchen area where you can make a drink or prepare some breakfast for yourself. This had now been closed and was used as an office for the manager, the rather surley and unco-operative Enrique. We managed to persuade an abandoned coffee machine from the maid and one of our number had fortunately brought a travel kettle so by our own initiative our small group managed to set themselves up. The place seemed to be run by an iron hand from a distance as everything we asked for had to be checked out with the owner who lives in America. We had to pay the full cost of the accommodation up front after which the distinct feeling was one of 'couldn't care less' on behalf of the management.
Their new website now omits reference to a bar and restaurant but too late for us of course. If you do go there be prepared to pay the full sum up front and have nothing but the basic room in return. The views from the balconies are great but if you would like to enjoy them over your breakfast or an evening drink bring everything you would need at home: utensils, plates, cups, glasses, everything. Ishmael, the gardener, is very helpful and pleasant but if you do need anything else you are likely to have to go through the manager who will have to call the owner and you might obtain a grudging reply the following day.
It has a great location but we found that there are much better places for the money, especially in San Agustinillo

This is physically closest to Hridaya Yoga. That's about it. The rooms are minimally furnished. Noisy AC in bungalows. There is a shared kitchen on site. Walking distance away, Mazunte and San Agustinillo are better choices if you'd like to be close to the ocean, restaurants, tiendas. If you stay at Arigalan expect to pay your full bill, in cash on arrival, at highest conversion rate to the centavo, even for extended stays.

Lots of up and down walking if you stay here. Located about 10 minutes from the beach midway between Mazunte and San Augustinillo. Underfurnished very plain rooms and marginal service. For the area, the hotel is quite overpriced. It costs no more to stay on the beach where the ambiance and breezes are much more pleasant.

We actually chose this wonderful hotel because of the great Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed! Although the views are spectacular and the location fabulous, overlooking two gorgeous beaches -- the best part is the hostess, Rose. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and part of the community of guests. This is the place to really relax and enjoy nature! Quite a few of the guests were repeaters. There were plenty of good restaurants in the area too. Don't miss this great place.

Amazing hotel. Definitely enjoyed our stay here and will be coming back again in the near future. Conveniently located right between both beaches with breathtaking views of the ocean from the rooms. Make it a habit to get up and watch the sun rise- you wont be disappointed! Even did some whale watching from the hammocks. Rose was very helpful and accommodating and definitely made the stay worth while. Cant wait to come again!

I cannot recommend this posada more. Rose, the owner, is an absolute delight, and her staff are a lovely reflection of her hospitality. I was fortunate enough to occupy one of her quaint cabanas for a month whilst I studied with Agama yoga a mere 2 minutes away. Waking up every morning with the gorgeous white sandy beach and panoramic views was only bested by being lulled to sleep every night by the sound of the waves crashing on the cliffs below. The authentic and rustic town of Mazunte is only a short stroll away, as are the gorgeous beaches of San Agustinillo. All in all I treasured my stay here and honestly look forward to my next vacation here!
