The hotel is in a lovely setting on the edge of a lovely village with great walking areas surrounding it. We often visit and eat in the restaurant which is open to non residents, on this occasion we ordered the fillet steaks which were amazing, our friendly waitress recommended the stilton & mushroom sauce which was fab, all washed down...

My wife and I arrived mid afternoon Friday. We were delighted with the quiet setting of the hotel with it's olde worlde feel and were welcomed with a friendly smile. Check-in was a breeze as we were issued our key to a room in the chalet annex. The room was lovely with Free WIFI, a King size bed, flat screen...

Originally booked on Group-on but had to upgrade again when we got there as both not happy with the 4-poster room (dark wood and drab furishings). Got the Bridal suite (at cost), loads better but tired furnishings again, lampshades nearly hanging off. Shower was rubbish (my watering can gives out more water). Food seemed to be done on the cheap...

I stayed with my partner on an overnight stay with a meal deal last week and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had an option to upgrade to the full menu which one of us did .. we had a fillet steak and one of their famous currys and both were really really nice. The staff were really attentive. The...

We went there on Saturday night for a celebration meal. The place was packed and our table wasn't ready when we got there. Once we ordered our meals the starters were served well over an hour later and were not hot. we waited quite a while for the main course which was nice when it arrived. We didn't bother with...

Terrible from start to finish. Crowed place when we arrived. Waitress took us to our table only to find another dinner had taken one of the chairs. 10 mins wait for new table. She took our drinks order and bought me a small coke not the pint I asked for. Prior to ordering food another girl then bought over starters...

After travelling over 500 miles, arriving late and checked in for a one night stay. Shown to room which was classic with very spacious bathroom. Extremely large, comfortable bed which was a big bonus. Asked for the Chicken Curry, the Australian waitress let me know it was a home made reciepe by the owners, best choice I've made!! Big plate...

Pre-Christmas lunch for four. We were the first people to arrive and the restaurant was a bit cold. Very nice and cheerful Australian waitress. The three course festive feast at £19.95 per head was very good value. Food was well cooked and portion sizes good. We all enjoyed our meals. We had: Starters: 2 x Cheese souffle, 2 x salmon...

First tried this place on a groupon deal which cost next to nothing, having held no great expectations we were more than suprised at firstly the warm welcome from staff and a free glass of bubbly, to a lovely quaint room with a 4 poster bed overlooking farmland. The location is superb and the restaurant offers exquisite food, all home...
