We stayed here in March. We chose this hotel since it is right in the centre of Hitchin town but has a very reasonable room rate. The decor is a bit old-fashioned, but that just matches the old building. There's also a car park, which is ideal since parking in Hitchin is mental. The room was very comfortable with all...

Family run. Clean and large rooms. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Nice touches. Biscuits. Even a Needle kit!! Car park. Just what is needed when needing a room in that area for work. Ideal. Happy to recommend this hotel.

We regularly stay here when visiting family every month. The hotel is well positioned close to the town centre with a good choice of restaurants and bars. The welcome is always warm and your made to feel part of the family, nothing is too much trouble. Great value for a clean, comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. With reference to...

Booked in advance for a friends birthday in town, parked in the car park at rear, was greeted very politely and helpfully by a young lady called Vicenza, who explained a few things about the hotel, the room (14) was actually just fine for the price £75 with breakfast compared to the priory which was the same money and the...

Good location near the town centre. But this is one of those hotels that feels like it hasn't seen a new carpet, new beds, furniture or a lick of paint since the 80's. Needs gutting back to the walls and modernising. Wifi worked. The breakfast was floating in a pool of tomato beans sauce. Please put it in a separate...

Dear faktoader, Thank you for your review and feedback. I'm sorry you feel your stay was not satisfactory. The Hotel is a grade II listed building so have tried to keep the period feel of the hotel with the furnishings and decor. I'm sorry this was not what you expected. The rooms are regularly decorated and painted often, just as...

I loved staying here while I was on business in the area. It's a prime example of a good family run hotel with a warm welcome, comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. Conveniently situated for Hitchin town centre and next door to an award winning real ale pub. I was in heaven.

On the whole, this hotel is clean and adequate. Making it suitable for short stays, but there are a few key areas that need to be improved in order to take this to the next level. I appreciate that the building is 300years old, however this fact does not help when you can hear every footstep, conversation and television within...
