This hotel is very handy for the motorway and surprisingly quiet. Ample car parking. Rooms are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Thankfully hotel was taken over a few years back and it is now a really nice place to stay at once again. Pricing of breakfast is odd though and it is not cheap. Bottled water in room is lacking,...

Arrived at the hotel at 7.30pm had to wait at reception for 20 mins before we were able to check in. There was only 1 person on reception! Finding our room was not the easiest. Room was very small and very hot! had a meal in the Steak house which was ok but very expensive. The bed was very comfortable...

Dined at this restaurant on Friday night. Quite a nice varied menu but perhaps on the slightly expensive side. We didn't bother with a starter but chose to have a few items off the 'nibbles' menu. Artisan breads, dipping oils, paprika popcorn and haggis bon bons. (prices ranging £4-£5) For the main courses I had pork cutlet which was lovely,...

Restaurant absolutely dire - slow service, small steak, lots of white space on plates, expensive and my daughters chocolate brownie was rock solid. Didn't get our second round of drinks delivered to the table either! Off elsewhere tonight.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The food at breakfast, as well as in the evening, was excellent. Even though I stayed during the week, there were plenty of other guests that brought a lively ambience to the dining experience. Staff were very hospitable and attentive. Location is very close to the M60 and on a main route into...

Stayed one night as had early meeting in Preston. Staff without exception were notably well trained and very good. The young lady on reception Thursday evening 9th February deserves a special mention. Very helpful. Only negative during the stay was dinner. Mediocre qualit. However, staff attitude was exceptional and hotel deserves complimenting on this.

The delightful location riverside adjacent to rapid transit routes enhances the hotel's appeal As part of the Macdonald stable a visitor is assured a hearty Scots welcome travelling south and the complimentary millionnaires slice was v much appreciated
