This lovely place has a touch of class. The rooms are lovely, even gifted with a suite room. Had a bad experience with dowans hotel and left and this place was like a 5 star in comparison. So pleased i left. The staff are really friendly... major whiskey choices and the food was excellent, highly recommend the steak!

Chose this from a number of suggestions and very glad I did. Arrived after a scary drive up the A9 and was greeted with a warm welcome and shown to my room by Nicola, which was first class. As it was getting late I went down to the bar for dinner and was very pleasantly surprised by the menu and... More

Never been before but will definitely go back. Had a beautiful lunch and portions were a good size so value for money. Waiting staff were attentative, helpful and pleasant. It was reasonably busy but not packed but this was a Thursday lunchtime in January. I presume it gets busy at weekends.

I had the great pleasure of staying at the Mash Tun for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. I stayed in the Glenlivet Room and the view of the Spey, the roll top bath and the very comfy bed made me feel like I was staying in a very very luxurious hotel. The food was very good too, the breakfast... More

My husband and I loved our recent stay here on our European honeymoon! The room was beautiful and the staff wonderful. We had several delicious meals downstairs as well. It is of course very conveniently located not far from many fabulous distilleries that can't be missed!

We stopped in for lunch after a walk and found this pub very friendly and comfy. Lovely atmosphere, good choice of food. Wish someone had warned me about portion size. Lovely starter of goujons and tartare, and enormous rich tartlet of goats cheese and beetroot with fresh veg. Everything seemed just cooked. All very nicely served with our drinks and... More

Called in for Sunday lunch after a walk along the river. It was very busy and I'm not surprised as the meals were plentiful and very good. The staff were helpful and very cheerful. Its off the main road but well worth looking out for

While this place is busy (I needed to book a table early for my evening meals), the service remains superb. Mark and Karen made my stay especially pleasant - they make a great team at breakfast - try Mark's salmon eggs and Karen's whisky marmalade ... but not if you're driving!! The range of whiskies in the bar is exceptional... More

My husband, myself, our daughter and our whippet went for dinner (well the whippet just slept on his cushion!). We had heard good reviews so booked in advance and after a walk along the glorious Spey river, went in for some dinner. I was actually a little apprehensive, the bar wasn't quite as relaxing or welcoming as I thought but... More

This charming B & B in the town of Aberlour, Scotland derives its name from...what else...the Mash Tun in a distillery. Located in the heart of the Speyside region it is within easy motor able distances of all the major Speyside distilleries and walking distance of the eponymous distillery of the town it is located in. The B & B... More
