Ozen has raised Maldives far above expectations, which were already set high for first-timers with all the hype you hear about this paradise on Earth. The photos, video tours, reviews…as descriptive as they are, an undersell once you experience it all in person - the perfection in all aspects that they have offered us in this opulent oasis cannot be captured in mere words and pictures. We were blown away by the impeccable standards they have set across all domains from hospitality to food.

As soon as we arrived to Malé, we were picked up and escorted to a cosy lounge, suitcases and bags swiftly taken off of us. Air-conditioned and packed with all the refreshments needed, it wasn't even a 10-minute wait there until we were taken to the transfer.

Catamaran was luxurious indeed, difference in class evident as we walked past dingy-looking speedboats from other resorts. There was only one other couple in the comfortable catamaran with us, and the staff set the scene well with a knowledgeable narration of the country’s geography whilst ensuring everyone is catered to with refreshments and drinks.

A scenic 30-minute ride and we arrived on the island with a spectacularly warm welcome ceremony, complete with flower petals, drums, and smiles all around. It makes us smile too now watching the video as all the strangers who welcomed us at the pier were all family by the end of our honeymoon.

Not a single second was wasted on check-in/paperwork. We were greeted by our Hiyani (butler) Samir upon arrival, who was the sweetest guy. He thinks of everything, always being one step ahead of us, and has made our honeymoon seamless and memorable. It was clear that no request was too much for him as he sorted everything out for us from picking us up with buggies to arranging activities and making reservations. Samir has gone way above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. He took us on a tour of the island before showing us our villas and bicycles (every guest has one to get around the island, and boardwalk biking with those views is an experience on its own already). All dinner reservations have already been pre-made by him so that we got to sample all the restaurants, but ensured flexibility had we wished to move anything around. We exchanged numbers via Whatsapp, got everything sent to us including all the menus, and responded swiftly within a minute each time. He worked so efficiency like clockwork behind the scene, and troubleshooted all our (minor) issues out so quickly - examples being:

1. One of our bicycles mysteriously vanished from outside our villa one night. As soon as this was reported to Samir, security brought a new bike over within minutes. This is the level of efficiency they operate on.

2. Occasional power cuts in the overwater villas during stormy weather, which is inevitable and will happen in all overwater villas across Maldives. Samir sent engineers over who rectified it so quickly that there was no inconvenience at all. They even had pest control over to our room within 5 minutes when I regrettably brought baklava to our rooms which the ants quickly discovered, and just as quickly vanished without any reappearance.

Samir had set the bar high for the island at the start, but every single staff we have interacted with has delivered matching professionalism and courteousness, being so attentive to every little detail. Even at our first meal there (Vista Del Mar), we were greeted by name and welcomed as though they were all expecting us, making us feel nothing short of valued VIPs. It's clear that they make the extra effort to know every single guest here. By the 3rd day, our drinks, food preferences and likes/dislikes were learnt by our waiters there, as though we were regulars who's dined there for years. Our usual order was already placed as soon as we sit down every time.

The hospitality you experience there is second to none. Not once did any waiters write down our orders no matter how convoluted it gets, no doubt they’ve gone through rigorous training as the professionalism was consistent across the resort. We will always remember and miss our favourite people there – wait staff Lucy, Pearl, Cherry, Lav, Sona, Dina, and managers Rohit and Moosa. They all had such bright smiles on their faces every time they saw us, the level of passion and dedication they had to their jobs were palpable. Their attention to detail and friendliness were what made this trip so memorable for us. Firu, one of the managers, deserves more recognition as a guest favourite too. Tipped with alcohol and sun one afternoon, I naively mistook her for a waitress and asked for an order of drinks before she had the chance to introduce herself as one of the supervisors. The professionalism she demonstrated as she did not let that faze her one bit, placed the order with the correct personnel, and returned to introduce herself and her role to obtain detailed feedback from us.

Food & drinks
Even though there are only 4 restaurants there, the variety was more than enough and made up for with top-notch quality as they headhunt top chefs across the globe. Every single dish and drink served is the highest of standards, and the extravagant effort they put into the food and presentation would make it hard to believe it was all-inclusive.

Vista Del Mar is the main restaurant there, and boasts panoramic views of the ocean where you can sit meters from the waves. It also contains spacious seating and a well air-conditioned indoors with a decent selection at the buffet, as well as varying menus for lunch and dinner. Whilst breakfast is similar every day, the a la carte options, like with lunch and dinner, carries a solid selection but more importantly impeccable freshness to offer guests what they desire.

Saffron is the Indian restaurant that we were initially sceptical about. Having been spoilt with steak and seafood there and not being strangers to desi food, we almost even contemplated skipping this restaurant as we assumed Indian food would “just be Indian food”. Little did we know and how wrong we were! Chef Hari has opened our eyes to proper Indian food and even made us forget about seafood at the Maldives with his deeply nourishing interpretations of dishes across the regions. Passion and flavour exude with every bite you take, and everything we sampled in the meat thali from the poppadoms to the curries were all unlike anything we’ve ever had. The lamb galouti and chingri malai curry were exceptionally flavoursome, and the massive tandoori ovens have made all their tandoori starters and bread their forte. What a shock that such a fine restaurant would be all-inclusive - everything screams fine dining there and the experience reeled us in for another visit. This chef is by far the most gifted chef we have had the pleasure in meeting, and has made this my favourite restaurant there (trust me, the competition is strong with fabulous food across all 4 restaurants). What’s more is the attentiveness and compassion of him and his staff that made us feel like more than just customers at his restaurant – I was feeling under the weather on our second visit there, and couldn’t take in any food. Lav had my meal sent over to me via in-villa dining after our premature departure (even beating us to our villa!) so that I could have the food in my own time when I felt better. The next day, Chef Hari even prepared and brought over rice & yoghurt for my delicate stomach, which just melted our hearts. Nowhere else would you find such kind-hearted people who cares about their guests this much.

OriginE - resident sommelier Rohit clearly knows what he's doing with enviable knowledge of the wines offered, paired with such expertise to balance their flavours. The menu was ambitious, and delivered in Michelin-grade quality and display. As they tell you, this is an experience and not just a meal. I wholeheartedly agree, as we savour through melt-in-mouth wagyu, and lobster so fresh it could’ve been caught hours ago.

Ozar bar - as with all bartenders at the other restaurants/bars here, they were expert mixologists. Their skills and liquor selection would put the best bars in London to shame. Every single cocktail was made with meticulous fine detail in both palate and presentation. This was our regular sunset haunt as we sipped cocktails accompanied by their beautifully-presented high tea, captivated in their mesmerizing atmosphere.

Special mention to the band they bring over every Wednesday and Saturday evenings at Ozar bar - Equatic Vibe. Kudos to whoever signed them on, as they have proved a shining accompaniment to the exuberant environment that Ozar offers. This Maldivian band is talented beyond belief, with the lead’s voice like butter and band performing in such harmony and with such passion. Requests are taken enthusiastically and their covers were consistently better than the originals.

The only thing we weren't particularly impressed with was the shisha, as we expected 10/10 to match everything else they offered. Whilst reasonably priced at 50USD (for one flavour) and molasses were of good make (Al Fakher), acclimatization of the tobacco were more to be desired as flavours ended up weak despite a long preparation time. Coal was only changed once 20 minutes upon requesting, but honestly whilst this may not be their strength, you can't shisha with better views and setting. This is the ONLY criticism I would offer to Ozar for improvement in the future, and Luisa – I hope this is acknowledged as we have read most of your responses to previous reviews and look forward to your thoughts – please do more than take this “seriously into consideration” as we will be back in the future!

The island itself is blessed with natural beauty, surrounded by perfect shades of blue ocean and tranquillity of tropical palm trees dotted at the mainland. Views are breath-taking everywhere you go. Every inch of the place is instagrammable by default already, but for the serious photographers there is even a map of "Instagram hotspots". Big tip for those going - ditch your phones, this is the best place on Earth to be off the grid.

There are plenty of activities for adults and kids alike, as snorkelling gear + non-motorized sports are provided. Water sports are operated by the experienced Best Dives, who delivers equivalent efficiency as the rest of the resort albeit understandably higher prices than would encounter outside of Maldives. Even during heavier tides, the water remains crystal clear throughout the resort and did not deter from the beauty of the house reefs.

The spa is the heavenly indulgence that we expected and received. 2 treatments were included during our 7-night stay, and the masseuses (especially Tini and Koming) kneaded away years’ of stress and tension as they delivered the most pampering massages that we’ve ever experienced within this serene sanctuary.

Perfect for honeymoons, kids (highly recommend suites with slide), the staff and resort’s attention to detail were mind-blowing. The rooms were spacious, equipped with 5-star amenities, and in rich décor reminding you that you are at the heart of luxury. As mentioned, the photos do NOT do their villas justice. Beach towels were available in abundance all over the island so that you don’t need to worry about lugging around towels everywhere you go. The entire resort was maintained impeccably clean by the housekeeping and cleaning team, impressively so considering how much sand there is! We even saw them regularly collecting washed-up corals off the beach after storms so that guests can walk on the soft-sanded beach without the inconvenience of sharp shells.

Anyone who steps onto that island will not be able to stop raving about that place and I cannot recommend this resort enough. It is an impressive achievement to have guests not only notice but favour the service and food over the stunningly idyllic Maldivian setting, and Ozen has really delivered with the genuine care they have for their guests that they treat like royalty. Vacationing anywhere else is near impossible now after such an unforgettable experience. If a relaxing, pampering holiday is what you need, then look no further. This is the place to be. Ozen Bolifushi, please keep this up, don't let a single one of your devoted staff (or Equatic Vibe) go, and we will see you soon!

We arrived at this island in their luxurious catamaran. It was a very nice sea ride. Their catamaran and waiting facilities at the airport are great. The island is very beautiful. Our package was all inclusive. The dining experiences were varied each day and that was very nice. The only problem we had was with the Indian restaurant. The food tasted somehow for us, probably because it was what we are not used to.
We first stayed in an Ocean Pool Suite with Slide. Our butler was a lady called Mira. She was nice at first till we asked about an important call that was not responded to at night. We started worrying that if something would happen to us there, with their phones which are not answered at night, we would be on our own. The hotel should seriously look into this. It makes guests to feel insecure. Our butler started not liking us after we questioned this and we would request a buggy and she would say it would take 30 minutes. We ended up having to walk most of the times or to hitch rides on those that would be passing by. It was no longer nice at all. We were then even afraid to ask for anything for in case we made it worse.

We then had a nasty experience when our unit caved in and the floors cracked because of the waves. It was a scary experience. The hotel manager was very nice to us and he then upgraded us to the two bedroom reserve unit which was more secure. At least there we could do in-room dining without having to pay for it. The only problem there was that the unit was not being properly serviced.

Ozen, is on the overall a very beautiful place, but they will have to improve their customer care to match the prices that they charge. No one wants to feel insecure while on holiday in a foreign country and we definitely want to stay in clean places.

Where to start ?
Resort is beautiful, Villas (we stayed in 504) well maintained, Food great, Diversity of drinks excellent. House reef nice for snorkeling.
This is an ALL-INCLUSIVE Resort, that means all-in food (in different restaurants), all drinks (inclusive great wines), massages (2 per visitor), transport to/from island, local island rides by bicycles...
Service, especially in Vista restaurant is exceptional, especially by almost all male waiters, the restaurant manager and the Chef and Fruits Chef. You feel like dining at home !
Food in fine dining OriginE restaurant was outstanding, Service by the Kenyan waitress was fabulous.
Most amazing was our butler Jaaney (he called himself "our shadow"), you will rarely see him, but he silently arranges everything from the background to perfection (including an emergency trip to the hospital in Male). We could not think of a better "shadow".
Massages by the lovely Indonesian girls were excellent.
This resort is very well managed, all is well organized, even the house keeping does know exactly when you are out for breakfast and they are preparing the Villa without disturbing you.
All in all, a fantastic vacation in a fantastic resort in a beautiful environment, feeling like in a family home away from home with great value for the (not very small) money you pay. But it's worth every cent !
We will definitely be back soon.
My warm Greetings to the family of Ozen Reserve Bolifushi !
Andre

The property is extremely well placed with no disturbance and a great view of quiet expanse of uninterrupted sea view! The ocean view rooms are excellent with each room giving privacy for use of the private pool. There is a coral reef beneath which gives ample snorkelling opportunity without venturing far. But the best part is the service. Each room or guest is allocated a butler who takes care of all your requirements, takes care of your activity bookings , dinner arrangements everything. The whole staff from the cleaning staff to the waiters and chefs to general managers and senior directors are extremely caring and very friendly out and about checking on the welfare of the guests! Lots of personalised service!

Special thanks to chef Alok who gave us such special attention and couldn’t do enough for us, chef Aditya, chef Hari and our butler Mohammed who took care of all our needs! We had 2 meals at Trafition Saffron- some excellent Indian thalis!!

The Origine restaurant was excellent with great service from Nancy!!

Our experience at the spa was also excellent and we can’t help but go back again today!! Asti and Arlene our therapists did a great job!! Glad we did the first experience early on so we have the chance of a repeat!!!

All in all a wonderful experience!! We are not usually people who repeat holiday locations but this is definitely one for a repeat!!!

We stayed at the resort for 5 nights in last week of Oct, in the OWB This was our second trip to Maldives and earlier we stayed at Anantara Kihava, therefore we had similar expectations from this property.
The good:
The service was very good at restaurants.
The waters were crystal clear.
The rooms were spacious and clean.
Staff had wonderful attitude.

Places of improvement:
The butler was hit or miss, there were times when we kept waiting for buggy and no reply, or we just end up walking.
If they can place pots with water and spout to wash feet by the villas as other resorts, that would be great so you are not walking in with sand in your feet and shoes.
Food is good but not great, especially at the Arabic restaurant, where it was so so.
The toilet paper quality could be improved, too rough.

The Bad:
On the first night our toilet got clogged
On the second night our AC stopped working early in the morning
On the third day a light from inside the plunge pool came out and I could see the electric wire inside. We all rushed out of pool as it could be hazardous. It did take couple calls and half a day to get that fixed.
I did mention these issues to the management and these were rectified but it should not have happened comparing to the price you are paying.
Mind you there is very limited marine life around, they do have fish feeding every evening but other than that nothing much, few fishers her and there.

Final Verdict:
We did have an issue with a server which we informed the management and they took appropriate actions and we were completely satisfied.
There resort is old and showing age. The plunge pool had tiles breaking off, the light bulb in pool had yellowish particles by it, needs cleaning, the shower would have running water few minutes after closing and toilets had very low pressure. Overall, even though we had a very good time I don’t think the price is justified, hence I would go elsewhere next time.

Simply Maldives, A tourist agency, helped pick our honeymoon location based on our requirements; mainly in search for the best food, house coral reef, and our allocated budget.. Simoly Maldives picked perfectly with Ozen!

The water villa was huge, (a little dated, but spacious enough for a family with 2 young kids (maybe upto 12 even!)) and Island is perfect size, big enough to explore but not too big to feel overly busy. The resort provides cycles to get around, and when you feel it’s too hot or too late to cycle, your personal butler will pick you up in a caddy!

In terms of the crowd we felt there were more families (probably because of the sheer room sizes) than honey mooners during our stay, but nonetheless the restaurants were incredible and all had a lovely romantic touch!!!

The food at the restaurants were actually incredible. We ate the Middle Eastern place first, was good, but then the food just got better and better. The buffet restaurant was incredible, Chef Alok and his team catered bespoke menu items to our needs; ranging from British, Italian to indian (all dishes were incredible, with my wife saying some of the best she’s ever had!)

The actual Indian restaurant was also incredible (we went twice!) the service was immaculate from the waiter, Lav. Lav provided lots of education on the dishes, ingredients , their history and also went on to provide great tips on snorkelling!

Food and wine pairing at Origine was really really good. Hats of to them team! If you do go there and are a cigar smoker, they have an amazing cigar room; worth a butchers!

Lastly snorkelling is great; the house reef is fantastic. Good size and soo many fishes, i was lucky enough to see a turtle and shark. The wife only snorkelled in shallow water and she enjoyed; we saw loads of fishes by just snorkelling from our villa.

Our butler Iboo was very helpful and we were picked up, dropped off at any time of day; he even did a mini photo shoot for us !

Only bit of feedback - we would’ve appreciated a bit more guidance upfront how things work and their schedules for example, all water excursions are additional fees and they have Rota on diff types snorkelling, there is daily yoga and even some gym activities; we had to find out there were schedules ourselves.

Other than that we absolutely loved it.

We've been upgraded from OBLU SELECT Sangeli Resort due to COVID situation there. We've got two Ocean Pool VIllas which were really big size, comfortable with nice furniture and a huge terrace with pool. The villas were cleaned twice every day, they were spotlessly clean. We've travelled a lot, we've been several times in Maldives, we stayed at this resort before when it's name was Jumeirah Vittaveli. The new owner has developed a lot on the island. The food is much more better and there is a large selection. The all inclusive plan includes everything you need even the best quality champagnes, which is not usual in Maldives. Dinner is a'la cart but you can choose between 4 restaurants and they are all good quality, our fauvorite were Saffron and Sangu and the Maldives night in Vista del Mar.
Everyone was very kind and helpful. They really took care of everything we just asked. We have already stayed in other places in hotel brands like Four Seasons, Marriott, Astoria, but here the staff were much more kinder. Our butler Moosa fulfilled all our wishes along with his boss Ali. The resort’s manager, Luisa, went to all the guests ’tables every morning and asked if we were happy with everything.
We have to mention our waiter Ebay who served us everything during the meals, we could really ask him anything and he was always very kind and cheerful.
The island is beautiful although some area still undergoing renovations, but this is not disturbing at all. The reef was fantastic, beautiful fish to see while snorkeling. Fish feeding every night is a very good experience.
Our children tried the massage which was fantastic as well.
The resort’s shuttle boat is a huge catamaran, not noticing the ripples in it, the staff helped with check-in right up to the baggage drop-off.
There was only one thing I didn’t really like. We wanted to go fishing and we couldn’t make an agreement with the water sports team because for $ 1,000 they couldn’t give us three fishing rods and during 4 hours of fishing the price didn’t include a couple of beers or soft drinks. Our butler said we could take any drink from the villa, but I think for a thousand dollars it should have included that. This was a little bit annoying.
Overall it was one of our best holiday thanks to the kind and helpful staff. Thank you for being able to forget for a week in this difficult situation what is happening in the world right now, while being able to feel ourselves as safe as possible.

First can i say thank you to our friend "Jaaney", he is appointed as a butler for us however i do not like to use that title. If we asked for help he did what he could almost instantly, i have no idea when he rests! The BOLIFUSHI island resort is quite simply amazing, i have never been so upset to leave a holiday destination in my life. The resturant staff, bar staff and cleaners are all working tirelessly to make the holiday special. Nothing is too much trouble, pleasant, smiling, happy and always welcoming.
I would like to add that i have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and i am no stranger to what someone may expext of a 5 star resort. I doubt i will ever visit dubai again, there is little point when you can jump on another 3.5hr flight and arrive in Male.
There are so many people i would like to thank, however i think its fair to just thank everyone as not one member of your team faultered in any way.
About the resort: lovely layout, provided with bikes to help you get around although you will whitness many lazy peope asking for buggies to pick them up which the staff are happy to do. Its only small but very well layed out, 4 wonderful resturants, all in amazing locations, nothing ever feels too busy, water is lovely, maybe not the best sea life of the Maldives but amazing if its your first time. Many reedf gardens you can swim to within a minute or two, reef sharks, turtles, all types of fish. My kids loved exploring. The tides were not strong, the reef shelf was easy to reach all round the island.
Food was always good at all restaurants.
There was a themed night for valentines and i have never whitnessed so much effort by any hotel or venue.
Im heading back there soon, its quite simply amazing and im so upset to leave.
Thank you again Jaaney, i know i didnt ask you for a great deal but you were so genuine and helpful.
Oh one last note, the guy who helped us in the airport on departure, another level of service that ive never had, Zameel, thank you!!!!
Thank you all from the four of us, villa 405

Water villa 607 is perfect, sunset view, very spacious and luxurious. Sunsets there are the most amazing thing you will ever see. Furthermore with their all inclusive, being in the infinity pool with a glass of Champaign and free snacks is awesome.
The room needs some refurbishing here and there but nothing too serious. The hotel is not new, but this has also benefits and it is the attention and experience of all personnel, the hotel runs smoothly and has many people working there so anything you need just raise a hand and they will make it happen
Special mention to Ahsan, our butler who solved many issues for us and made our stay very comfortable carrying us in his little truck. Also to the chefs, my wife is coeliac and needs gluten free food, we felt they adapted everything perfectly without cross contamination. If you have this allergy do tell them in advance. Also note for hotel: you would do great if you focus on this specific gluten free allergy, advertise it on your web, have special menus on the hotel ready to deliver to customers specifying gluten free food. This will bring you many customers because Maldives has no hotel with this characteristics.
The food in general is AWESOME. It really is, all inclusive hotel with this level is not easy to find.
Beaches and snorkelling are a dream. Coral reef is awesome.
And also take into account that the boat from the main airport Male just takes around 25 minutes. After this quick ride we definitely were sure we made a good decision not catching an airplane to a far away resort. They take you just before the flight in a luxury boat, weather is not an issue for the boat. If we would have catched a flight maybe we would have lost several hours of our holiday.

We booked this resort as a special treat for my 50th birthday and my Husband’s 60th birthday and took along our 13 year old daughter, and what an amazing time we all had. We stayed in a private ocean water villa with a slide for 5 nights (which really wasn’t long enough!). As soon as we arrived at Male airport everything was taken care of until the moment we left Male airport at the end of our stay. The welcome we had when we arrived on the island was heart warming. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our butler Iboo and his trainer assistant Aloo were amazing too, organising everything we needed, in particular a romantic evening meal on the beach which was amazing (bit pricey though and alcoholic drinks not included which was disappointing). The massages in the spa were also divine, the best massages we’ve ever had in a truly beautiful location, big thanks to Asthi, Arlene and Zabel. Snorkelling was great fun and so was the ice skating, which took some getting used to ! There was so much choice of food and drinks and the champagne was flowing all day and night. We really didn’t want to leave and wished we’d booked a longer stay. The send off from the island at the end of our stay was also heart warming. We felt very special and had the best holiday we’ve ever had.

Our only tiny criticisms would be that the maxi bar contained lots of wine and beer but no spirits and there was no information in the villa as to what activities, day trips etc were available.

Other than that, it was heaven on earth.
