We were on a Cruise Ship Tour of The Paua Bay Sheep Farm on Feb 8, 2017 from the Cruise Ship Regal Princess. The family at the farm was wonderful to visit with. We really got to know the family and understand how a sheep farm works, including a sheep shearing demo by his daughter in law Hannah. She also...

Experience what life is like for a sheep farmer, doing it for four generations!! Murray, the current patriarch, relates the history of how his ancestors arrived from Italy and France. How they struggled in this harsh terrain. How they succeeded and today have 2,700 acres with sheep and cows. They also will do a sheep shearing demonstration for you. As...

We only came for a day visit but Sue and Murray's hospitality made us feel like family. The house gardens (and the house itself) are immaculate. Sue's scones are to die for. Murray's stories are fantastic and heartbreaking at the same time. The views are amazing. Our teenage children thought it would be "lame" to visit a working sheep farm...

This was our first trip to New Zealand and after spending 4 nights in Queenstown, we had decided to stay 2 nights at a farm near Christchurch. After reading the previous reviews on tripadvisor, decided to stay at Puau Bay. Although at times it looked like we were driving in the middle of nowhere (the farm is about 1.5 hours...

After 3 weeks in NZ, Paua Bay was our final 2 nights before heading home and it was perfection. We had a wonderful time chatting with Murray and Sue, got to take part in the farm tour and heard all about the trials and tribulations of farming in such a remote area and lost track of how many scones we...

A real farm set in beautiful countryside, lush green hills roll down to the sea. French doors from the rose covered veranda open to THE MOST delightful bedroom, all with those gorgeous views! Peace and quiet abound. Our hosts made this our most favorite place to stay in all of New Zealand. Sue and Murray are charming, generous and full...

If you have imagined awakening with a flamingo sunrise over the South Pacific outside your bedroom window, with an early coffee on the veranda overlooking a lush English garden, a hearty breakfast before an invigorating hike over verdant hills...this is the place for you!!! So remote, so quiet, yet with all the comforts of home. Sue and Murray are gentle...

This was by far the best B&B stay we have had in 25 years. Set against the sweeping magnificence of the Banks Peninsula's hills and seascapes, the house, the property, the gardens and the guest suite are charming beyond words. Everything about this rustic Farmstay is a feast for the senses - sights, sounds, and textures of the countryside; aromas...

Very comfortable room and bathroom, with attractive and interesting decor, in a lovely farmhouse. The location is remote, beautiful and very quiet. Stunning scenery and a delightful garden. Murray and Sue couldn't be more friendly or helpful. We were made to feel at home and were shown all around the 960 acre farm. This is perfect for those that love...
