This property is in a quiet neighbourhood close to a river. Anthea, the host, makes you very welcome and offers great advice on what you can do while staying in the Turangi area. The accommodation is of the highest quality with top class fittings and furnishings. The breakfast provided by Anthea is more than adequate and she will do her best...

We stayed in the Admirals' room with a full view of the beautiful and creative garden. A wonderful room to relax in with a large bathroom, heated floor, deep bath and the sound of the nearby river. Anthea helped us plan our activities and cooked wonderful meals while we explored the beauty of the Central Plateau. We walked around Lake...

Set in a residential neighborhood, River Birches is a small oasis of tranquility. We stayed at the Major's Room, which is apart from the main house, with view of the beautiful garden. It felt very secluded and luxurious. Very nice host, who happily shares information about the area, things to see and doo, and helps book restaurants etc in the...

We stayed in the cottage next to the B&B. it's really more of an entire house. The place is amazing. Everything was like new. The style is clean and modern. Full kitchen and living area. Washer /dryer. The back garden with Koi pond was elegant and peaceful. The owner was graceful, helpful and organized. I could describe River Birches the...

This is a beautifully located lodge and very clean, however it may not provide the level of service one might expect for a luxury lodge at this price. The hospitality while very pleasant seemed somewhat disinclined to provide a complete service.

This visit was my 4th year in a row and I had another fantastic week. The 'cottage' is great for groups of friends or families (there were 6 of us) and we are always made to feel welcome and we are always looked after in excellent fashion Great location for a range of activities, we spent most of the time...

Just spent a week here. Great food, great location, great people, great hospitality. Nowhere else could come close. Where else does the hostess produce a bottle of Rockford Basket Press to accompany two types of roast lamb on your last night? Unbelievable!

The weather was perfect, the river sang all day, the Lodge and the Cottage both provided excellent accomodation for the wedding; and the outdoor setting of a raised deck in a walled garden flanked by the Lodge was truly wonderful. Great to set the tables outside under all the umbellas to keep us in the shade, flowers in the frame,...

Excellent Accommodation and the air was so fresh coming from Auckland I really noticed it. The highlight for me apart from attending my Sister's wedding which was an experience in itself, is the location of the river. I got some wonderful pictures which will remain a treasure to me till my dying day.

Anthea and Bill made us feel welcome and looked after us. So much great food, luckily there's plenty of bush walking and mountain biking close by, so I could come back the next day and eat more great food not feeling too guilty! The hosts have lived in the area for a long time, and are a great source of...
