The best thing about this hotel is the staff - all very helpful and friendly. It's pretty much the only place to stay in the area and a must on the West Highland Way but that doesn't seem to have made it complacent.

My family and I had been travelling on the West highland way and stayed the night at the King's House Hotel. The hotel was warm and had decent bar food, but its interior was a bit disappointing. The bar seats were torn, and the carpets needed replaced. A little shabby. However it provided a perfect nights sleep followed by a...

A very old establishment and full of history and interest. Warm and cosy, good food, incredible views from the windows. Traditional and welcoming. Love it, hope it never changes! As other people say it's a bit tired but that is what makes it so special and charming, like going back in time a bit, but in a good way.

My friend and I stayed for one night before attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge (failed!). The room was adequate; comfortable bed, bath, slower and toilet. All very clean, slightly rough about the edges, but at £120 for a triple-bed room that's to be expected. We ate at the hotel, which was really nice. The outstanding dish for me was haggis...

I have stopped at this place on a few occassions, and loved the food and location. The place is in need of re vamping, I would love to stay but BOTH the price and the state of the rooms have put me off, but I cannot fault the food and location, fantastic. Especially with the deer on the door step.

The kings house hotel is in a location that is quite simply second to none. Sure, its a bit tired but that adds to its charm. Jess and the staff are great, and sitting in the front lounge at night with a pint at the fire when there's a hoolie blazing outside has to be one of life's richest experiences....

This was the second time I've stayed just for one night here. It was just as peaceful and relaxing as I remembered (mind you it was only last October I stayed and even my memory isn't that bad) Had booked two rooms a triple and a double for myself hubby and three kids. As we arrived after last food orders(8.30pm)...

This place is in a great location but the bar is average. The reviews that say it is the worst in the world or the best ever are overstating their points... It is average. The bar area is fairly interesting our food was good. The burger was well prepared and cooked. Presentation was fine. It came in a timely fashion....

Where to begin....? Upon arrival you enter a time warp. It reminded me of 1965. Decor, seating, carpets, toilet. I would guess total expenditure of £5000 since my last visit 25 years ago. Lounge windows which look out over river and mountains are FROSTED! Staff uniforms disgusting, not clean. Seating not fit for dogs. Poor, poor, poor.
