I use this hostel when climbing in gredos. Rooms are clean and warm. The family also run a restaurant, bar gredos, which offers excellent local food and Alfonso is there till last drinks whatever time that might be!

Hoyos del Espino is an exceptionally welcoming village located at the main entrance road to the wonderful Sierra de Gredos natural reserve, and with stunning views of the mountains. It has lots of self-catering 'casas rurales' but few hotels or hostals geared to the needs of the more outgoing cyclists, hikers, birdwatchers etc who want to maximise their time on...

Un hostal muy agradable! We had a very nice stay in Hostal Alfonso! The rooms are nice and clean, the food in Bar Gredos tasted very good and the owners of the hostal are very friendly people who can tell you lots of 'things to do' in the Sierra de Gredos.

My wife and I stayed two nights mid-week. The room was clean and bright, with modern fixtures and unusually for a place of its price (€50 per night) even provided toiletries.
