The third time we spent our holiday in Robinson, again we had a great time! The rooms are quiet and super clean, the food is great, and the service is really friendly. Special thanks to Maxi at the front desk for her flexibility! 😉
This hotel has been proposed by TUI and we don't regret it. Mostly visited by German tourists, this accomodation needs to be better known by other nationalties. It is situated in an natural reserve, surrounded by two golf courses, away from the touristical west side of Albufeira and Villamoura and not far away from the Spanish border. Very friendly personnel everywhere on the domain. We will return on another location of the Robinson Club company. If you are with a little child and you have a stroller, ask a room on the groundfloor.…
We had a good break at this hotel and enjoyed our time. There are also some wonderful beaches a short drive away. Pros: Food was very good for an all inclusive and the selection was varied and they also had healthy options. Staff in the main were very attentive and pleasant Plenty of sun beds therefore it didn’t feel a rush to get one. Entertainment was good and for some of the week outside around the pool which was fab. We didn’t go to any shows in the theatre Environmentally friendly, paper straws, recycling where they can and the plastic glasses around the pool are reusable. Cons (in our opinion) Air con was virtually non existent in our room, we did mention it 3 times but it just didn’t make a nights sleep particularly comfortable. This may not be the case in other rooms. This is not a beach front hotel and it is longer than a 15 minute walk to the edge of the sea and sun loungers. The hotel do provide lifts down to the beach but there is still another 5/10 minute walk where the buggy drops you off if you want to get to the ocean. The week we were there, there were a lot of boisterous children who were running around the beds, pool, smacking each other with noodles/inflatables in fact anything they could get their hands on. Jumping into the pool without looking and normally landing on someone’s head. Ideally the hotel/ life guard would prevent some of this behaviour. I don’t want to be a kill joy, I want kids to have fun but not at the expense of mine and my families enjoyment. There is only one pool and it gets absolutely rammed in the afternoon, hence why the above was a problem for us. There are only a small number of outdoor dining tables and as a result people queue and make a mad dash to get one outside when the restaurant opens at 730pm. A lot of them are sharing tables which seat 8/10 people and to some people this won’t be a problem. At dinner, my family and I enjoy our own company. People also tend to get an outside table and remain there all evening so if there is more than 2 of you unless you are prepared to queue (and run, yes that did happen)you will more than likely eat indoors. As I said above we did have a great time but I am afraid the cons outweighed the pros for us and it is unlikely we will return.…
A friend of mine recommended this resort, booked last minute and had a great time. It’s mainly German speaking but I found the whole Robinson team very helpful. Food was great and enjoyed all the meals. There where so many activities and I made the most them apart from the golf. Its geared towards families but suited me a lot. Would definitely go again …
PROS: BEAUTIFUL SETTING- A huge golfing resort with beautifully maintained grounds, complete other end of the spectrum from the concrete mega complexes of many other European sunshine resorts. ACCOMMODATION- Very modern, comfortable rooms, comfortable beds and clean modern bathrooms. We stayed in a ground level economy room and it was absolutely lovely with a small Terrace area overlooking a huge central garden. CATERING- All inclusive and delicious. Very wide range of food and all great quality. The house wines are lovely and we had no complaints. SERVICE- Very accommodating and pleasant staff everywhere, nothing is too much trouble. ACTIVITIES- This list of activities and classes goes on forever and the facilities are fantastic. The gym is very modern with everything you’d need during your stay although it did close very early at 19:30. CONS: ACCOMMODATION- There can at times be a fair bit of noise if you are located nearer the main buildings, people talking as they walk by your rooms, the doors have a tendency to slam and you do hear it constantly during the day. There are no irons in the rooms and it took a fairly long time to get one delivered. CHILDREN- If you come during school holidays there will be LOTS of children everywhere and they are very noisy. There doesn’t seem to be much for them to do in the evenings. The adult, relaxed atmosphere is gone during school holiday season. My fault for booking at the end of July. GERMAN RESORT- Not so much of a con if you’re German, and as a Brit, I found them very nice and they minded their own business although ALL of the sun loungers will be reserved with towels and bags even though the owners are nowhere to be seen for hours at a time and the staff seen fairly reluctant to police this as you get a towel card back when you hand in the towel. The tables in prime spots in the buffet restaurant will also be reserved with bags etc. When I say everything is in German, I mean EVERYTHING IS IN GERMAN! You’ll be greeted in German everywhere, the entertainment is in German, the Exercise Classes are in German, the signage and 99% of the guests are German. It can leave you feeling a little isolated and not included at times. I guess it is Portugal, why should I expect it to be in English and not German! CONCLUSION: I would absolutely come here again and I had a lovely time despite the cons, but I would do it out of the school holidays. …
