Our getaway to Nosara was wonderful. This area has a lot to offer for couples or friend trip travel. The hotel we stayed at was wonderful and provided lush surroundings, warm and friendly staff and a great location, a short direct walk to the beach. Pura Vida!

Hotel's Favourite
Really happy with our stay at this hotel. It is beautiful and has everything you would want. The pool is pretty and warm. The grounds are built right into the natural landscape so you really feel close to nature. There are a lot of developments around, which don't seem to be able to preserve so much of the vegetation, so it felt really nice to call this hotel home for the week. You are a close walk to the beach and the main drag of town and those restaurants. You can take the free hotel bikes and explore a little quicker. If you want to explore further I would recommend renting a golf cart, but we just stayed in town and went to the beach. Breakfast was great and lunch and dinner were pretty good too. They had recommendations for surfing and were able to get our COVID tests scheduled on premises. We stayed in the treehouse, which was really cool and unique, but unless you are from a city you may want to choose a different room since the road is pretty loud. The AC is far from the bed and I'm a hot sleeper so that didn't help either. Really cool room though since you have your own tiny house. Nosara is a great place with beautiful beaches and charming little beach town. Highly recommended for anyone. At first I thought it was annoying how there were no hotels on the beach, but the fact that it is protected the way it is, makes it even more special. Its a nice, quick walk too.

I would highly recommend Hotel Guiones to anyone visiting Nosara! The staff was amazingly helpful and made me feel right at home. It was a very classy scene without being pretentious . The room was extremely comfortable and the beds were great. I enjoyed listening to the howler monkeys from the front porch while drinking the complementary locally roasted coffee they provided. The pool was clean and very serene. One of my favorite parts of the trip was borrowing the bikes that they loan out and having the freedom to ride around town…very short ride to the beach. The restaurant on site had the best food in town! There was nothing lacking and I can’t wait to go back!!

I go down here once a year. They’re always super friendly. I always have a blast just going to the beach and being in the warm sun. And seeing all the creatures like lizards. Holler monkeys. And the food and the staff are amazing. Always super present And do everything that you ask for and more I couldn’t recommend this place enough

We had to reconfigure our trip due to missing a flight. The Hotel Guinones staff was empathetic and gracious by issuing a credit for a later date. Their professional and warm communication provided peace of mind. Upon arriving in late August, we were truly impressed with the grounds and staff. Jorge was extremely helpful (even surprising us with a room upgrade!). The property is within walking distance to the beach and a few restaurants. Their restaurant setting and bar are beautiful with a thoughtfully constructed menu. The property was lush with beautiful plants and trees surrounding a cute centralized pool! Just perfect. And, the complimentary breakfast was an added luxury that was DELICIOUS. If looking for a boutique hotel, with a staff that cares about their guests in a lush Nosara setting, Hotel Guinones is a recommend. We are thankful for their kindness and hospitality. Pura Vida!

Everything about Hotel Guiones felt divine. The landscaping on the property and around the pool was beautiful. I loved that there was a yoga platform. The cute accents with the huge crystals allowed me to feel uplifted. Our room was simple and perfect. The bedding was so soft, clean and cozi. Having the restaurant El Local just a few steps from our room was magical. I enjoy eating local and healthy options as well as indulging with mac n cheese. Our friends even suggested that we gather everyone from around the area to dine at the restaurant together and it was perfect for our group! ...We also being able to walk down to the beach and so many great shops and restaurants nearby. My partner made a joke that we want to move in permenantly and we really would if we could. Also great touch with the complimentary local coffee in the room and the most delicious chocolates and drinks to purchase by the pool. I also enjoyed the provided organic hair and body care products. Oh and our porch had a beautiful hammock and chairs. The turkish blankets in the room were perfect to use for the beach and also to cozy up in the room. Thank you for creating such a beautiful and memorable experience for our first time in Nosara!

This was our second trip to Nosara, we’d previously stayed at Olas Verdes and loved it. Hotel Guiones has a very laid back vibe, perfect for what we were after. The hotel grounds are immaculate, the rooms tastefully decorated and the pool is just wonderful (with added iguanas!). I was slightly disappointed with the location as it was significantly further from the beach than the website suggested. Partly my fault as I should have checked on a map but it’s around a kilometre so hardly a few steps. The property is on the side of a steep hill and there are many steps and slopes. I’m sure this isn’t a problem for many but I have very obvious arthritis (walk with a stick), had two young kids and my mother who is in her mid 70s and we were still expected to drag our luggage to and from our rooms without assistance. I also found having to ask if you wanted your room cleaned to be an odd set up - for the price point it should absolutely be done as standard, I felt almost cheeky asking everyday. Even with the room cleaning, despite being the for 5 nights, the (very obviously dirty) towels, flannels and sheets (Nosara is very dusty, impossible to keep white sheets clean) weren’t changed only made neat. The restaurant did some excellent food in the evenings, particularly the risottos, and some great cocktails. There was also a basic kitchenette in one of our rooms with a fridge, kettle, plates etc which was very useful for fixing a quick lunch. The breakfast was decent but pretty slow - we had a few days of activities on the beach at 9am and despite getting their bang on 7.30 for breakfast it often wouldn’t arrive until gone 8.30. It’s also a bit stingy for what’s included- kids pancakes are but if you want the adults it’s $15, only one small glass of orange juice per person, smoothies are around $5-7 and not included. The staff were all very friendly and really helpful. Our surf lesson was cancelled one day with 20 minutes notice and they managed to reorganise for us. Overall a beautiful hotel in a very cool little town.

Loved this place. The hotel grounds and rooms are so cool. It's pretty expensive, but my wife and I both agreed that it was worth it. It's a little outside the "happenin" neighborhoods in Nosara, but it's a short walk to get to the hotel -- and even quicker by bicycle or motorbike (we rented motorbikes while we were there). The restaurant was great, the pool was great. We saw ton of howler monkeys in the trees while we were there. All-around a great spot if you're looking for a vacation retreat. FYI I think this place is called "Hotel Guiones" now.

A group of us vacationed in Nosara last week. We rented a private home and made the most of our visit with surfing, adventuring and exploring. Four of us wanted to go horseback riding on the beach, but the outfitter I contacted did not return my call. While shopping in town, we stopped at the Gardens hotel to visit a custom jewelry design shop and I asked about horseback riding. The proprietor referred us to the hotel concierge. The three women in the office were incredibly helpful! They contacted their preferred outfitter, arranged for our horseback riding excursion, obtained all pricing and location information, and confirmed through WhatsApp. The following day, I received a confirmation email and assistance in confirming our meeting location with the excursion company. I had informed the staff upfront that we were not guests of the hotel, but they went above and beyond to set up our excursion simply to help us out. I cannot say enough about the level of customer service we received! I would stay at this location in a heartbeat next time.
