A great, well run little hotel with an amazing view. Fantastic sunsets from the sunset bar. The couple who run the lodge are very professional and helpful. They are on top of everything. From the lodge we did a paddleboard tour of the nearby river. We also visited the Wildlife Sanctuary and went surfing. The only downside was our communications...

After a few days near Tamarindo, my husband and I were ready for the quiet jungle surroundings at Lagarta Lodge. We stayed in room #8 which was high on the hillside. (Getting the luggage there was a workout and I was grateful for the assistance.) Once in our room, it felt like a treehouse. A spacious deck overlooking the Reserve...

Went there on a self-guided tour of the reserve a little before 9am. Not much to see other than some neat trees. Hard to keep kids interested in trees for 2 hours though. Sounds like going with a guide might be better from other reviews. I know this place is supposed to be a nice hotel, but the smell of...

Dear Visitor. Many thanks for your comment. Your visit has probably been at that very moment, when we were working on the hotel compost which is not far from the parking area. This is a work we have to do from time to time to get nice organic fertilizer for our plants and the hotel garden. We are very sorry...

Our best during our honeymoon in Costa Rica. The view is stunning, the room are very comfortable. From the hotel, you can go for a hike in the reserve with a naturalist, we recommend it highly as we learnt a lot and saw a lot of widlife. The hotel is located 15 min by walk from a very nice beach....

We were staying at a nearby B&B, so I cannot review the rooms, but we did have dinner there. The view is probably the best part (although you'll have to go before sunset) and if I were to come back I would love to enjoy their "Sunset Bar". The food however was only okay, or perhaps we didn't order the...

Dear Guest many thanks for visiting Lagarta Lodge Nosara. You are right, the view and the sunset from the Sunset Bar is the most espectacular one in Nosara. Dining is after Sunset in the separate restaurant above, where me or my husband are always around to verify that everything is ok. Since we did not know about a too salty...

The most Amazing views in Nosara! The dinner with drinks on the sunset deck is the most memorable sunset and dinner I had in Costa Rica. The food is delicious and fresh. The rooms in the lodge are large and rustic and all have amazing views of the ocean and the river mouth. I highly recommend staying here and hiking...

Stayed our final three nights in costa rica at this beautifully located and well-run hotel. great views from our large well-appointed room, with vaulted ceilings, several ceiling fans, A/C, small & quiet fridge, sitting table/chairs, writing desk, large king bed (mostly firm), walk in shower, modern toilet and sink. Good lighting options too, for bright or soft lighting. Fan on...

Hotel Lagarta is a restaurant with beautiful views that happens to have six rooms for let. The rooms are basic/fine but don't expect luxury or much attention from the staff. The views from the room are exceptional, however. Our night's sleep was negatively impacted by a party room that was never shut down by hotel staff. The owners did acknowledge...

Dear Guest – many thanks for staying at Lagarta Lodge. Since your stay was just one night you maybe didn’t had the time to experience the whole Lagarta Lodge service and infrastructure. At Lagarta Lodge there are six standard fan rooms (where you were in) and further up six junior suites with AC. Nice to hear that you liked the...

We stayed here a few years ago and I am finally writing a short review which may be slightly out of date and is too vague and unspecific, but nevertheless has a point. For what it is worth, I will say that the lodge and surrounding area made a lasting impression as one of my favorite places in the world....

We enjoyed our stay over all, but there were some drawbacks. The beds were okay, not the most comfortable. Our room felt a bit charmless. The food is mediocre, although the breakfast for $10 is good. Lots of choices and all you can eat. Unfortunately, at times there was a distinct smell of a septic system at one end of...
