I stayed here for a few days with my uncle. It's a lovely place, great food, clean comfortable rooms but as we didn't have own transport after an initial explore there wasn't much to do. There is a walk by the side if the hotel which was good for a morning and playa Nosara is lovely but the trek back... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for the honest feedback. We regret that you didn't have much to do and that you felt the uphill track to be uncomfortable. We have been completely renovating and extending our hotel during the last months and will be reopening soon. The new property will offer many on-site attractions, such as two infinity pools, a jacuzzi,... More

Lagarta Lodge set a new bar for me in what I think a hotel can offer. From the minute we arrived, sweaty and tired from the trip (we drove in from north on the Nicoya Peninsula), set down our bags, and were offered welcome drinks and a chance to drink in the amazing view, I was charmed. The rooms are... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your great review. We have been completely renovating and extending our hotel during the last months and will be reopening soon. In future, you will be able to enjoy the spectacular view from many different places, such as two infinity pools, a jacuzzi, a restaurant, a lounge exclusively for hotel guests, etc. We would be... This is a nice place and I don't want to give it a negative review as the owners and workers are so nice and it may be the right place for some. However, I would not stay here again for the following: 1. Distance from town and the more 'happening' beach (surfing) is about a 10 minute ride by car... More

Amazing views, really good food, courteous staff, simple clean accommodations, inviting pool-now the problem will be finding availability! Enjoyed our stay for the views alone and eager to return to this charming spot-

Unbelievable views of nothing else but nature at his finest. Food to die for. Staff who are the kindest people in the world. Extra's are a lovely pool to unwind in with free towels available, a private terras with spectacular views and a possibility to go into the forest with magnificent trees, birds and monkeys.

Lagarta Lodge is simply breathtaking. From the minute you arrive and walk through reception and see the view it is the beginning of a truly special experience. The rooms are great but standing on the balcony at canopy level and watching the sheer variety of birds, monkeys etc is spellbinding. Balanced over the river the views, especially at sunset, are... Lagarta Lodge is high on a hill in Nosara with absolutely gorgeous panoramic views of the beach and the jungle. The best views are from the Sunset Bar, but the open air dining room is a close second. The rooms have huge balconies, so you can enjoy the view privately as well. The food (particularly the breakfast) is outstanding and... More

Agree with all the positive reviews. Here are a couple of things to consider: 1. the lodge is somewhat remote. We did not have a car and were not comfortable walking to other restaurants. Some are not too far but it's hot and dusty. We rented cabs for $15 one way. Good walkers can make it to some places in... More
