In Salbris we found a restaurant with fresh water fish on the menu. The restaurant of the Hotel du Lion d’Or was quaintly provincial France, slightly old fashioned with a look of a private dining room. The Sandre [Pike-Perch] and the Dorade [Bream] were exquisite, delicately cooked & well served. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, served in such surroundings. The...

An empty restaurant, but they offered a set price lunch, and the dining room looked welcoming. The menu was a bit limited, and we did not fancy any of the starters, but the main course fish was well cooked and presented. Deserts again were a bit limited, with few ice cream flavours, but the chocolate gateau was delicious.

A couple of the highly critical reviews of this place nearly put us off but it was absolutely fine. Clean, comfortable rooms, good food and friendly staff. It's well located as a stopover if you're travelling south from the dieppe ferry. So all in all its a good, reasonably priced option. The towels are scratchy though!

We were greeted by owner? And told where our room was, it was awful ,miserable and uninviting the only good thing about it was that the bed was nice and clean. Breakfast was 7.90 euro each , a piece of baguette and one croissant each and a cup of coffee. The towels in the room were like sand paper and...

We (a family of 4) ate an evening meal here whilst staying at the nearby Les Alicourts campsite. I am afraid that the food was truly appalling. We had the set menu at 18 euros a head. The starter I chose (Tete de veau) was grey and slimy. The steaks we ordered were tough and almost inedible, and the puddings...

Central location from shopping, the cathedral and the tapestry is a good reason to pick this hotel. Our room was spacious with a good view but was located up four flights. Good pick if you are healthy but otherwise make sure to ask for a Lowe floor as there is no elevator. Service is not excessive but hinge get done.

This was a great find. Clean, simple, cheap (55Euros for the night including the dog for no extra charge), in a town big enough to offer several places to eat. And a good wi fi in the room. Breakfast was croissants, juice, coffee and rolls at €6.50 each. And just off the motorway and a couple of hours from channel...
