We went there as we had been told it was open, but when we arrived it was all closed. They opened it for us and the service was 5 stars, but it had clearly not been open for a while and the menu was not what we expected. Food was good though, but as it wasn't very clean anywhere we...

Dear Mariann, Thanks for taking your time to write a review. But are you sure that this review is for us? Karamba is open since beginning June till end March every year..... and our hotel is extremely clean.... so all went fine not because the luck was because our care. You also recognise that the food was good. You shall...

The hotel was great. It's a very secluded spot, we were the only ones there when we visited in mid-March. The rooms and facilities are nice, and the open-air restaurant/bar/lounge areas are very comfortable and overlook the water. The staff/management were very nice as well. There's a working beach (many local fisherman and boat-owners) just south of the resort accessible...

Thanks Matthew for visiting Karamba, for enjoying your stay with us and for not reflecting your disappointed experience with the Dolphin swim activity in your overall rating of the Resort. Also for letting us know that was a "Karamba employee" the one that offered you that bad experience... most probably he is working for some beach-boy at the same time.......

The hotel is absolutely to fall in love with! It has only 3 stars on booking.com, but the view, privacy, outdoor baths and fresh flowers on the bed everynight is something that gives you all you need sometimes. It is a bit on the rocks, but there are stairs that go straight into the ocean and beautiful reef to explore...

Karamba is a remarkable place. We came here after one night in Nungwi, and this was like a breath of fresh air, after hectic touristy beach of overdeveloped Nungwi. The village Kizimkazi is much more 'local', 'real' than other beachside settlements we visited in Zanzibar. Obviously, tastes differ - and whilst some might miss the buzz of a more busy...

We spent 2 nights at Karamba at the end of our visit to Tanzania. The position is great, overlooking the ocean with lovely large open plan dining area and bar, and swimming pool overlooking the sea. The rooms are simple but comfortable although our fan was not positioned over the bed and it is very hot at night. The place is...

We stayed here for only one night, during our cycle tour around Zanzibar. Karamba is situated near a small fishing Village in a very quiet area. Our bungalow was simply furnitured, but very clean and with a nice terrace overlooking the ocean. Swimmingpool area is a very relaxing place. Staff is very friendly. And the food is really delicious: our...

I had amazing time here. First when I was driving to the hotel I laughed and wanted to go back because it looked like a ghost town. But when I saw my room and saw the sunset there is no other place like this. I recommend if you want a good place to stay that feels like home, then this...

Best relation quality-price I could find in Zanzibar. Perfectly located with safe beach in front of the door and with many exotical shells, great kitchen, friendly staff. They propose lots of activities (Fishing, swimming with dolphins, dhow-saling to sandbank, spice-tour, visit of Jozani-Forest). Thank you Karamba, you made me feel home!
