A random find on Booking.com that turned out to be better than I imagined. Casa Cordati is a working/open museum on the first floor which you have free access to at any time you like even when it's closed! Accommodation was on the second floor and included an amazing attic space. Giordano whose Grandfather is the subject of the museum...

A spacious and well located apartment with a very comfortable bed and everything you need. The building was of great historical interest and the art work fascinating. The visit to the roof terrace gave a great view of the town. The owner was friendly and attentive. I recommend a stay here. Great value and location in the centre of Barga.

Ever fancied having the keys to a museum? Ever fancied having the keys to a huge wooden door in an ancient Italian road? If you do, its simple. Book a room here. Quirky doesnt begin to explain how it feels walking through the door at midnight and climbing the stairs to your room. Surrounded by history your imagination can run...

We were intrigued at every turn and to spend a night amidst the living museum of one of Barga's renowned artists was truly magical. Our two rooms were well equipped with everything we needed with wonderful views over the town. Centrally located within walking distance to cafes and eateries. We were charmed.

The Big Room has been our choice on each of our three visits to Casa Cordati. When Giordano was a youngster, it was a children's room and there were sometimes five small boys from the extended family sleeping there. We imagined pillow fights at bedtime and the sheets being pulled off a sleepyhead in the morning. It was good to...

Quirky place but the accommodation had everything we needed. We are fans of the art museum and felt it added to the ambience. Custodian/owner is a nice guy. May book for longer if we were to return to Tuscany.

I have recently stayed, for a month, in the apartment at Casa Cordata in Barga. The apartment was perfect for my requirements.... room for friends to stay, and room for me to write and explore the wonderful centro storico of Barga. Giordano, my host, could not have been more helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for him. The garden...

We stayed at Casa Cordati at the end of April 2015. It was a big surprise to see such an usual place but a wonderful experience to stay not at the hotel but at actual palazzo with a museum hall and such a wonderful feeling of fading beauty. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The common area at the...

We stayed in the apartment within this wonderful museum devoted to the owner's artist grandfather. The apartment was large, functional and simply furnished and equipped for self catering which was perfect for us. The owner Giordano was helpful, welcoming and hospitable. This place is really unique-more a home than a hotel, and if you love paintings, and old buildings, and...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights whilst attending a family wedding. It is situated in the heart of the old town it is also the base for the Bruno Giordano museum and is owned by his grandson. Our room on the second floor was huge consisting of two double rooms with its own bathroom. It is quirky...
