I stayed here for the last 3 nights on business and from the outset found the staff to be very attentive to the needs of the residents. The breakfast was freshly cooked and the evening meal was gorgeous. The chef has some secret sauces/flavourings which complimented the dishes it was served with.

The receptionist was very welcoming and during our one night stay all the staff were very friendly. The hotel is well decorated and the restaurant is comfortable with a short but good menu choice. We did have a problem with the wifi in the room, but this is apparently endemic in the area. They have a good selection of TV...

This hotel is in an old listed building in the centre of town. My daughter and I had a family room which was well appointed with comfortable beds. The bathroom was typical of an older builder and possibly not originally designed as a bathroom and was really cold first thing in the morning in a wet windy day with no...

We recently 'over nighted' while visiting nearby Wells. Overall the stay was good with friendly and welcoming people. Room was OK although the bathroom was too small - however not a big deal. Evening meal and breakfast were good in the comfortable and well presented restaurant room. Service was very engaging and attentive.

We had been looking for accommodation in Glastonbury without finding what we wanted (TA should have a look at the reviews on some of the places there). Took a chance and went the short distance to Shepton Mallet and were very glad we did. The first impressions were excellent as we checked in. Very helpful and informative. The double room...

We were greeted warmly and shown to our room....had a wander around and were impressed with the building itself. Had a look at the garden and decided to get back from our wander around Shepton Mallet in time for a pre dinner drink which we did. Lovely waitress brought the menu out to us and when we chose said relax...

We arrived at a lovely reception area where we sat with our baby. We were greeted by Lorraine (the hotel owner) who was very warm and gave us our key. We stayed in the forget me not room which was a great size with the cosiest bed :-) In the morning we were greeted by Tia who took our food...

As we were attending a funeral in the area we decided to stay a night here rather than drive 300 miles in one day. We had previously visited The Shrubbery in the spring of 2014 and had enjoyed our stay. The hotel is now under new management and the public areas have been tastefully revamped. The bedrooms are scheduled to...

We held a funeral Wake here on 15th March 2016 and could not have received better service. The food was excellent, both in quality and quantity and the hotel was flexible with regard to catering for uncertain numbers and all very competitively priced. No hesitation in recommending this venue.
