Thanks Lorraine, Mark and your great staff for a wonderful week in your hotel. We were made to feel welcome the moment we stepped inside the front door and felt like family by the time we left. The food was delicious, with generous portions at a great price. I highly recommend the cottage pie! Yum! Your tips on places to...

Came all the way from Australia and could not be made to feel more welcome and at home!! Lorraine and Mark went above and beyond and were a great help with local knowledge. Being a foodie I was very excited to find that meals are excellent and exceptional value. Veggie burger and Pork tenderloin are to die for!! Great to...

A super hotel, friendly and welcoming. Clean and great food. Our room was a good size with a tea tray and bottled water. This is an ideal location to visit the local area, Wells, Bath, Street, Cheddar. All the staff are welcoming and friendly.

Literally cannot fault The Shrubbery. Very friendly welcome, great choice of drinks and the food is the best we have had across Shepton and beyond. Great value for money. Lovely little bar area that is never noisy and is a league above other watering holes in Shepton, and the restaurant is perfect for a special occasion. The walled garden is...

Working away for the week with colleagues with 4 rooms being booked. All seemed ok with parking and nice welcome, however when entering my room I found it cold, very noisy (overlooking the car park) and the most uncomfortable bed i have slept in for years, every spring noticeable. I decided to have a coffee and eat the complimentary biscuit...

Firstly, thank you for your feed back, without this I am not aware of certain issues that may arise..... i.e. the comfort of beds! This has now being dealt with. I had a problem with the water boiler through December, but this has now been sorted, so hopefully no further issues will occur. My housekeeper is normally very good, but...

We stayed here as a family of 5 after a day at longleat. The owner has been extremely helpful from the first contact. The food is also great. Only faults (very minor) the shower could be more power and the room we had a few scuffs and scrapes.

Many thanks for taking the time to review us. Being an old building, the water pressure is sometimes a problem, particularly when we have a full hotel....... comment noted! Sorry about the scuffs and scrapes, we have had a very busy year (mostly full since 11th January) which does not leave much time for maintenance, but we are aware of...

Hotel has a lot of original features and quirky feel. Staying every weekend over a December and mine and my sons first weekend has been really enjoyable. Food is amazing in the restaurant and rooms are value for money with comfy beds, lovely feel to the rooms and relaxing. Our room was above the bar area and front so had...

We only stopped the one night, but found it to be a very clean, friendly and comfortable hotel. the breakfast was first rate and plentiful. They did what I really like and these days the five star hotels do not do. They cooked the breakfast fresh and too order. what more can I say, but that we will be going...

A friendly staff make this a decent overnight stay ... Room was big enough, clean and recently redecorated, food was standard-but-good and the bar was clean and tidy. A more ambitious menu would have earned the fifth star, but it was good of its kind... Miserable, head-in-laptop customers, so no convivial chatty atmosphere..

Thank you for the review, but on this occasion I think you have the wrong hotel. You mentioned as a room tip that room 11 was nice, but I only have 8 rooms here at The Shrubbery, Shepton Mallet.
