We felt very welcome at Dave's place and he has some very nice cabanos out to the lake. Each has a little deck that lead directly out to lake. The cabanos are fine if rustic but well functional. Supposedly warm water, but didn't function when we were there. You lie in 'hanging' beds, one downstairs, queen size, and one upstairs....

My Fiancée and I stayed two nights and really enjoyed our time. This place is like a throwback to the way things were before big resorts. Dave is a very friendly guy that helped us out and made us feel safe and comfortable. No extra bells or whistles and none were needed. He took us to "mama's international" which is...

Dave is a sweet man but the place is a wreck. I'm aware of what traveling entails and we don't ask for much. we would get almost scolded or treated poorly for the day if we asked for even a fan. or a towel. at one point the staff took my MacBook and played around on it and it hasn't...

My wife and I were driving and needed a place to stay near Chetumal. It was raining pretty hard and I had heard about Gringo Dave's from the Gringo Dave's in Xcalak. We turned in to Laguna Milagro, saw a sign for Gringo Dave's and made the turn. Couldn't find the place, so we looped back around, still couldn't find...

Yes, the views are nice here, and David is very kind, but this place is only a step above camping. It is beyond primitive. I couldn't enjoy the hammock because it was ripped and torn and beyond use. The mold hadn't been cleaned off the bottom step into the lagoon and I fell on it. (David did have someone clean...

We just had an amazing stay here. The cabins are all in front of the beautiful lake. You sleep next to the water and you can have a swim just outside your cabaña. This house made us stay almost the whole day every day at the cabaña. The cabañas itself are cozy and we slept in hanging beds. Dave and...

We had been traveling in Mexico for a week or so as a family staying mostly in City Hotels. We were road weary and tired of listening to traffic at night. We had planned to stay at Gringo Dave's just one night but we knew within an hour of being there that we would stay longer. Cabanas are situated right...

We were on our way to Belize and we had to find a place to sleep, luckily we find gringo Dave's cabins and they were amazing. When we get there it was really dark already, so we just went straight to bed. Next morning we had the biggest surprise ever! The lagoon is beautiful, and we had breakfast delivered at...

“There are several simple cabanas. You can park your car right next to your door. The location feels safe. Each is lovingly decorated with beautiful paintings by the on-site artist! Low cost, tranquil cabins on the lake...a great place to come and just sit and enjoy the peace of the mornings, a beer at sunset, a morning swim. Lovely.”

“the two story cabana is very private and you can swim off your deck, so it's our favourite, but the other single cabins with swinging beds were pretty cool too”
