This Finca is in a delightful setting and is very clean and attractive. However, two observations: At €30 per person the evening meal is overpriced, especially as there is no choice of food and the standard was not great. Secondly, the local roosters start up at around 5.30am and keep going for at least half an hour non-stop trying to...

The friendly owners are doing a really good job at making the garden lush and well kept. Plants everywhere, and a nice, cool garden. We had breakfast and dinner in the patio, under trees, very nice place. I wouldn´t say the dinner was value for money, but it was good and homemade, and VERY filling. Typical Mallorca farmers food. Breakfast...

The place is very nice and clean and the staff/owners are very friendly and very serviceminded. The food is good but not impressive - very rural I'd say. The pool is nice and the surroundings are very lush. The only downside to this place is that it is a bit pricey, considering it being located close to the centre of...

A hidden gem which is not for everyone. My partner and I stay in a range of hotels, on business or for pleasure, throughout the year, from the very top down. But Son Mercadal is the only place that we have come back to every year for the last 9 years. It is simply a traditional Mallorcan farmhouse with traditionally...

We are just back from our stay in Son Mercadal. We have been to Majorca before but this time we wanted something less commercial and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy resorts. We found it! We travelled with 2 children to this Finca just outside the town of Porreres. On arrival we were met by Toni who...

Well in need of a break from the hustle and bustle, we booked into Son Mercadal. It was all we had hoped for. A warm welcome awaited us from Toni and his family. The hotel is very tastefully decorated in traditional style and the bedrooms each have a terrace. Our bedroom was spacious and our towels and lined changed daily....

This was my second visit to Son Mercadal . Sometimes going back to a place is not always as good - but this time was even better. If you want a little piece if Spainish paradise , romance and sanctuary without the trappings of 'commercial holidays' then Son Mercadal is for you. I promise you won't be disappointed

I first stayed at Son Mercadal with my partner last year and we had such a fantastic time that we came again this year, for a longer stay this time!! The hotel is beautiful; it has an old-world feeling to it and is so comfortable that you feel you are staying in someone's home, which you are, but it never...

We just got back from a short trip to Mallorca. We booked at Son Mercadal with the intention of staying only one night, had seen Sawdays review but still didn't know if it would be our cup of tea. We landed in Palma airport at night and were starving, we called Son Mercadal to let them know we would be...

We stayed here for two days as part of a cycling holiday. The interior of the hotel had the wow factor and the pool area was very relaxing. The host was very welcoming and the food was superb. We really enjoyed our stay and felt we were part of Mallorcan life.
