We really enjoyed this hotel where we spent two nights in January. It is very well located in the heart of the city center and a stone's throw from the palace and the fortified castle. We particularly loved the charm of this hotel which features, in the maze of its corridors, pretty works of art and magnificent views of the city's rooftops and interior courtyards. The room was large and clean, with a balcony which must be very nice in summer. We loved the breakfast which takes place in a pretty room with a view of the swimming pool and which offers a large choice and quality products (excellent coffee, pastries, cereals, cheese, milk of all kinds and fruit). The staff is very welcoming. The only downside is the room which is quite poorly soundproofed and the bathroom joints which need to be redone.

Very friendly hotel with a great location, as it is very close to the center of Vila Viçosa. We stayed in a very comfortable suite. The breakfast is varied and complete, the staff are helpful. The hotel offers a room with free tea and biscuits for those who, at night, might want to comfort themselves with something light before going to sleep.

We liked a lot. The service was very friendly, the hotel conditions were good and the breakfast was very good and varied. The excellent location allows access on foot to the main points of interest in Vila Viçosa. We recommend it and will probably return.

The hotel is nicely located at the city centre close to the palace and the fortress. It's got a lovely reception area and all the way to the rooms (corridors and other common areas) is beautifully decorated and well maintained. Our room though I found that was very basic in design if I compare it with the hotel in general. Entrance door to our room gave us tough times in closing when leaving the room. Our friends at the room next to us as soon as they entered their room, they noticed that the interconnecting doors between their room and the one next to them were unlocked! They called the reception and the hotel fixed the problem immediately. Breakfast was ok. There was coffee available all day long to take with you any time of the day. Overall it was just fine for one night stay. No thrills.

A 3-star boutique hotel that could well have 4. Family hotel, animal friendly with a good family attitude. Very good facilities, extremely clean. Friendly, friendly and efficient staff. 5 stars. I just want to highlight the excellent (5 stars) breakfast. Large variety of homemade and self-produced products of excellent quality. Recommend the homemade compotes, homemade cakes, fillings, fruits, bread, cheeses, after all, everything. Returning at the first opportunity.

This is a great place to stay in Vila Viçosa. Small hotel but very welcoming and a great stay. Everybody was so professional and extremely helpful. We were travelling with a dog and a baby and they vê provided us with everything we needed.

The hotel combines two elements within the building - traditional at the front, recent build at the rear. This creates a non-standard feel which actually works quite well. It is both welcoming and comfortable, is well located in the centre of the town and our breakfast was excellent.

If you are a tourist in Portugal there are a few reasons why you should not stay in this hotel. The first is that you probably searched Evora and this guest house is listed under Evora whilst it is in Vila Vicosa, more than an hours drive from Evora. Your round trip will take two hours as you need to travel back past Evora to get back to the main road. There are only two attractions worthwhile in Vila Vicose and both of these only cater for Portuguese speaking people. If you can't speak Portuguese you are wasting your time, even the tour-guide only cater for Portuguese. All the guests at the guesthouse that I spoke to thought they are staying in a guesthouse close to Evora as it is advertised and were unaware of the distance between the two towns. The road between the two towns are quite dangerous with slow-moving farm machinery and trucks and must definitely not be travelled after dark. The owners speak only Portuguese and when you complain about the misrepresentation about the location of the guesthouse they pretend not to understand. The rooms are not cleaned properly and walking barefoot in the room I stepped on clipped toe nails on the floor that has obviously not been vacuumed. The water pressure in the bathroom is weak and when someone in another room opens a tap your are in cold water or scalded. In my opinion the only way this guesthouse can attract customers is by pretending to be in Evora and by misleading potential customers. I will not recommend this guesthouse and stayed here with a bitter taste in my mouth. I definitely felt mislead by the owners of the guesthouse. All in all a thoroughly unpleasant experience not to be recommended.

My apologies only because the answer is late (two years) but now I thought I should do it not because of you but for someone who read this review. I apologize if the address information was wrong, but we have no responsibility for it because we are not (hotel) that enters it here. On housing, I think it must have been mistaken, because the claims have nothing to do with this space, especially the one that says that the owner does not speak English.
