Situated in the heart of Tuscany, Borgo Santo Pietro was once a healing stopover for medieval pilgrims. Today it continues to provide a sanctuary for modern souls, merging luxury hotel o erings and spa concept with a ‘farm-to-plate’ philosophy on a 300-acre estate. The estate encompasses a Michelin-starred restaurant, a holistic spa, organic skincare range Seed to Skin and an extensive organic farm. A sumptuous feeling of home pervades the 800-year- old luxury farmhouse hotel, with its worn leather armchairs pulled up around open fires, fresh flower arrangements picked straight from the garden and weathered brick wine cellar lined with boutique labels. Each of the boutique hotel’s 22 suites & rooms conveys its signature luxury experience of exquisite furnishings and chandeliers, antique art, bespoke beds, well- appointed bathrooms and a propinquity with nature. Whether the choice be a classic suite in the main 12th century villa, an exclusive suite with garden, or a seclusive villa with pool, the ethereal experience is designed for 5 star gratification and service.

Overall we had a lovely stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, with real character in the common areas, rooms and restaurants. I think the grounds are possibly the nicest of any hotel we have ever stayed at. They are immaculately maintained and are simply stunning, with lots of different secluded areas to sit and rest. The food was very good and we enjoyed dining at both restaurants, while the Spa service was also great. Our room was nicely appointed and we particularly enjoyed the large indoor bath area in our suite.

The location is a little bit out of the way but we enjoyed the drive down winding country roads to get there and the setting means beautiful views over the Tuscan countryside.

There are a few things that could be improved though. On our first day our room was not cleaned until we called at 12:30, despite us being out for both breakfast and a spa visit in the morning. The bedding was also not great, with the under sheet coming off the mattress every night, such that we were in direct contact with the mattress which is not ideal. Finally while the staff were friendly and helpful I think overall service was a little patchy, possibly impacted by Covid restrictions with staff seeming a little stretched at breakfast and limited pool service (we had to go and find staff to order drinks/snacks).

Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend a visit.

My husband and I spent 3 days at this wonderful hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away! The hotel grounds itself are stunning, the rooms are beautiful, and the service was over the top. It was worth every penny!

We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived ( our luggage taken directly from our car to our rooms, cocktails and snack with a view upon arrival, custom itineraries made for us, a perfectly drawn bath that was warm when we got back from dinner, etc..), needless to say it was definitely memorable and we felt like family by the time we left. I honestly kept telling my husband I felt like I was living in a dream, I mean the place was perfection.
The staff are true gems and I can't thank them enough for making our stay so wonderful.
This hotel is pure luxury while maintaining the countryside Tuscan charm, and the pictures just do not do it justice. The feeling you get while you stay at Borgo Santo Pietro is rare; it is peaceful, relaxing, and allows you to appreciate the beauty around you while you just completely disconnect from the rest of the world! It's magic.
I have stayed at many wonderful hotels, but I have to say Borgo Santo Pietro will forever be in our hearts and be at the top.

Our highlights and must do's would include the cooking class, enjoying a day by the pool and their farmers market dinner. We found paradise here and will forever be grateful for our stay here. Thank you so much Borgo Santo Pietro for being part of our most wonderful honeymoon.

As someone who travels all over the world for work and having had the fortune to see and stay in top quality locations with outstanding services, my number one place is now Borgo Santo Pietro.

From the stunning and impeccable grounds, to the quality of every flower, pillow case, glass of wine, morsel of outstanding food, care from the service staff...it is the closest thing to perfection one would want for their stay. You can tell very clearly how its owners insist on perfection at every level.

Both restaurants are divine: Meo Modo with it's Michelin star was well worth it. I had the tasting menu that had both meat and fish... The food highs kept coming at every turn, the creativity, visuality , textures and flavors were one of the highlights of my time spent there. Paired with extraordinary wines, I was in foodie heaven!

At the Trattoria d’Albero which one literally sits around a gorgeous tree indoors but all open, whilst gazing across the gorgeous Borgo Santo Pietro vineyards and landscape, is a total dream. Excellent meat and oysters, outstanding Borgo wine.

Touring the grounds and farmland, seeing how their produce is being grown and their multicolored egg houses was so special. The bathroom amenities and spa products coming from that land just tied everything all back together to that organic style of eating and living that we were yearning to experience.

Thank you for the most incredible holiday of our lives. We will be back!
Exceptionally, highly recommended!!

We stayed for 5 nights and wished we had stayed longer. The suites, the gardens, the food... WOW! The team there sets high standards for service and but for one slight mishap, it was a magical stay. Jean-Lucca and Eleanor in the restaurant made great recommendations and they ensured that we had an incredible experience.

The rooms are large, comfortable, and have lovely amenities. Alex (Allesandra) took us for a property tour in the golf car and we are so glad that we did this. We were able to see the farm animals, gardens, vegetables, and herbs. The highlight was a dip in the blue grotto at the river - definitely do this when you are there!

The only downside to the hotel is the location which is an hour away from other places that you may want to visit such as San Gimignano, vineyards/wineries, Siena. The cost of a driver is steep but worth it. The concierge made some great recommendations of wineries to visit and we were thrilled with the experiences. In the end, the hotel is so lovely you become tempted never to leave.

Borgo Santo Pietro is an exceptional luxury hotel with beautiful rooms , pool, grounds and buildings and very good restaurants. We stayed for five nights in a lovely room with private courtyard and greatly enjoyed our stay .

We would recommend those staying to take the time to walk through the incredible vegetable gardens , and visit the chickens whose eggs appear on your breakfast plate. Also worth taking the complimentary experience to see how they make cheese .

All in all excellent . The only thing that could be improved is the slightly disorganized service in the Trattoria, however notwithstanding this we greatly enjoyed our meals thanks to the friendly staff and the wonderful maitre d . The food at the Meli Melo restaurant was exceptional and one can now eat a la carte there if one does not want a seven course tasting menu . The sommelier can find you gems at E100 which is very rare in a Michelin star restaurant located in a 5 star hotel .

My husband and I spent 5 nights here for our honeymoon. We had an absolutely incredible time. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were in a dream. The staff members were excellent and very professional - we were always greeted as sir/madam. The details, from the way menus were handed to us to the lavender on our pillows after the turn down service, were top notch and made the experience that much more spectacular. The honeymoon package was perfect - we loved the roses and our heart shaped cake!

The best part, however, was the grounds. The extensive gardens were incredible. Walking around and picking fresh tomatoes off the vine was an immersive, special experience. The entire resort always smells like lavender.

I would 100% recommend this resort for anyone looking for a relaxing, immersive, spectacular experience!

Borgo Santo Pietro is a place to come to escape the hectic life we lead. It’s truly like staying at a wealthy friend's country home. The staff was outstanding. The room in our garden suite was beautiful. The afternoon was spent walking around the farm and stunning gardens followed by a snooze under a tree around the pool.
We ate in both Meo Modo and the Treehouse Trattoria and both were fabulous! The food was exceptional and the views were just incredible. The fine-dining Meo Modo restaurant was also amazing. The food a real credit to the chef (and quality of the produce) and the setting is truly beautiful.
The guest services staff were awesome. The wait staff and sommeliers were all fantastic. It made us sad to leave but we will be back.

I am going to start off by saying that the negative reviews of this location are completely off. I read some of them before going to this destination and so was a little worried given the high ticket price. Let me say that all the negative reviews are incorrect. I stayed for 3 nights…originally it was supposed to only be 2 nights but the place is so beautiful that we had such trouble leaving. The attention to detail is impeccable. The staff in all the restaurants go above and beyond to make you feel at home. All the suites are beautiful (we stayed in 2 separate garden villas-worth every penny). The food is fresh and flavourful. Dinner at Meo Moto is a must if just for the ambiance (it is a tasting menu which is not my first choice but the food is very good). In the evening the entire grounds are lit up with lanterns and there is a sense that fairies are about to wander out from the bushes…yes it is magical. I have been all over Italy and the world and this may be my favorite place. Ignore the negative reviews.
Just note this place does not allow dogs or service animals….despite size or function.

This one is tough. I’d give it 5* for the grounds and rooms, which are beautiful. 2-3* for service, which was clunky in many ways during our stay. Everyone was very nice, it seemed more like a lack of training. 1* for location, which is sort of in the middle of nowhere. There are other places in the country that are much more convenient to Florence, Siena and the western hill towns (look at Villa La Calvane or COMO Castello de Nero, both of which we love). On a map it looks like Borgo is convenient to the southern wine towns but it’s not. Montalcino is over an hour drive because there aren’t any good east-west arteries. So, you’re basically coming here to stay on property. I’d give it 3* for food, which was a little better than you’d expect walking into any random restaurant in Tuscany. But it’s important to note that you’re basically captive to their food because there’s nothing else around. They do have an extensive Italian/French winelist. So, if you’re not really picky on food and want to stay on property, this may be a very good option. But it was a lot less than we were hoping for. Two other things that I haven’t worked in – first is that our room had a foul odor. I’m not sure what it was, I think it might have been a dead animal. The hotel staff agreed the room smelled strange so I don’t want to make too much of it, but thought it worth mentioning in case others experience anything similar. Second, one night a ultra bright LED came on in our room around 2 or 3 in the morning waking us all up. It went on and off a number of times over about 5 minutes. Our understanding from the hotel was that this may have related to a blackout. Regardless, unless this is required by law, the system seems terrible. Blackouts aren’t emergencies on their own and it ruined our sleep. I would replace with flashlights in nightstands if possible.

Dear 35byronr, Thank you for positive comments on the grounds and rooms. I am very sorry the location was not to your liking – it is in fact one of the reasons our guests choose to stay with us as they so like the surrounding nature in its truest form, whilst being half an hour from Siena or the Mediterranean coast. Thank you for your feedback on our service. We have been experiencing challenges with our staff due to many in the hotel industry choosing alternative careers since Covid hit. However, we endeavor to provide quality service and continue in our recruitment program to ensure that service. It is not clear if you ate at the gourmet restaurant or at the trattoria, however thank you for sharing your thoughts, your comments have been taken to heart. We have resolved the red light and apologise for your disturbed sleep. I hope you will join us here at Borgo again. Sincerely, Claus Thottrup CEO & Owner

As soon as you drive up the driveway you immediately know that you are going to be staying in something special. The grounds are stunning, perfectly manicured and breathtaking . The views from the Trattoria and pool overlooking the Tuscan countryside are beautiful. The main building is full of character and the bedrooms are all a delight . Modern amenities like the TV are hidden away in the bedroom so as not to ruin the ambience of the decoration is a very nice touch. We ate in both of the restaurants and preferred the more traditional food of the Trattoria but thoroughly enjoyed our evening in the more formal one . The tuscan country side is a delight to drive around with Chianti being about an hours drive away . Staying at the Borgo was a privilege , go there you wont be disappointed !
